  • Lovely Shepherds hut, cosy, warm and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great location, we really enjoyed Llansteffan beach and castle which is nearby. Friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts. Many thanks for the delicious bread and lighting the log burner before we arrived. Hope to visit again :)

  • We came slightly later than we had originally said and were still met warmly, Andrew had already put on the stove so we arrived into a wonderful warm space. We were soaking wet coming from a walk in storm Dennis so we were especially grateful for this! We were presented with some utterly delicious home cooked bread and shown the amenities and left to it. The cabin is gorgeous, comfortable and was warm enough to dry us and beat our chills in no time. Lovely hosts and a gorgeous space.

  • The hut is immaculately clean and cosy. Every detail is perfect. It's a lovely quirky space, perfect for couples! We would have happily stayed longer, one night just wasn't enough. We were greeted warmly on arrival and even given the most delicious homemade bread which we enjoyed later with butter and jam. The cabin smells wonderful! It's been lovingly decorated and looked after. There is a pub across the road, no more than 2 minutes walking, and plenty of public footpaths nearby. I would highly recommend!

  • Cannot express how amazing this place is! Me and my partner have just spent the weekend here and loved every minute! The cabin itself is stunning , full of charm with lots of little thoughtful touches. Homemade bread on arrival was so tasty! The bed is extremely comfortable and we both had the best nights sleep! Everything you could possibly need and more. We will definitely be returning to this little gem!

  • We loved our stay in this cute and cosy hut after a long days cycle. The log burner kept us warm all night in frosty January, and the homemade bread was delicious! We look forward to staying again in the summer, to enjoy sitting outside the hut on the decking.

A spacious barn conversion just 15 mins from the end of the M4. It is wonderfully quiet on 10 acres of wild land and adjacent to an organic farm (order your fresh veg in advance). It has big rooms throughout, a lawn, patio, fire pit, BBQ area, Hot tub and impressive views. It offers a relaxed and comfortable stay with underfloor heating throughout.
The track is approx 400m long and currently has bumps and potholes. It is perfectly accessible, just drive slowly please.
  • Lovely landscape. Very cosy. Brilliant space for large groups to spend time together.

  • We had a lovely stay at Louise's place. Very spacious and well located with a secluded and peaceful vibe. The hot tub was amazing and just what we needed after a long walk in the Brecon Beacons! Louise was a friendly host and check in/out was very easy.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Louise’s property and would recommend to anyone who wants to have a relaxed weekend away with friends

  • Beautiful house with stunning views. We had a great stay and would definitely return!

    India2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We were three families (6 adults, 5 kids) visiting for 2 nights over a weekend in October. A fantastic converted barn nestled in the Welsh countryside. On arrival the house is accessed via a fairly long, but well signposted track and there is a good amount of parking. Our first family to arrive were greeted by the host Louise shortly after arriving. The living space and kitchen area are spacious with plenty of room to spread out. Freeview TV in one of the lounges but we didn't find a dvd player. Kitchen diner is a fantastic entertaining space and is well equipped. All bedrooms were big with comfy beds and plenty of bathrooms. Master bedroom was fantastic with great views, although there were no curtains in that room. Not a problem in October but could be bright on summer mornings. Outside space is great with big hot tub, firepit and wood provided and patio and lawn area. Would recommend this property!

    Chris2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great stay for family or a group of friends. Apart from the excellent amenities there is an "inexplicable" "je ne sais crois" vibe. Great energy in the place - total relaxation. Not to be missed!

    Carole2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • We were made very welcome at Rhiannon’s place. The bed was comfortable and everything extremely clean. Lovely breakfast too!

    Margaret2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was the best b&b I've been so far! Rhiannon and her mum are so friendly and kind, and they made sure our stay was very comfortable. Their house is amazing. Our room had loads of space,it was very clean, had big comfortable bed and quiet neighbourhood. I have to highlight how awesome breakfast was! 5* hotels can't compete with traditional Welsh breakfast, my only regret is, that I couldn't manage to eat it all, as it was so big portion:) And creamy egg and Easter card was just lovely surprise! We were very happy to spent Easter there. Thank you very much.

A beautiful newly built small one bedroom self contained apartment giving comfortable and cosy accommodation Set in the heart of wales, the perfect retreat to escape the pressures of everyday life, giving you a perfect base to visit all that wales has to offer. The garden room would also be suitable for business people working in the surrounding area. Included in the room there is one bedroom, shower/toilet room , small kitchen area comprising of,sink, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle.
Even though the Garden room can be seen as quite small, it is very well equipped and the welcome is huge.
It is a beautiful village which is 5 minutes from the A48 which leads to the M4. we have a country pub 200 yds away serving freshly prepared meals using mostly locally produced ingredients. There are an abundance of local attractions nearby.
  • Gillian gave a very warm welcome and was really informative, she provided a good breakfast selection and the Welsh cakes were much appreciated. Told us about the food at the pub right next door and we weren’t disappointed, lovely meal could also have a drink and not worry about driving home. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Small but comfortable, friendly pub next door , well located for Botanical Gardens

  • Had a great stay at Gills garden room. Great self contained space which doesn't feel cramped. Great location for me as it was less than a mile away from where I was doing my training course. Gills communication and instructions for finding the place and settling in were perfect. The welsh cakes were a nice treat and was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast options in the fridge and cupboard. Gill and Nigel's hospitality was amazing. They clearly enjoy meeting the people that come to stay at the garden room.

    Joe2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • The garden annex is a perfectly set up place. It’s bijou and perfectly formed with lovely touches like home cooked cake and chocolates on the pillows. Also lovely provisions in the fridge. Beats a hotel and staggering distance from a lovely local pub. Great value for a weekend stay in a beautiful area.

    Jennie2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Just a few minutes from the A48 Crosshands. Lovely garden annex, great alternative to chain hotels, treat to have private space and added touches of welshcakes and breakfast items was much appreciated. Highly recommend.

Ideal location in a woodland setting, a perfect base to explore Carmarthenshire. A small one up, one down, compact, rustic, cozy, detached cottage set in a rural quiet location, next to a brook. There is a pub within a 5-minute walk. Warm in front of the log burner in the winter or relax on a sun-filled patio in the summer. 8 miles from the Wales oldest town, Carmarthen, close to Pembrey country park & superb Beach, Ffos Las Racecourse, Kidwelly Castle, Llansteffan & Botanic gardens
The cottage is compact and quaint with everything you need for a relaxing visit to Wales. The cottage has one bedroom with a double bed, a small shower room , a kitchen lounge with dining a table and a log burner. Dvds only. Outside are views over the valley, a patio area looking on to the brook and a chiminea. There are 2 dogs at the property but they do not have access to Brook Cottage. Please note.. The cottage is situated right on a lane, it is very quiet but care must be taken when entering and leaving the cottage.
The cottage is perfectly located, an enjoyable leisurely stroll down the lane over an ancient bridge and river to the local pub. We recommend the local pub, the food is home cooked and the locals don't bite :) There is a shop a mile and a half away with a post office, petrol, and chemist. Also, there are some good places to eat within a 2-mile radius plus very good taxi service. There are many places to visit, the National Botanical gardens are a short drive away and Carmarthen holds the Antique fairs once a month at the Carmarthen showground. The Cynheidre Railway is 2 miles away for railway enthusiasts. You can go further a field, Tenby is only 45 minutes away and a visit to Narberth is a must. The Ffos Las racecourse holds many events each year and is hugely popular. Closer by LLanelli wetlands are worth a visit and so is Burry port with its new Lifeboat station and great fish and chips. Pembrey country park 5 miles away has everything, acres of woodland to cycle, a fabulous Beach framed by sandunes. The renown Glynn Abbey golf course is 2 miles away,

  • We had such a wonderful time there. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Really nice place and made very welcome down the Incline which is there local pub. Thank you both very much!

  • Just wow, lovely hosts in a friendly village, great location base for days out. Great value little cottage.

    Rob2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Keri was there to greet us and showed us around the cottage - she was very welcoming and gave us lots of info about the local area and recommended some days out. The cottage is very cosy, just what we wanted and better than we had expected. They had put out some wine and fresh flowers which was a lovely touch. The cottage has everything you need in the compact space - they have thought of everything! We chilled out by the fire and watch a film, had breakfast in bed and the cottage also has a nice patio area with a BBQ which we used one evening. We used the log burner and Keri was quick to offer help with this. We did lots of exploring but also spent time relaxing and chilling out in the cottage. We went to the Incline Inn for dinner one evening (10 mins down the road walking) and they were very friendly and the food was delicious. We also had a carvery on the Wednesday at the rugby club which again was delicious (about 5 min drive). We visited Kidwelly castle - can explore the castle and has lovely views. Burry Port which has a beautiful sandy beach. The botanic gardens which had an incredible bird show and The mumbles in Swansea which is a pretty costal town. Overall we have a lovely stay at the cottage and would love to return. Thank you so much for having us.

  • Really recommend this beautiful Chocolate box cottage; great getaway and amazing hosts!:)

    Grace2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I wanted a little child-free break, and we both had a wonderful, relaxing and chilled out time at Little Brook Cottage. The setting was charming, I enjoyed a peaceful cup of tea sitting outside in the morning, listening to the birds and the brook, it was blissful. You couldn't ask for better hosts than Keri and Kev. They are such generous, kind, and warm hearted people, you can tell from the minute you meet them that they really want you to enjoy your stay and will do all to accommodate you. There were some lovely touches on arrival, fresh flowers and a bottle of wine, which really made it all feel very special. We have returned home feeling relaxed and will always remember the visit fondly. Nearby Pembrey Beach was amazing and we also managed a mooch around the lovely shops in Narberth. All in all, a beautiful few days which were enhanced all the more by Keri and Kev's wonderful hospitality.

  • Hilary and Hughs place is beautiful. The location and area is lovely and so much to do and see locally. We stayed for just the one night but will definitely be back in the future for another stay. The deco inside is beautiful and the little touches bread and milk were so thoughtful. The log burner in upon arrival was also a sweet touch. It’s got everything you need for a couple nights stay and the views out of the place were wonderful. Would recommend to anyone !

    Callum2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Hilary was a great host. The cottage exceeded our expectations. Very cosy and stylish place with lots of nice touches.

    Jamie2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Hilary was a wonderful hostess! She greeted us with a freshly baked loaf of bread (which hit the spot!) and a newly lit fire in the wood stove. We arrived after touring southwest Wales in the windy, cold rain. My wife and I couldn't have found a cozier, more perfect spot to warm up, have a cup of tea, and cuddle on the couch. The space was newly remodeled, clean and had everything we needed. And the locale was a picturesque Welsh country setting. Highly recommend!

    Jason2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place to stay, the hosts were very responsive and offered us some great tips about where to eat locally. We would love to stay again!

Come and stay in cosy surroundings with stylish decor and all the amenities for a break from the hustle and bustle. Relax and unwind in a peaceful village setting close to many beaches, castles, walks and quaint market towns. It’s a countryside location so very quiet except for the sounds of some animal neighbours and the odd tractor going by. Off the main road so no car noise to keep you awake at night.
Small ex servant cottage that has been renovated recently. Located on a small holding with plenty of space to relax. Recline on the corner sofa in front of the fire, take a dip in the sumptuous bath and refurbished bathroom. Stylish cosy decor throughout with a home from home feel. A great base to explore wonderful Carmarthenshire or beyond to Pembrokeshire, Gower and the Brecon Beacons. There’s an extensive welcome pack with lots of ideas of places to visit, good food stops and all the history the local area has to offer. If you have any particular interests or requests we’d be happy to help. Please help yourself to whatever may be in the kitchen cupboards and fridge - they are left for your use. Plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate (including marshmallows) as well as basic store cupboard ingredients. The fire will be laid ready for you to light and there will be a basket of logs available to get you started. The bed in the main room is a king and a single in the second bed. If you did want to bring an extra guest please contact to see what we can do to accommodate you. **Please be aware that this is my home therefore there will be some personal belongings around the house.
Llanegwad is a quiet little village - no amenities within the village apart from plenty of country walks. Nearest shop/garage is 8 min drive away however there are two country pubs called The Creselly and The Salutation less than a mile away. Take-aways aplenty in the nearest town of Carmarthen or Llandeilo. Both 7 miles away in either direction. Supermarkets are located in Carmarthen however most main stores will do an online delivery should you wish to set something up before you arrive. You will find Wright’s Emporium in the nearby village of Llanarthney which is a lovely spot for brunch and to stock up on deli essentials including some Very good wines. Another favourite is the Hangout just a short drive away in Llandeilo, great for breakfasts, coffee and cake. While you’re in Llandeilo pop to the Ginhaus for a tipple or a browse in their deli. Heavenly chocolates are just on the high street where you can buy delicious ice cream and homemade chocolates amongst other gorgeous treats. Another fantastic restaurant is Y Polyn - booking is usually essential. The Sunday lunch is particularly good as is there credit crunch lunch.
  • Absolutely beautiful house, impeccably clean and incredibly stylish, I would say it's the nicest place we've stayed. The village in which it is located is also beautiful, with some great walks and pubs within a short distance. The host could not have been more accommodating, went well above and beyond what we would expect of a host, thank you very much. This place is highly recommended!

  • My wife and I booked for 4 nights over Christmas and had an absolutely brilliant time. The house is in a fantastic location if you like peace & quiet, with many great walks in the nearby Brecon Breacons. It's also a short drive from some lovely beaches, and we enjoyed exploring nearby Carmarthen. The house itself has everything you could ask for and more, with lots of nice touches such as a whole host of walking books, games to play and we were greeted by some lovely Christmas decorations including a gorgeous Christmas tree. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, it was great to curl up in front of the fire after a long day hill walking. Maria was really friendly & helpful, on the one occasion I needed to get in touch she replied to my text message within 2 minutes. It really was fantastic value for money and we couldn't recommend Maria's place more, it would be a brilliant place to stay at any time of year

  • What a fantastic Cottage, beautifully decorated and stocked with everything you need. Great location for the Brecons and not far to the beach. Maria is a lovely host and everything was sparkling clean with thoughtful extras. Can’t wait to visit again.

  • Maria's cottage is First Class. A superb, comfortable and spacious 'home' from which it is easy to explore the delights of South Wales. It was a lovely place to return to after a day out exploring. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage. Maria herself was the perfect host which made it such a great holiday.

The cottage has its own balcony seating area and opposite, there is a country garden, with seating to enjoy the countryside. BBQ set provided. My homely home is a converted barn, known as.........the barn! It is nestled in 30 acres of farmland with beautiful views of the countryside. It is a cosy, quiet and peaceful little getaway with country walks, castles, and waterfalls all close by. Its also a great area to get on a bike and explore. The National Botanical Garden of Wales is a stone's throw from my house, and I am situated only around 25 minutes away from the coast at Llansteffan. The fields and garden attract many birds.
The front door opens into a kitchen equipped for cooking, with a cooker, toaster, fridge and plenty of cupboard space and work surfaces. The shower room, with basin and loo is downstairs. We provide wood for a wood burning stove which keeps the open plan living space warm in colder weather. Doors open onto a small garden and patio with a table and chairs looking out over fields and woodland. Upstairs the bedroom has a large double bed and velux windows open to the garden and the stars. There are books to read and we endeavour to keep the place homely and comfortable, with a table and chairs and two large sofas. You are welcome to roam in our woodland and in our fields if they are not being grazed by cattle.
We have 30 acres of fields and woods, situated in beautiful countryside with very few people. We are keen conservationists and birdwatchers. In recent years we have planted new woodland, dug ponds and we feed a large number of garden and woodland bird species. Although we are quiet, there are some very good restaurants and cafes nearby (driveable in 10 minutes), and there are some lovely walks. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is on our doorstep. If you are lucky to be here on a clear night, the stars are worth gazing at.
  • A lovely space nestled in pretty countryside. You are totally private but hosts on hand to help with anything. Such a lovely space, great value for money. I stayed in the winter months and it was so cosy and warm. Lots of lovely little touches that make you feel you’re staying in a home. Would recommend highly.

  • Lovely space with a log burner fire that heated the place up all weekend. We really enjoyed staying in The Barn, there are some great walks and castles near by. Llansteffan has a big beach where we went for a windy walk followed by a trip to the castle and lunch at The Inn At The Sticks bar/restaurant - great food highly recommended! Jo and Ann were super helpful and friendly - thanks for a fab weekend!

  • What a cozy place to stay! My husband and I stayed here for a valentines getaway, and even though the weather was stormy we had such a wonderful time. We loved sitting by the fireplace and listening to the rain on the windows. Very clean and well kept as well. Ann greeted us at check in and had plenty of tips for us for where we could go in the rainy weather! We had such a fun time, would recommend to anyone looking for a fun, cozy trip away.

  • The barn is a lovely cosy retreat tucked away in the Welsh countryside. Poppy met us on arrival, even though we were late on a Friday night, and gave us a really good introduction to the property and the area. The hot water bottle in the bed was a very thoughtful touch!

  • Perfectly located to get to heaps of places, beautiful area to stay in. Was given really easy to understand directions. Spacious and comfortable, this mid-terrace cottage has a pretty south-facing garden, a wood-burning stove, and both shower and bath. There are two bedrooms, with a double bed in each, and there is a double sofa-bed in the large open plan living room/ kitchen. Your host lives next door and is happy to help, but you will help yourself to keys from a key safe and your privacy and comfort is the first priority.
The ground floor open-plan kitchen/living room is at the back of the house and opens onto a pathway with a patio and a pretty walled garden beyond. This is a very pleasant spot and a south-facing sun-trap. Your next-door neighbours on the terrace have right of way along the pathway outside the door. The house is quirky in that it was built on six staggered levels connected by short staircases! The first of these leads up from the fully-equipped kitchen to a small room containing a washing machine, sink and W.C. There is also a complete bathroom containing both a bath and large shower. All the sleeping areas are at the back of the house, overlooking the garden and away from the main road. Y Fedwen (pronounced 'uh ved-when') is Welsh for 'birch tree.' The house welcomes individuals, small groups and families (though there are no included features specifically for infants and toddlers). The garden includes a large patio, a table and chairs, and a barbecue. There are two dedicated parking spaces at the bottom of the garden and further parking is always available (and free) on the road adjacent (Station Road; B4310). Smoking is permitted in the garden. Fun and noise is expected, but only between the hours of 11am and 11pm, for the health and well-being of your neighbours (and possibly yours!).
The Tywi Valley in which we are situated is beautiful and full of interesting places to visit - castles, gardens, historic houses and museums. Beaches are not far beyond Carmarthen and The Brecon Beacons National Park is not far beyond Llandeilo in the opposite direction. The area offers numerous outdoor activities, not least the famous mountain bike trails (about 6 miles north at Brechfa and Abergorlech). There are 2 pubs within easy walking distance (1 mile). The nearest shop and petrol station is at White Mill, about 2 miles away on the A40 towards Carmarthen, which is 5 miles away. There is also a community shop and post office at Dryslwyn, which is about 5 miles in the other direction on the A40 towards Llandeilo.
  • A lovely homely little house. Clean, comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches and a wonderful wood burning stove. We did not meet Alice but she was easy to communicate with and responded promptly to messages. Great location too - with easy access to wonderful places. Many thanks.

  • Lovely cosy cottage, comfortable beds, a perfect place to unwind with the bonus of being well positioned for visiting the area.Just 10 minutes from Carmarthen. Highly recommended.

    Melissa2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We needed somewhere close to Carmarthen for my father's birthday the week end before christmas so we looked at hotels first. They were all really expensive so we looked at Airbnb for the first time and found this wonderful place. It's not too far out of Carmarthen and is an unique house on several floors. It feels homely and cosy and has all the facilities you need but still retains the quirky old house feel. I had to do battle with the coal fire to get it to work (not sure I entirely cracked it) but that was great fun. I would probably have had more success if I had read the extensive instructions that were provided. The property was absolutely spotless and had several nice touches such as milk in the fridge, tea and coffee provided as well as many others. This was an ideal place to stay for the weekend and would also be suitable for a longer stay.

  • We stayed for two nights and Alice made us very welcome. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and more, including extra touches with flowers in the rooms. Beds were comfy and having two toilets handy at times. The weather was great for October but cooled in th evening and Alice kindly lit a fire for us to return to a cosy home. We enjoyed adding logs both evenings. Our trip to St David's was super and we went on a coastal walk from St Justinian which was stunning. An unexpected highlight was seeing baby seals basking in the sun on the rocks whilst watching what seemed like their parents playing in the water. There are many places of interest to visit in the area. I wish we could have stayed longer and would recommend a stay at Alice's place.

The Cwtch is a small but airy cabin, with separate bathroom & bedroom. It is situated on our smallholding, within our large garden, but is completely private from the other properties that are nearby. We are situated 3 miles from Carmarthen, the 'Gateway to the West' and our location is accessible to a variety of both ancient and modern places of interest, aswell as being not far from the main M4 corridor.
  • Lovely place, friendly hosts, would definitely recommend. Thanks for the stay!

    Gareth2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Cwtch is the cosiest place to stay! We holed up for the night in Storm Dennis and was totally comfortable. The fire was on ready and we had everything we needed for a perfect night away. Comfortable bed, lovely hot shower and the corner suite to chill out on. Close enough to the main roads, easy to find and spent the next day visiting Laurghne and Pendine. Beautiful places. Even in heavy wind and rain, the host came down from the main farmhouse to show us around and where everything was. Will definitely be making a return journey in the Spring/Summer to enjoy the farm and garden :)

    John2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Just lovely, quiet and secluded and so, so cosy! Friendly hosts and lovely little touches and kindnesses.

  • My stay at the Cwtch was fantastic, the location was so beautiful and peaceful - perfect for a relaxing break. The Cwtch is the cosiest little cabin with a roaring gas fire, perfect for after a long day. Lee and Lisa were very friendly and welcoming, Lee gave me a tour of their barn which is also available to rent if you’re a larger group. I’d absolutely recommend!

Set in the Tywi Valley, convenient for fisherfolk and exploring the beauties of South West Wales. The house is fairly basic but should have everything neccesary and has a certain charm. Breakfast is available and other meals too if wanted. It is on a bus route and parking is available also. The bungalow is not homes and gardens but it is quite sweet and I think has the necessities for a comfortable stay. A recent guest has left a very bad review. Please do read other reviews.
I will leave basics in the fridge for your arrival, it is grim to arrive and find nothing! Bread, milk, butter, there are some bits and pieces in the cupboards too, mostly left by previous guests, spices, salt and so on. The heating is run on gas and is on a timing schedule. It is set to keep the temperature at 19 degrees for when you wake and in the evening, in general people who stay are out during the day and it means they don't have to worry about switiching it on and off as they go in and out. If you are a hot house person,we all have different comfort levels, let me know, for a small surcharge I will take it off the schedule and you can have the run of the thermostat. If you would like to have breakfast cooked for you, a good Welsh breakfast, let me know (we live over the road), if you want to try laverbread, ditto, there is a charge of £5.00 per person, but I can't provide it on Sundays. I can also provide meals if you don't feel like cooking. I can either drop something homemade over to you or you can come and eat with us. The charge depends either upon what we are having or what you would like delivered. I have been cooking for parties and freezers for many years. I like cooking mediterranean and middle eastern food, we lived in Turkey for a while. I can do Indian and Chinese also (Ken Hom style!).
The valley is very beautiful, the excessive(!) rainfall does have the silver lining of providing us with wonderfully lush and verdant countryside. The little lanes are beautiful to drive around, full of wild flowers. From here we can see the Black Mountains, the edge of the Brecon Beacons and the Fan (pronounced Van), a sharp escarpment, often white in Winter. At the foot of the Fan lies a lake, from here comes the story of the lady of the lake and the physicians of Myddfai. Wales is a country where myth, legend and history are entwined.
  • Great location for exploring the local area, clean & tidy bungalow. Hosts replied quickly and were friendly throughout!

  • Very well placed for exploring mid-Wales. The cottage has comfy beds and was warm and cozy. Frances is a very helpful host. On arrival she had brought bread, milk and eggs which was a lovely touch and previous guests had left lots of sauces and spices in the cupboards. Nearby Carmarthen has all the shops you might need. When we stayed the TV picked up all the BBC channels. Incredibly good value. We will return.

    Victoria2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Frances was very easy to work with and communicate with. Always friendly and even brought over sweets like ginger cake. As students staying in Wales for clinical rotations at Glangwili this place was perfectly located. It had everything we needed: two individual bedrooms, working shower with hot water, washing machine, wifi, etc. The water pressure in the shower was lower than what we are used to, but it was not a problem. Only issue that kept cropping up was the stove/oven would stop working. However, Frances was always quick to come over and work on it to fix it. Overall, would recommend if you are looking for a place to stay in Carmarthen for a nice, low price.

    Aaron2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely week at this cottage - pleasantly surprised at how modern the amenities were - we've had great communication with Frances and it was lovely that she had put milk butter etc in the fridge ready for our arrival - we took camping chairs and table and were able to sit out on an evening - the road is a bit noisy - just don't put ur light sleepers in the front bedroom it's been great we loved it and would definitely go back if we visit Wales again xx

Grade II listed, the small, but perfectly formed Glandulas Lodge is possibly the most charming, pink, octagonal property available on Airbnb in South West Wales. Right beside the A40 in the beautiful Tywi (Towy) Valley between Carmarthen and Llandeilo, it is ideally suited to walkers - being situated between the Brecon Beacons and Pembrokeshire Coast National Parks, and the Gower Peninsula. The Tywi and Cothi are renowned as the best sewin (sea trout) fishing rivers in the United Kingdom.
Glandulas Lodge consists of a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove (first basket of wood is provided free of charge), dining table, and TV. The bedroom contains a king-size bed and ample storage. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, dishwasher, and washing machine. The bathroom has a bath/shower. The lodge is centrally heated and has WiFi available throughout. Bed linen and towels are provided. Outside is a large garden with chairs and a table, and parking for one car.
Carmarthen is our nearest large town - 10 miles away - and has two large supermarkets as well as all the standard High Street shops and a multiscreen cinema. Llandeilo is only five miles away and is a small, pretty town full of pastel-shaded houses and mostly independent shops, art galleries, restaurants and bars. A local community-run shop and post office is a 20 minute walk from the lodge. For garden lovers, Aberglasney and Wales's National Botanical Gardens are within a few miles, while Llanelli’s Millennium Coastal Path provides miles of traffic-free cycle paths. The county is full of ruined castles including (amongst others) atmospheric Carreg Cennen, Llansteffan, Kidwelly, and our own local castle at Dryslwyn - just one mile down the road.
  • A beautiful space and location for exploring Carmarthenshire.

  • The lodge was very well appointed and very cosy. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend. Martin was very hospitable - leaving us some welcome treats - which were much appreciated.

    Abby2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful and historical place was the perfect house to stay for us. It is centrally located in rural Wales, and is an old charm to stay at. A grade two listed building, it was very well equipped and warm for our chosen winter visit. Heated by both hydronic and wood fire heating made the stay even more homely. And after a couple of long days out driving the coastal roads and national parks, the hot bath was very welcomed. Although Martin left a detailed list of places to eat out, the kitchen was really practical and easy to cook in. We went to markets and purchased local foods and cooked at the house for part of our stay. We enjoyed a couple of scotch whiskey’s by the fire and slept really well in the super quiet and warm room. Hardly a sound to be heard. You will need a car to stay here, and that’s why we chose this place. Drive, explore and come home to relax and wind down. Thanks also for the welcome basket of goodies. Perfect base to explore!

    Darren2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is an absolute gem. If you're after a quiet quirky getaway this is it. Comfy bed and bedroom, snug living room (loads of books - so many and so little time to read them all!) with a brilliant wood burner (dog collapsed to dreamsville each night after a day's walking in front of it - come to think of it so did we!). Compact but well-appointed kitchen with ample room for cooking (and I'm fussy when it comes to cooking) - ample pans, pots, utensils, I was in cooking nirvana! (Hint: great salt marsh lamb if you head west to the Gower). Great hosts, everything we needed was there - and really nice thoughts like a pint of milk, small loaf of bread, treats for us (and treats for the dog too!). Our only problem is sorting out a date when we can go back there.

    Steve2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tiny bit perfectly formed. Warm and cosy, quirky in all the right ways. Pictures and books; a wonderful comfy bed; and amazing shower. Remember your slippers for in front of the fire. Wonderful local walks; a pleasure

  • Just gorgeous! The little pink house won't disappoint, we loved staying there and I'm sure we will be back! Sitting by the fire of an evening, it was the perfect getaway! The Local area is gorgeous. Highly recommended!

  • This place has everything you need and is very cosy and comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights but wish we had longer. Lots to do in the area, we enjoyed Aberglasney Gardens the most, beautiful. We loved the extra touches like leaving us bread, milk & treats. The kitchen is fully equipped and everything was spotlessly clean. Highly recommend this place.

  • We had a lovely relaxing stay at Lois's, the cottage is full of character and very cosy, it had everything you needed for a comfortable stay.

    Carla2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. The cottage is well-located - it's pretty close to Cross Hands, but feels nice and remote at the same time. The kitchen and living area is lovely, and the bedroom is big, so 4 of us (2 adults, one child in a single bed, and one baby in a bassinet) slept happily. The fire gives a nice atmosphere. Our 4-year-old loved feeding the sheep, and there is a lot to do in the local area. Lois was welcoming and friendly, we would recommend it.

    Michael2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little place to explore the beauty of Carmarthenshire, or just stay in the cottage and unwind from the world. The cottage is well-equipped with everything you need (cooking was a breeze) is warm (we stayed in the middle of winter and between the central heating and the fire it was so toasty i had to turn the heating down!) and the bed is incredibly comfortable. The grounds the cottage is on are beautiful, and Lois could not have been more helpful with local tips. Everything we wanted to see was within 20 mins drive (castles, Wrights Food, Llandelio village, nature walks), and the cottage is close to the A48 which makes it simple to get to. If you want to explore west Wales, this is a perfect place to do it from.

  • Beautiful old cosy cottage in a wonderful setting. Lois was fantastic in helping us with our itinerary with her local knowledge to really make the most of our stay.

    Michael2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed our time at Lois's farmhouse-cottage. The place is just lovely. Very true to its rural character, very warm, and very well furnished and equipped. It is nestled in a beautiful spot in the countryside and yet still very practical, as it is close to a number of top attractions and town amenities. It can serve as a great base for touring South Wales by car, or even just that quite beautiful place where you can take a break from city life. The hospitlaity of the hosts components all the good qualities of the place. Lois and her family are very friendly, extremely helpful and gentle people. Highly recommended!

Over 300 year old Toll cottage with a rich Welsh history situated on the enchanting river Towy in Carmarthenshire. It has 2 spacious bedrooms and a bathroom done up to a high standard on the ground floor, the second bedroom leads on to decking over the river. The open plan kitchen/living room as well as a second toilet are on the first floor with another entrance onto decking making the most of the amazing views up and down river. The only neighbour is also the care taker for the cottage.
This is an upside down cottage with the bedrooms downstairs and the living area upstairs. The very high ceiling upstairs has allowed the addition of a mezzanine with a sky light which opens fully and allows one to feel they are in the surrounding trees.
The area is rural with numerous walks and cycle riding. The river is navigable by canoe. There is a lovely Pub called The Railway Hotel just over the bridge in the village of Nantgaredig. Wrights Emporium is about 15 minutes by car and is an amazing French Bistro type place owned by Simon Wright, Michelin star chef. A lovely awarding winning restaurant is just up the road called Y Polyn. Brechfa forest is about 15 minutes away by car and has amazing walks and cycle trails. Carmarthen is 15 minutes away by car and has an undercover market and a castle steeped in history. The Botanical gardens are 10 minutes away by car. Llan Stefan beach and castle are about 20 minutes away by car and has fantastic beaches and panoramic views from the castle.
  • Me and my partner stayed here for a long weekend and it was a very good choice. The space is larger than what we thought from the pictures, and it was kept nicely warm the whole stay. Lucy was a welcoming host and made sure we had everything we needed. You are close enough to explore Camarthen and Llandelio which were both worth a visit.

94 High Street is a two bedroomed, terraced holiday cottage 12 minutes from the end of the M4 in the Welsh village of Tumble. Sleeping up to 4 people, plus 1 infant, it is reasonably priced for family and dog friendly holidays. The accommodation is equipped with everything you could need from a home away from home. There is off road parking for two cars at the rear of the property, a safe enclosed garden and secure outbuilding for bike storage.
The house is well equipped with all you need to make it a home from home. Comfortable king sized bed in the main bedroom and sturdy bunkbeds in the smaller room. On the ground floor is the sitting / dining room, fully equipped kitchen and luxurious bathroom with bath and shower over. We have tried to think of everything that guests could need for a comfortable stay from hairdryer and fluffy towels, travel cot and highchair to dog towels and bowls.
There is so much to see and do in the county of Carmarthenshire from miles of quiet sandy beaches, hills, forests and waterfalls to explore. Castles, gardens, quaint shopping towns and superb regional food there is something here for everyone! The village of Tumble developed in the 19th century to house the anthracite miners who were employed at the nearby Dynant Fach and Great Mountain collieries. It is a really friendly place and has shops and takeaway restaurants within 5 minutes’ walk of the front door. The garden opens onto a recreation area which in turn leads onto Route 47 Swiss Valley cycle path which is an almost entirely traffic free path running from Cross Hands, through the village of Tumble and on to the Millennium Coastal Park at Llanelli, 10.8 miles in total! Tumble is 1.5 miles from Cross Hands, 14 miles from Carmarthen, and 9 miles from Llanelli so well placed to explore the lovely county of Carmarthenshire and neighbouring Pembrokeshire and Gower Peninsula.

  • The Old Dairy was exactly what we were looking for - cosy, secluded and peaceful! The property is gorgeous and Veronica really couldn’t do enough for us - she was so helpful and accommodating! We will definitely stay again - mainly to use the amazing log burner, as it wasn’t cold enough to use it this time haha!

  • The Old Dairy is a lovely holiday cottage to explore the nearby area. It’s been finished really nicely and is lovely and warm. The owners live next door but the property is very quiet and peaceful. Definitely recommend!

  • The Dairy Barn guest house is a lovely space, plenty of room, clean, efficient, the WiFi works perfectly (for those that need it) and it's in a beautiful piece of Welsh countryside just 10 mins off a main road (but you'd never know it). Veronica is a very communicative and helpful host. I've stayed at AirBnB's all over the US, the Caribbean and Japan and in it's own way this was one of the nicest!

    Julie2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Andie's place was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were traveling with our two kids (an infant and toddler), and the house was perfect for families. There were thoughtful touches like toys for the kids and a stool to reach the bathroom sink. Andie was a warm and super responsive host. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again.

  • Perfect for families. Kids loved it. Accommodation has facilities to keep kids entertained along with a spacious enclosed garden. There a a variety of activities nearby. There is a booklet in the cottage with all the nearby places from a botanic garden centre to a farm. The host made our stay comfortable and was always on hand if we wanted help with anything. Theres strong internet connection throughout the house which allowed me to do a bit of work too. Really felt like home away from home. We would like to stay again if we visit Wales.

  • As other reviewers state, the photos do not do this place justice! It’s a gorgeous location with a hill hosting some remarkable castle ruins just a five minute walk down the road. Monica was lovely and left us welshcakes, tea bags, sugar, even milk in the fridge! We had an amazing time hiking the local area as well as viewing the breathtaking botanical gardens - only a fifteen minute drive from the residence. At the end of the day we were able to curl up by the fire and watch a movie. A 10/10 stay!

    Gabby2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely, spacious cottage (much bigger than the photos show), perfect for the two of us to enjoy a break away in this beautiful part of wales. The little touches provided by Monica were a lovely gesture and her warm welcome was very appreciated! There is a table and chairs outside which meant we could sit and enjoy the glorious weather that we were lucky to have this weekend! Perfect location for Wrights and a lovely walk to the castle and river nearby! Would definitely recommend a stay!

Beautifully converted, self-contained cartshed in rural Carmarthenshire.
You are very welcome to come and stay in our converted former cartshed on our smallholding near Gelli Aur (Golden Grove.) The cartshed is fully self-contained and has its own walled patio area. It is very quiet here, with most noise coming from the sheep and the chickens.
This is a beautiful part of rural Carmarthenshire, with views from the patio towards Carreg Cennen castle and the Brecon Beacons. We are within easy driving distance of most of the attractions in South West Wales.

The cottage has everything you need for a short stay and is in a beautiful location. Our daughter loved the sheep. We have already recommended this place to family and friends and no doubt will be back soon.

  • My boyfriend and I loved Aled’s Tiny Home! It’s such a great place, very cosy and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay. There was bread and milk on arrival which was a thoughtful touch. Aled was very helpful and always quick at responding if we had any queries or needed anything. The location is amazing and so quiet with great places close by to eat. We loved Wrights Food Emporium so definitely a place to check out. We booked a tiny home for the experience and definitely loved it and would do it again. Thank you again for hosting us! :)

  • We had a fantastic stay at the tiny house, Aled and his family were super welcoming and gave us lots of insight into the local area. This was a great escape from the city, really relaxing & lots of delicious Welsh food to be found in neighbouring villages. Thanks Aled for a brilliant stay! Connie and Tom x

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Tiny House! It has a very stylish design and the space is used well. There is a log burner, cooking facilities and a comfortable sofa and bed with toilet and shower facilities very close by. Everything was as it was shown in the pictures and we will definitely be returning in the future.

    Sam2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house really is a beautiful place to stay. Super stylish, spotless, comfy and cosy with lovely friendly touches like fresh bread and milk left for us and a welcome from Aled the owner. We would definitely recommend staying here and I'm sure we'll do so again - with local pubs and Wrights restaurant, along with gorgeous views whats not to love!

Large self contained annexe house with beautiful countryside views. Two large ensuite bedrooms. Large cosy lounge, kitchen/diner. Downstairs w.c. Parking on main drive. Use of barbecue. Situated in a pretty village with post office and shop at bottom of hill and two excellent pub/restaurants a 5 min walk away. One being the oldest pub in wales distilling it’s own beers, gins, vodkas. Also a large beer garden. Carmarthen is a 10 min drive.
The annexe is a light filled accommodation in a peaceful location with only the birds outside making the most noise. There is a garden bench at the front of the property and weather prevailing, sun chairs, outside table and use of the barbecue.
We are close to the A484 so very direct to find. It means only turning off the motorway and Llanddarog is there. Although you would never know when in the village as there is no noise from the motorway.
  • We had a great stay at Sonia's. The house is spotless and really spacious. Sonia gave us great directions and was very accommodating around our arrival time - somewhat difficult to predict on a long journey on a Friday evening! She was very friendly and helpful throughout and had put some breakfast and other food essentials in the kitchen for us which was a lovely touch. The house is in a handy location - not far off the motorway but in a lovely quiet location with a lovely view. Highly recommended.

  • Super place to stay. Extremely comfortable with amazing views, especially at sundown. Great hosts. Kids loved it and we will definitely be returning!

    Sarah2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is exactly as described, Sonia leaves you some helpful items - cereal, bread, butter, milk, preserves - so you don’t need to rush out and get anything. Two good pubs in sight and a five minute walk away. Spotlessly clean and spacious. We will go back again.

    Ria2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stay. Sonia even put up a Christmas tree for us for Christmas Day which was really appreciated by the kids.

  • Highly recommend staying here. Very clean and well maintained - photos don’t do it justice. Sonia was friendly and welcoming with good communication throughout the process. Sonia also left us some bread, milk, butter, etc. which was a lovely touch. We were able to park easily on the drive, use the side entrance to access the property and come and go as we pleased. Great views, very quiet area. Good transport links to local supermarkets and towns and also tourist areas (Tenby, etc.). A great trip.

    Emma2018-08-31T00:00:00Z

On the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and overlooking Dynefwr Castle in the Towy Valley, lies The Old Forge, a one bedroomed rural retreat. Lovingly converted from an old blacksmith's forge, to create a haven of comfort, character and charm. Its furnished, walled garden area provides the perfect spot to relax and rest those tired feet after a day exploring the stunning countryside such as the Beacons, the Welsh Fans, one of the many local castles or the Pembrokeshire coast footpath.
The living area beneath its impressive vaulted, beamed ceiling offers all the comforts you'll need for relaxing after days out. The kitchen is fitted with electric oven; ceramic hob; microwave and fridge with freezer compartment, and plenty of storage units. There is a breakfast bar and dining table. Just a 30 minute drive will take you to the Millennium Coastal Park, occupying around 10 miles of coastline on the Burry Estuary. The park offers superb views along its length of the Gower Peninsula – the first designated area of outstanding natural beauty in the UK. The Millenium Coastal Park offers a continuous traffic free cycle/footpath that links with the National Cycle Network; the National Wetlands Centre for Wales, and a championship links golf course. For those wanting to follow in the footsteps of the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, the beautiful village of Laugharne is a short drive away, where you can visit the boathouse, his writing shed (preserved as if he's just stepped outside) and Brown's Hotel. What better way to explore this part of Wales than by bike. Cycle along parts of the nearby National Cycle Network taking in beautiful scenery at a leisurely pace. For those seeking adventure, Carmarthenshire has become one of the most exciting places for the fast-growing sport of mountain biking: Brechfa Forest with its nationally renowned network of trails, is only 15 minutes away by car.
  • Bron and Steve are great people very welcoming, nice place to stay, would be more than happy to stay again.

    Jonathan2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great private cottage with everything you need. The various castle ruins in the nearby valley are worth a visit.

    Toby2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Bron’s place is really wonderful. There are little sheep in the back garden and all the utensils and amenities are great. Off road parking is just outside the little cottage. Pembrokeshire coast park is about an hour and a half away and central Brecons Beacons is about 40 minutes away which is quite accessible. I would 100% recommend Brons place to anyone looking to see the beauty that Wales has to offer!

    Marisa2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • A perfectly proportioned tiny house! The Forge has everything you need for a stay away from home with the added interest of sheep grazing just yards away from the back door. Bron was an excellent host from the start providing very accurate and easy to following directions to the Forge and keeping in touch regarding check in etc. Both Bron and Steve gave a warm welcome and are not far away should you require assistance in any way. Tea, coffee a little jug of milk and some very tasty goodies were provided to welcome our arrival. The Forge is very well situated to visit some of the main attractions of the area. We went specifically for the National Botanic Gardens which were truly amazing. If you visit there be sure to also visit the Bird of Prey Centre during one of their flight displays. An incredible sight and very interesting commentary. All in all a very pleasant stay . Although it rained we can't complain because after all that's why Wales is so beautful and green!

    Sian2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Forge is an exceptionally, clean, cosy home away from home. Everything you need and more is catered for. Loved the homemade treats. Wonderful hosts who helped guide us to the best sights close by and beyond. Highly recommend.

  • Bron's place is amazing. There were some home made flapjacks waiting for us which we took with us on our bike ride! The place was spotless clean, and had everything you need. We loved staying there, conveniently close to the Brecons and the coast. Would definitely stay again if we're back that way!
