  • Angela was a wonderful host especially when it came to navigating a tricky situation. She responded quickly and was helpful and communicative.

    Aethena2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place to stay! It's close to downtown, close to Tandem bakery/coffee shop and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants that Portland has to offer. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is lovely, everything is so clean and self check in is easy with a combo lockset. It also has the cutest little travel iron we've ever seen. The listing is accurate, the spiral staircase is very fun but would not be easy to navigate if one was obese or had had too much to drink, especially at night. It requires a little focus and intention but we loved it! The availability of Netflix was a plus! Great little place!

    Vanessa2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable place, great location, fun space, fantastic shower. Bed was very comfortable.

  • Angela's place was very clean & cozy. It's a great location & she has so many nice touches that really make you feel comfortable & at home.

    Sara2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Angela’s place was cute and perfect for what we needed! The parking map was super helpful, as was the binder with all the local suggestions. The shower is great and I loved the spiral staircase - super cute! It was easy to call Lyft whenever we needed a ride and left the car parked in the street with free parking all weekend. Definitely a good spot to stay in Portland!

    Meghan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Angela’s description is exactly right! Port City is within walking distance to a lot of great things to do, see & eat. We love Portland and would definitely stay here again in the future!

    Julie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's place was great. It was exactly as described so there were no surprises! The apartment was small, but it was a perfect space for our time there. The bathroom was amazing and the bed was super comfortable. The binder that was made was such a thoughtful and helpful touch. I plan to stay here again during the summer months, but even in the winter it was still in such a walkable location. I definitely recommend this place!

License#STHR0011152019 Spacious 1 bedroom w/living room, eat-in kitchen and bath in ideal Portland peninsula location, walk to all. situated on the edge of the west end and downtown. 2 blocks from the ocean. Walk everywhere in this central, historic, perfect location. Easy street parking. Simple furnishings, older retro flair. 2nd floor of 3 unit Victorian on dead end, quiet street. Queen bed and futon sleeps up to four. There is no parking but often spaces are available on this dead end street
Please read carefully: This is a well-loved apartment in an 1875 building full of sunlight, with Hardwood floors and tall ceilings, you'll be in a classic Portland "triple decker" Victorian building surrounded by the stunning architecture of portland's historic west end. You can walk anywhere in town within minutes. Basic kitchen and bathroom essentials provided. One queen memory foam bed and one fouton can sleep up to four. Large living space-this is an older apartment with older kitchen and bath-it is simple-not luxurious or modern-but it is clean and in the best location. Please appreciate the value of my space-that it is affordable, clean and large, with a retro flare and in a very desirable neighborhood, walking distance to everything on the peninsula. however, be advised, there is no tv and towels do not match and I have never been to ikea. This is the 2nd floor of a 3 unit and the second floor walk-up has steep steps, consider this if you have mobility issues. One Window a/c unit in bedroom, radiator heat (steam heat=white noise which apparently bothers some) I live below and tenants live on the third floor-you will hear occasional sounds throughout the building from residents and even though it is a quiet street you may still hear people on the street (it is an apartment in a city-after all). There is no parking for air bnb-even though there is a driveway-the spaces belong to tenants...guests parking in the driveway for a few minutes to unload luggage is fine..guests have usually been able to park easily right on my street at no cost. Street parking is free on most streets in the neighborhood-Just read the signs as there are usually 2 nights a month overnight parking is not allowed on certain streets for cleaning. Guests arriving late in the evening may have trouble finding street parking. There is also a $5 daily parking lot on commercial street next to Irving gas station about a 3 minute walk. This is a quiet building and no partying is allowed. The apartment is located on a dead end street off park street on the right called Stetson ct-it is a block away from the landmark historic Victorian mansion on park street and danforth. Additionally, early check-in or late check-out can most likely be accommodated with a $20 fee. That said anyone staying beyond the 11 am check out for whatever circumstances will receive a $20 payment request.. Thanks
Portland's west end is such an amazing neighborhood, wandering through these tree lined streets filled with incredible architecture is one of my favorite pastimes. Smile at everyone out for a stroll and enjoy the beauty and character surrounding you. Rosemont market, oh no cafe, and speckled axe coffee are all staples of the west end. Commercial street is two blocks away and uptown or downtown are both 10 minute walks.
  • My sister and I stayed with Sharon last minute and it was the perfect place for us! Her space is simple and has a lot of historical charm. It’s in a great location- easy to get around and close to everything. Sharon was quick to respond and check in was super easy even when we got into Portland late at night. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Great stay in downtown Portland!!

    Axel2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon's place is in the best location in Portland! The house itself is incredibly charming and clean with thoughtful touches such as toiletries and dishware that plenty of other properties omit. If I ever find myself back in Portland I will be sure to plan it around when this property is available. An absolute fantastic value and superior experience! Thank you so much, Sharon!

The Captain's Quarters is a master suite located in a nice quiet residential neighborhood in the heart of Scarborough. It is close to the beaches, lighthouses and downtown Portland. This suite is set up like a small studio with its own door, a master bedroom, private bathroom and cozy dining area. We are Maine natives and live in the house. We love the area we live in and like to make ourselves available for advice on all the great sights and food the Portland area has to offer.
Life in Maine has always been linked to the water, whether it be Maine's plentiful lakes or the vast Atlantic Ocean. We wanted to create a space that captured this nautical theme.
We live in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood. The area is great for walking, running and biking and we encourage you to get our and explore the neighborhood.
  • Katie was very accommodating. The place was very clean and comfortable. Perfect for what we needed

    Sherry2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculate space! Very quiet with thoughtful amenities!

    Wendy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, bright, clean, peaceful spot in the trees with lovely views, yet close to all the amenities. Katie, Nick and their two little children are friendly, gracious hosts. We give it our highest recommendation!

  • Amazing place. My wife and I are thinking about returning to Portland, ME and will be looking into this place again.

    Edgar2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Katherine's place. It is a great location in a quiet neighborhood and close to the beaches and Portland. It was perfect for our needs. We met both Katie and Nick and they both were pleasant and accommodating. Ralph and Maggie

  • Lovely room with everything one would need for a comfortable stay. Extremely quiet room.

    Mary-Lou2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This little 1 bedroom is perfect for a couple or couple with baby (as we are). Katie had the pack n play set up for us and also a high chair which saved us from carrying extra items into the house. The place is so cozy, super clean and just right for a great sleep after a long travel day/week. Katie was so friendly and had lots of tips and info to share about the area. She even saved us with a battery jump when our car died!! The home is on a quiet street in a tucked away neighborhood, but within 15-20 minutes of all nearby attractions/towns. The entrance is through their main home, so you may get to say hi to one of her kids and smell yummy cooking! But otherwise it's private and lovely.

    Gina2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely ADORABLE!! My wife and I came for a babymoon and we could not have been more pleased. The place is filled with thoughtful touches, tremendous hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere. When we were out out on the town, we admittedly wanted to come back to our AirBnb! It's in a very convenient location, as it is just minutes away from downtown Portland! We are also just a short drive to the LL Bean store, which we went to twice! On a side note, my wife needed another pillow because she is is 22 weeks pregnant. Katherine went OUT OF HER WAY to make sure that my wife had another pillow. We just appreciate the hospitality and truly felt at home. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to experience true bliss in New England.

Bigger than expected and really airy we had a fantastic stay - the sound of the surf really does lull you to sleep yet the bright lights of the town are just a walk away! David was a great host and great at answering our questions - thank you!

This is a newly renovated apartment on the 2nd floor of my building and is above an existing Airbnb unit that has been a great hit for the past 2 years and holds a 4.5 star rating w/ over 300+ reviews! It's in walking distance to everything Portland has to offer! It's an older building and has a lot character!
As old as the building is, the 2nd floor sags to the left when you first walk in and levels out to the center of the room and the 3rd floor bedrooms are level. We recycle in the entryway hallway, so you will see the bins when you walk in. Parking is as follows, there is parking for 1 vehicle, but we always tell our guests to check the street first, as it’s free parking and typically not an issue finding a spot in the neighborhood.
It's a safe neighborhood, with the Maine's largest hospital 200 yards up the street and the city's largest park 200 yards down the street.
  • My three friends and I stayed at Nick’s Place for a weekend girls trip to explore Portland! We had a great experience during our stay. This apartment was located in a great spot. It was within walking distance from many great restaurants and coffee shops on Congress Street, it is even right around the corner from the Holy Donut (the highlight of our experience). It is within walking from Commercial Street as well, but a little further. We walked some days but also took a quick cheap uber some days/nights! Overall a great location to stay if you are looking to be right in the heart of Portland! Nick was a great host! The apartment was clean and nicely furnished. The check in/check out process was super easy! We would definitely consider staying with Nick again for a future trip!

    Karlsen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • For me, traveling on a tight budget, my favorite part was the full kitchen, as I could prep meals during my stay instead of always eating out. Grocery stores (including Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods) are only a couple of minutes away by car- very convenient! The skylights are a really charming feature, and things are decorated so nicely. I felt right at home!

Come stay at our perfect home away from home while you explore Portland! The location is to die for - walking distance to all of downtown. Central to beaches & outdoor activities. Recently renovated head to toe. Gorgeous finishes, all new furniture. The only thing that isn't new are the windows because we're in the historic district and they won't let us change them! Think charming old mansions and historical architecture.
This space is tranquil and convenient. Everything you could need, nothing you don't. It is a small apartment, but well laid out and comfortable. Everything is new as we recently renovated head to toe. The only thing we didn't update are the windows because we're in the historic district and the preserve board won't allow us to change them!
GREAT neighborhood! We are in the historic district and surrounded by beautiful old homes and brick mansions. We're also right around the corner from Longfellow Square, filled with great restaurants, bars, shops, small live music venues. Longfellow Sq is in the Arts district, home to Portland's best galleries and the Portland Art Museum. We neighbor the Old Port, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from our home. Here are some other landmarks that are helpful... *** About 5 blocks from the Portland Museum of Art and handfuls of galleries. *** Just a couple minutes any direction to great coffee shops, breakfast spots, and my personal favorites, Tandem and Holy Donut. ***Just a couple of blocks South of Deering Oaks Park and a couple of blocks North of the Western Promenade. Both are great parks for walking or watching the sunset. *** Just a couple of blocks from Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital. A short 10-15 minute walk to USM and to the 3 grocery stores in Portland (Whole Foods, Hannaford, Trader Joes). ***A short 5 minute walk to the Seadogs Baseball Stadium and 10 minutes to the Civic Center. ***3.7 miles to the closest beach; 7-10 miles to 3 more beaches and Two Lights State Park on the ocean. 4 Miles to Fort Williams Park and Portland Head Light on the ocean. *** 15-20 minute drive to the airport (about $15-20 for a taxi or Uber)

A couple reallyyyy good restauraunts right by the apartment: Boda for late night thai food, Bayside American cafe for brunch and Hot Suppa for breakfast were a few of our favorites! We would definitely stay at Nova's place again, thanks Nova!!!

Click 'Peter & Sabrina's Guidebook' below for my local recommendations. Hinckley Park is a couple of well placed 9 irons away and is an official unofficial dog park. It is quite literally just around the corner from us.
  • I’ve probably stayed at 20 Airbnb’s at this point, and I would say that Peter & Sabrina put the most thought into making the space as comfortable as possible out of all the Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at.

    Luca2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an wonderful stay at Peter & Sabrina’s place. The rooms were clean and organized. Peter and Sabrina were accommodating, communicative and friendly. Would stay here again.

The room is visually pleasing, with high ceilings, crown molding, bay windows, hardwood floors, a king sized bed, sitting area, table and chairs for eating or working, bureau for clothes storage, and all linens provided. There is no full kitchen in the room, but a mini-fridge, toaster oven, electric water kettle, coffee pot and carafe, dishes and utensils are available. • Michelle's place is clean, comfy and located in the heart of Portland. We were able to walk around downtown Portland. And Michelle responded quickly when I had a question. Thank you, Michelle.

    Lisa2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is ADORABLE. I stayed for one night with my sister and would definitely stay here again. Michelle is super helpful and easy to communicate with, the location has a dedicated parking spot, and it’s within walking (or cheap ubering) distance to pretty much anywhere you could want to go. So glad I found this place!

    Jessica2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for my one-night stay in Portland. It’s a short ride from the airport and within walking distance to both downtown and the Greyhound station. It’s a small, cozy spot for one or two people. The WiFi is strong, too.

    Jerad2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location, super convenient. Easy walk to bustling city center, great restaurants, but quiet and safe - ‘urban retreat’ is excellent description.

    Jennifer2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome space and location! It's tiny but cute, and it's a great starting point to see the city! There's a single room and a small bathroom, but there's a cute sitting area in the room and tons of space to put your luggage.

    Alyxandra2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at! I work from home and the Internet was very fast, neighborhood and building very quiet, and tons of natural light in the studio that made it a wonderful place to work. The bed was also super comfortable and the pour over coffee was delicious! Would definitely return!

Beautiful, spacious, 1 bedroom heart of the city urban apartment featuring 12 foot ceilings, high end kitchen and bath, refinished hardwood floors in a location that is absolutely terrific. Amazing City Scape Views! Sleeps 3 : 1 Bedroom with queen bed and there is a Futon in small auxiliary room.
Although a lot of places are called "great locations" it's truly hard to beat this one. We are next door to two coffee shops two restaurants, around the corner (literally) from one of the best coffee spots in town. 50 feet from a bakery, a well known donut shop, a one minute walk to a movie theatre and less than a minute to the Public Market House. Even a men’s and woman’s hair Salon are less than a half minute walk! Portland's Old Port is two blocks away.
  • Chris’s place is a great spot to enjoy all that downtown Portland has to offer. Just a short walk to many of the restaurants and bars. Apartment was very clean and and nice appointed.

    Cameron2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’s place was a perfect location for our first time to Portland. It is less than a half a mile walk to everywhere we wanted to go and it was a great, centralized home base. Will definitely be back!

    Flannery2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’s place is modern with classic touches. It is in a central location allowing for easy access to many tourist attractions as well as local gems. We used Uber to get around and fares were cheap because of the great location. It’s 2nd floor walk up right downtown, a large bedroom, updated kitchen, and beautiful large widows. Although the windows could use curtains for at night, it did not change my opinion of the place overall. Definitely would recommend!

  • Great place, would stay again.

The neighborhood is wonderful. The people are so welcoming and friendly. There are sidewalks along the road for walking or riding bikes. The public access to the beach is directly across the street from the studio. Less than a two minute walk. It is truly a quaint seaside village situated between many other beautiful Maine destinations. It is approximately 12-13 miles from in town Portland going north, and about 30-35 minutes to Kennebunkport going south. Along with many many other beautiful places to visit in Maine and along our coast.
  • If you are in the area, this is the place to stay. It was such a cute and well put together place. The amenities were great. The location could not have been better. And let’s not forget the amazing lobster!

    Brandy 2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Pamela’s place is well appointed. There are towels and bedding for the maximum 3 occupancy and a kitchen that has everything you would ever need to prepare your meals if you like. There are several restaurants nearby, many that say they are open year round. She keeps the space sparkling clean. The location is great and the beach is beautiful. The bed is pretty hard so if you prefer a softer sleep you may not get your zzzzz’s.

    Cat2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was a clean, cozy place to stay. It’s right across the street from the ocean, only 15 minutes away from downtown Portland, and Pamela was very responsive. I would stay here again.

    Chad2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was expected as explained in the description. Pam was a quick communicator and we were able to get a tasty lobster dinner one night from Mark the co-host of the Airbnb.

    Danielle2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place ! Super good location, close to the beach. Great hosts, very friendly !

    Paul2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cozy studio in the midst of Pine Point. Nice deck for dining and relaxing. Hosts are welcoming but provide a quiet, private space. And you can enjoy fresh lobster from their home business!

    Holly2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice apartment near the beach. Very simple communication with Pamela. The apartment is very clean and super well equipped. We stayed 4 nights with our 4 year old daughter and it was ideal for our needs. I would come back without hesitating.

    Alexandre2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Travelers, you can expect a small but well appointed space to stay when you reserve time at Pamela’s place! Perfect for two, though you can fit three comfortably as we did. Public access to the sandy ocean beach is just across the road, and there are several fresh seafood restaurants also within walking distance. If you’re lucky, Mark the lobsterman will have a couple lobsters left from his catch of the day, which he’ll then cook for you! This was a wonderful place to stay!

Our apartment is located in the historic Parkside neighborhood of Portland. Portland is full of wonderful parks and green spaces in fact, we are located right around the block from the beautiful Deering Oaks Park where they hold a Saturday Farmer's Market during the summer and a short distance from the beautiful Eastern Promenade. The State Theatre, Port City Music Hall, and Thompson's Point hold great shows throughout the year. The Nickelodeon movie theater in downtown Portland has $5 shows on Tuesdays! In terms of food, it is hard NOT to find a restaurant in Portland that is not farm-to-table and locally grown and there are so many types of international cuisine to try during your time here. Wake up and grab a donut from the famous Holy Donut right down the street. Grab some brunch from Bayside American Cafe just a 5 minute walk from the apartment. There are so many options for food including vegan and vegetarian options, please let us know if you'd like additional suggestions. • Perfect apartment for a getaway in Portland! Everything was as described on the listing, Daniel was great with communicating, and we had a lovely stay.

  • Amazing spot.

    Max2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel and Ben don’t live in the area but they are super great at communicating throughout the process. They gave us a bunch of info before and during the whole booking process as well as before and during our stay. The place is a decent distance from everything, although if it’s really cold out in the winter you might want to drive to some of the farther places. The neighborhood is nice and very close to Holy Donut. There is a bunch of information in the form of brochures and pamphlets and Ben and Daniel are very responsive by message if you ever need anything or have any questions. The whole appt is very clean and cozy, the only thing I would change is to maybe have different pillows. The pillows on the bed are pretty hard/dense so if you’re not the type to prefer that type of pillow it could be difficult to get comfortable. (Disclaimer there may be some different extra pillows in the closet , I didn’t check but if there is then disregard this part). Overall Portland is a great city and we hope to be back soon! We plan on trying to stay at Daniel and Bens place next time we are around.

This is a third-floor apartment. Spacious living room and kitchen. Great for relaxing after a long day of touring the city. Full-bath/shower. The bedroom has slanted ceilings, but it is perfect for crashing after a long day of exploring Portland. This is not a hotel. This is a converted apartment in a really cool location at a reasonable price.
Located in the heart of the west end, our apartment is a hop, skip, and a jump away from hundreds of local restaurants and bars. But at the same time we’re only a five minute walk away from the western promenade.
  • This is my third time staying in Portland, the first time was a hotel and this is my second Airbnb and I've got to give this one the best review for location. If you want a very walkable vacation, stay here. It's very clean, cute and cozy and so conveniently located to entertainment, food and bars whatever time of day you're looking for them.

  • A cozy, clean place. Great location, easy check in. All around great experience for a short stay.

    Paul2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this apartment really can’t be beat. Convenient to all that downtown Portland has to offer. As others have noted, the space has some quirks but for a pair of folks under 5’3 it was just fine! We worried some about the one hour parking signs but left our car on the street all day on Saturday without an issue.

    Katherine2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment in an historic neighborhood. Very quiet area. Right near a beautiful park. Our stay included ice skating there with our grandson! There's also a farmer's market in the spring/summer/fall. The apartment is just a few blocks from the main strip, Congress Avenue, loaded with restaurants, book stores, antique shops and other amenities. The furnishings create a calm atmosphere, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is great to work in. Very light and airy overall. Highly recommended. The hosts are super responsive to queries.

This large comfy, furnished room is the perfect place to rest up after a day of touring around or enjoying one of Maine’s many beaches or parks. You will have everything you need to refresh and recharge. Located in a quiet neighborhood free of traffic and highway noise, you can enjoy all the bustling coast has to offer but be away from the noise to relax for the evening. (Sorry...heated in-ground swimming pool closed for season.) the large room has a queen bed plus a single pull out sofa bed.
We are about 6-7 miles to the beautiful beach at Pine Point and just over 8 miles to Old Orchard Beach. You can enjoy some of the greatest beaches in the northeast! A few of our favorite places to go to are “Scarborough Grounds” (great coffee and not a big chain), “O’Reilly’s Cure”, and “Dunstan Tap and Table” for great places to eat/drink. We are also just 10 miles to Portland's "Old Port" and all that this city within a City has to offer! Great Music, food, and craft beers for starters!
  • Very large room in a peaceful neighborhood. Wonderful hosts, and a v cute dog :-)

  • Super convenient location, and what you see in the photos is what you get. Very comfortable, clean, relaxing apartment, with very handy on-site parking.

    Hank2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect isn’t even the word! It’s located at a walking distance to so many shops including hot suppa, boda and even a 7/11 for a late night bite. The place itself is awesome. Parking right out back, entrance steps away, kitchen was big with all the necessary things for a quick breakfast, living room was perfect size, roku on tv, bed was behind a wall but so perfectly well put - gave the right amount of privacy, the bathroom was very roomy although the shower itself is a little small still gets the job done, washer/dryer came in handy. Like i said perfect is not even the word! We will definitely be coming back. So much we didn’t get to do in our 3 days. Only a short 5-10 min drive to some great water view restaurants - Luke’s, DiMillos. Brian was super quick to respond when we needed an extra hour to check out.

  • We rented this cottage for my niece and her young family. From Florida, they wanted to see Maine in the winter. The house, with the bunk bed room, was the perfect size for them. A perfect place to return to after a day of beach walks, ice skating and sledding. They slept well. I hope they come back in summer to see Higgins in its real colors!

Welcome to The Skolfield Inn! ROOM 2: In this room you can relax on the couch with a book or snuggle up in bed to watch Netflix. While the room is bright and spacious, the bathroom is what keeps people coming back for more! With a double vanity, large marble glassed in shower, and original hardwood floors, you will look forward to your own little spa-like oasis. This room also comes with one, off street parking spot (cannot support larger SUVs/trucks).
Built in 1895, this John Calvin Stevens home still has many original features unique to the famous architect. Commissioned by John T. Skolfield, the single family home was converted to an inn and opened for business in 2019. We are located in the West End, just over a mile southwest of the Old Port in the historic neighborhood known for its elaborate Victorian-era architecture. Our neighborhood offers you the tranquility of the Western Promenade, an 18-acre park offering scenic views and walking paths, in tandem with a host of popular restaurants and cafes, all within easy walking distance. The neighboring Arts District and Old Port offer plenty to explore on foot, including museums, art galleries, theaters, restaurants, shops, and bars. With just four guest rooms, our inn offers a peaceful stay, satisfying social guests or those seeking solace. Your private room is furnished with a queen sized bed, television (no cable, just smart TV with Netflix account), white noise machine, and a reading chair (or couch depending on the room). Off street parking is available, cannot support larger SUVs/trucks, and being competent in reverse is a plus! For those with large vehicles, street parking is readily available in front of the inn from 4pm-10am for overnight guests (outside these hours are hourly restrictions). A half mile away is residential street parking which is free and has no hourly restrictions for those staying longer than a night.

The Inn is definitely very quiet, so perfect if you want some peace and quiet during your trip. The room was spotless and the bathroom massive! Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Portland!

    MacKenzie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Katrina made our stay extremely comfortable! She was very easy to communicate with, and provided all of the information in detail for self check-in and check out. I would definitely recommend this inn for your stay in Portland!

This small, cozy, fully functional one bedroom apartment is walking distance to everything that the city of Portland has to offer. It's an older building with a lot of character.
There is parking for 1 vehicle, but we always tell our guests to check the street first, as it’s free parking and typically not an issue finding a spot in the neighborhood.
It's easy to get to wherever you're going.

Easily walk to many more.

  • Tom's space was excellent. The apartment is cute and well furnished. It was a lovely spot for a romantic weekend getaway for me and my partner. If you're a light sleeper, the only downside is that the street it's on had a lot of vehicle noise, but this wasn't a big deal for us. The location was otherwise perfect. It was brilliant to be less than 10 minutes' walk from some of Portland's best restaurants in the old port. We didn't meet Tom, but he was very prompt in responding to my queries throughout the weekend.

A comfortable, bright room with a spectacular view of the Fore River, in easy walking distance of the Old Port and the Arts District, on a quiet cul-de-sac in the Portland's lovely West End. (Portland City License # STHR-002050-2019)
As our only guest, you have a comfortable, light, second floor room in our "more than a hundred years old" house. Old Maine charm, wide board floors, great views of the Fore River Estuary and a quiet dead-end street all make this location a great place to stay while you explore Portland and the surrounding areas. We are in walking distance from Portland's Arts District and its charming Old Port. We are also very close to both its major hospitals. Three generations live here. The house is generally quiet and peaceful but on the days when my granddaughter is with us it becomes more boisterous and lively. On those days one can expect to hear the usual sounds one associates with young children. If your plans include sleeping late on quiet mornings please be sure to check with us about the dates to see if they coincide with her visits or not. (We want your stay to be enjoyable!) The room has a queen size bed. There is a natural gas heater in the room so you can keep it comfortable. You would share the upstairs bathroom. There is a rather steep staircase to reach the second floor. (Have a look at the pictures to see it). This can be a challenge with large luggage or those who have difficulty with stairs. We are not a good options for folks with mobility issues.
The West End is one of the best places to live in Portland. It has tons of historic old houses, with lovely gardens and interesting architecture. It's the perfect place to walk around and take in the city. As you do, you'll find the West End Promenade, with views west as far as the White Mountains on clear days. There are schools, shops, and gourmet and everyday restaurants. You can get a pizza to bring home or sit at an outdoor table as you enjoy a variety of cuisines. It can be noisy at times. During the day you can hear trains and trucks below on Commercial street, jets overhead, and tugboats honking out in the harbor which you can see from my back porch.
  • Wonderful historic home in an amazing location. Check in and communication with host was perfect. The view was amazing, loved it!!

    Alex2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is the coziest and warmest space. Waking up to the sunrise over the water was just the cherry on top of a great room. The area is about a 20 minute walk to downtown restaurants and venues. Marsha and Krista were wonderful hosts that thought of everything :)

    Jenny2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay with Marsha - we appreciated the nice touches (e.g., coffee, tea). It was a ~15-20 minute walk to downtown Portland. Check in was easy and Marsha was communicative. The only downside is having to walk through the backyard in the snow and up a tiny staircase (as noted in the listing).

  • I am so impressed with this place; it was a beautiful space, very close to downtown but also easy to get to any of the main roads out of Portland, and such a great value. I loved having off-street parking and Katrina was very clear and quick with her directions and responses. I would love to stay here again!

    Brian2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • All i gotta say: What an amazing area! The bed was comfy, the atmosphere was great, and the water was hot! Would definitely stay again. This place is the bee’s knees!! Right down the street, no, like literally right down the street from Congress and the main strip.

    Maggie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tom’s place made for a perfect two nights in Portland. The location is amazing and having a parking spot is really helpful. The apartment was clean and the loft bed was a great use of space. Tom was very responsive and accommodating. I would recommend this place! Can’t wait to return to Portland again soon.

Our home is near parks, nightlife, hospitals and the city center but located in a quiet neighborhood. You can walk to everything. It's very small, but quiet and has a separate entrance. If you want to socialize with us you can, but you also have privacy too. The house was built in 1894, so the room/ bathroom are older, has a clawfoot tub and is small. Many guests ask about off-street parking. We have it available for 5$ per night in a nearby lot.
Full size bed. Very comfortable double bed. The room is small!! Electric heaters are available for your use to supplement the heat. Did I say the room was small? Its small but really comfortable. The bathroom is older and has a clawfoot tub, so you must be able to lift your legs over a 24" lip. Water pressure is very good.
The West End is primarily residential, with apartments and single family homes. It is very safe. There are nearby convenience stores, markets and laundry mats. The hospitals are both a ten minute walk away.
  • The room was wonderful. I felt such peace being there. There was a private entrance and a private bath just next to the bedroom. There were extra toiletries provided both in the bathroom and the closet in the bedroom. I had packed hurriedly and forgotten a lot of things. There was also a Walgreen's very nearby, so I picked up additional items. A Lyft ride to more lively areas was only a few dollars.

    Kimberly2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis’s house was great! Was quiet small but still way enough room for me and my wife to stay comfortably. Everything worked great, was clean, and checkin/check out was very simple. Amazing location within walking distance to center of downtown Portland. Was a great cheaper stay for the night!

  • The apt is really nice, the bed is super comfortable, and it's easily walkable to everything downtown. Ralph was really friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

    Theresa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We are giving Ralph 5 stars even though we didn’t get to stay at his location due to unexpected maintenance issues with a furnace. However Ralph went above and beyond to make sure we got the trip we were looking forward to, he gave us number options to make sure we were able to find a suitable replacement. He gave us knowledge and places we need to see in the city. He was extremely hospitable and will for sure be booking another trip to Portland again soon to stay in Ralph’s air bnb!

    Gary2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph was an excellent host! It is very apparent he is extremely thorough and thoughtful when it comes to welcoming guests. He was very responsive and never left me hanging. My stay in Portland was short but his space definitely made it feel comfortable and cozy. It was very stylish and clean and very easy to feel at home at. His local recommendations were extensive and well researched. I would highly recommend this space!

    Ray2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment was larger than expected. Well furnished and had more than we could ask for when it came to appliances. The apartment is walking distance to the main restaurants and bars but if you choose to drive Uber’s were cheap (5-7 dollars) for everywhere we needed to go. Ralph is a great host, I plan on coming back to this apartment for any future visits. Highly recommend.

    Andrew2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place. Ralph was very responsive and attentive to detail.

    Regina2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Place was clean, well lit and extremely comfortable. Ample street parking and was located in a great area for walking to and from spots in Portland.

    Brandyn2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ralph is fast to respond and offers great local tips in his welcome packet. The place is very well decorated and super clean. Only thing is 2 hour parking is enforced 9-5 Mon-Sat. for street parking. It didn't impact us, but just something to be aware about when staying longer.

    Ben2020-01-11T00:00:00Z

  • Nice, cozy place with everything we needed. Took our dog for a walk down by the pond on the way to Holy Donut. The apartment was clean, bright and worked well for us. Would stay again!

    Blake2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my time spent here. Had the pleasure of working with Palo who was quick to respond to every message I sent. Love that it has its own parking spot, and that it can be seen through the window. Not that one would have to worry about anything since it’s a nice area, just a plus for piece of mind; and since it’s located in such a great spot, you can pretty much just leave it there. Really clean and had a nice aesthetic. Would definitely come back, as well as recommend.

    Brian2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect spot for a long weekend, great for a couple and dog. Cozy comfortable studio in a nice location right by Deering Oaks park. Key free entry and very respond host. We would definitely come back to this place!

  • We were so pleased to stay in this space for our Portland getaway. Such a perfect location! Easily able to walk to the downtown area, and the parking space in the driveway is a major plus. We also loved the cleanliness and coziness of the space. Our hosts were also quick to communicate with us when we had a question, and check in was very easy. Definitely suggest this place. We plan to come back!

Note: On mobile, AirBnB greys out nights that are available to rent (you just can't start your trip on that night). Minimum night stay varies. Typically minimum stay is 2 nights during the week and 3 or 4 nights if a weekend night is included. We would appreciate if guests don't book trips that leave a single night open. That said, if the trip is within 2 weeks and you are firm on dates, feel free to book a trip that leaves a single night open.
A very functional all season rental. The off-season can be surprising very tranquil and calming; being in an elegant yet cozy condo, right on the ocean. The summer's are just amazing, as you are able to easily transition from the beach to the condo throughout the day during the summer. Go downstairs to the outdoor patio bar and listen to the live band at the famous Brunswick, or play volleyball on the courts directly in front of the unit and then come relax on your private oversized balcony and have a drink. Enjoy the year-round entertainment just steps away at the restaurant bar downstairs. Come and go with your designated parking space. No need to check-in, just use the pin code provided to easily enter the condo. The code is the only unit in the building with a keypad, so you don't have to worry about everyone having a key at all times. You are right in the middle of the action (on the beach just a minute or so walk to the pier) but have good privacy (the beach really can't see into the unit). You honestly feel like you are at the beach when just hanging out in the unit and on the private balcony. The condo is ideally located on the 3rd floor which allows you to be high enough to have privacy but low enough to see the beach while in the unit. The ceilings on the 3rd floor are also higher than the floors above, making the unit feel more open and connected with the beach. As an end-unit, the bedrooms have windows and are very private as they do not share a wall with any other condo. This unit has professionally installed ductless AC units (not overly common in the area) in both the living areas and bedrooms. Sleeping arrangements include a king in the master, two twins in the second bedroom (that can be combined into a queen), and a pull-out queen in the living room. All mattresses, including the pull-out, are quality. The doors throughout the condo are solid wood and the floors have sound board installed for added privacy. The unit is equipped with hand-made custom drapes and crown molding throughout. The bathroom includes marble flooring, luxury shower, with two shower heads, beautifully designed tile, built in shower bench and premium glass door. There is a fully equipped exotic kitchen with custom designed cabinetry, granite countertops, two bar stools, and all new stainless steel appliances with filtered water/ice maker. In-unit washer/dryer. 65" HD Smart TV with Amazon Prime, NetFlix and Live TV/Sports. High Speed Wifi. All season outdoor furniture on the large private balcony overlooking the beach with nice views of the pier. Old Orchard Beach town fireworks can be seen directly from the balcony every Thursday night during the summer - best seats in town! Condo is fully stocked with plenty of everything you need to make it a hassle-free trip, such as dish soap, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, sponges, trash bags, etc. In unit Keurig coffee/cappuccino maker with pods ready for your use! Building has elevator and is handicap accessible. Plants in the unit may vary. No pets allowed per association rules. The schedule for the year-round downstairs entertainment will vary depending on the season and night of the week. Typically live bands all year round on the weekends and every day during high season. Please only book this condo if you plan to treat it with respect. Thank you
  • Sameer has set the bar high for Airbnb expectations! His preparedness, detailed communicative responsiveness, and friendly honest demeanor made this first-time experience with Airbnb all the better. Sameer's responsiveness and the location of this condo and its views were what sealed the deal for me, the beach is literally behind the condo just some steps away and you can wake up to an unobstructed ocean view every single day. You can hear the crashing of the waves whenever you open the balcony doors, but you'll have silence when you close them. You can hear the music from the bar downstairs but it's bearable. If you come during the off-season though when the bar is closed though then it'll be pretty quiet throughout the whole day! Also, the balcony was impressively clean, I loved spending time sitting on the couch out on the balcony and taking in the beautiful day and night views of the ocean and the skies. With all the amenities provided, this condo felt like a vacation home, you had everything you needed in case you decide to buy groceries and save on some money from eating out. Despite the exterior looking a bit shabby, the interior of the condo was totally different and very clean. Having an in-unit washer and dryer was very convenient, along with being provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I'm so glad that I decided to take a chance on trying Airbnb and staying at this condo, I will definitely be staying here again in the near future! Thank you!

  • Location, location, location! Waking up to the beach when you first open your eyes, still in bed, is an amazing experience, even in winter. Sameer has decorated impeccably. The shower is state of the art. He also provides cable tv, washer/dryer, and dishes/stemware are categorized as casual or posh. Quite lovely all around.

  • Mitch and Tyra are a lovely couple and wonderful hosts. During my visit The Grey Lady's Parlor was furnished with a bed , couch and chair. Their home is very welcoming after a day out and about. Mitch provides information about whats going on in the community It's a nice beach community and the big city of Portland is very close by. It's a very short walk to the beach. If you are into hiking there are a few trails in the area . The combination of good people, location, a nice clean place and budget friendly makes this a must stay location. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Staying with Mitch and Tyra was great! They made sure I was comfortable and even took me out to show me around town!

    Luisa2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mitch and Tyra were wonderful hosts. They made me feel so welcome, even inviting me to join for Mitch's birthday brunch. They also offered to help with transportation into the Portland area as able, and provided me with helpful interventions when I got sick during my stay. Also, the value of the parlor is unbeatable and although I didn't have a 'room' so to speak, I still had the privacy I needed and they were very respectful.

  • From start to finish, communication with the host was excellent. Upon arriving, we felt the place far exceeded our expectations. The place was spotless and modern including the furniture, kitchen, kitchenware, bathroom etc. The host provided a pantry full of snacks (chips, chocolate, breakfast items, coffee, water, etc.). The Airbnb was in close proximity to all of Portland’s main attractions. Privacy was also not an issue and we felt very comfortable in the spacious apartment. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Portland and we’ll definitely stay when we’re back.

  • Marla was one of the best hosts I’ve had so far on air b n b. She accommodated my early check in and showed such hospitality! The driveway was cleared right away (we encountered a snow storm the night before). I would highly recommend this place for anyone stopping by Maine be it for one day or even an extended stay . I would definitely return again if I come back to Portland! It is nearby the airport and close enough to all the restaurants (ten min Lyft drive)

  • We really enjoyed our stay here! The place was very clean and had plenty of amenities for us. Very close to downtown but also in a quiet and convenient location. We would definitely stay here again!

  • When you see the perfect score on Maria’s profile, you can rest assure that those are genuine responses to the thoughtful touches Maria has made to the apartment.
