"Das Blockhaus" - cozy, authentic German log cabin

Studio sized log cabin with direct access to Hayward Lake and located just 3.5 miles from the Hatchery Creek Trailhead (Birkie Trail and CAMBA mountain bike trail access at this trailhead). Or you could go hang out at the city beach just half a mile away or launch your boat at the public launch (same place). Also just a short walk to downtown for great coffee, food and drink. The dog-friendly Hollywood Hills Chalet is a charming guest cabin that provides opportunities to ski, snowshoe, fat bike, MTB and hike out the door on our neighborhood trail network that is groomed in the winter. In warmer weather, the Namekagon River is less than a mile away and nearby Silverthorn Lake Park in Seeley offers great opportunities to paddle, or just chill on a family-friendly beach. Enjoy summer lake life on a quiet bay of one of Hayward's premier lakes. The bay is home to loons, bald eagles, owls, deer, otters, ducks, and frogs as well as an occasional bear. Beyond the bay, Round Lake is renowned for boating, fishing, and swimming (NOTE: The shoreline in front of the house is not good for swimming). Take one of our provided kayaks (there's 2 of them) and make your way to the nearby sandbar or across the lake to the island to swim, picnic, and play.
