  • Wonderful host, perfect cosy space to relax and recharge. Duck Lodge was perfect for our needs! Top quality accommodation and amenities and a host that goes above and beyond. The breakfast was top notch! Duck Lodge is in a lovely friendly village, great for walks. And if you drive an electric car, there’s charging points nearby! I will definitely book again. Highly recommended.

  • The lodge was beautifully decorated and made for a lovely place to stay. The location is perfect - a short drive into Brighton, and in the middle of great country walks. Keith was so friendly and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed! Would definitely come again!

  • Amazing place to stay! Keith is a lovely, friendly host and was on hand if we needed him. Cosy cabin with everything you could possibly need... and more! Hot tub was amazing and great at night time. Would definitely recommend as it is great if you want somewhere to stay near Brighton!

    Katie2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing stay! Keith was brilliant and picked us up from the train station to take us to the lodge. We checked in early and left our bags and went on a lovely walk waiting for the lodge to be ready. We used the hottub in the rain (highly recommend!!) and enjoyed some Prosecco. Keith also recommended us a local pub and even dropped us off. The breakfast in the morning was sublime with about 10 different elements. Couldn’t recommend this place more for a couple who want an evening away to relax in the country side.

    Frances2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a fabulous stay! A very warm welcome from start to finish. The cabin is lovely & cosey. Perfect for a rainy day and we hope to return in the summer! 10/10 breakfast.

  • The place was immaculate. It had every little thing that we need. The place is just extremely comfortable and makes wanna own a log cabin. The food was very delicious and hot tub was so relaxing. I highly recommend the place as it has a nice view of the mount during day time and amazing sunset. The garden at night was just magical and we had a good privacy. Highly recommend the place especially for couples

Our timber clad garden pod is up-market glamping, with a view to the Downs. Close to Brighton and a walk across fields to the village. On sunny days, open up the folding sliding doors and enjoy a drink on the decking.
The pod is just over an hour from London and 20 minutes or so from Brighton. At the end of the garden of our Sussex farmhouse, the view is through the trees and towards the Downs. The pod has a comfortable double bed, sofa, table and chairs. There's a shower room and a small kitchen area, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle. (The hot water is from a small tank, so showers need to be very speedy, hence ‘glamping’ ) For heat, there's a wood-burning stove and a basic electric heater. It's just a few minutes walk across fields to the village of Hurstpierpoint, with several pubs and places to eat. You will have your own key and can come and go as you like. The pod uses the same driveway as the main house, with plenty of room for parking. The house is approached down a rutted farm track, so best not to bring a low slung car! Although there's no fencing between the pod area and the farmhouse garden, directly in front of the pod there's its own area of lawn and a magnolia tree, with a stream beyond. There's also easy access to a footpath to the village across a bridge in the garden. If you have a dog who can be trusted without fences, then he or she is welcome. We have a friendly black labrador called Monty. Tim, Pippa and family are very happy to help with any queries about the pod or beyond. Monty the labrador will almost certainly bring an old shoe to welcome you. We are close to the Downs National Park, as well as having Brighton 20 minutes away. So if you want to walk and visit the village, then it's easy. But it's equally easy to pop into Brighton for sea air or shopping. We are located close to the A23. The nearest station is Hassocks, which is 10/15 minutes by cab. This is the Brighton line to London Bridge/ Victoria. Gatwick airport is 30 minutes by car. There is a limited bus service to Brighton from the top of the track (10 minute walk to the bus stop from the pod). There's also cycle hire at the station in Hassocks: (URL HIDDEN) The pod has its quirks. Squirrels sometimes like to frolic on the flat roof and if it rains heavily with the wind in the wrong direction, you might get a bit of rain down the chimney. Of course, we think that the good quirks outweigh the imperfections. You will find eggs from our hens on the sideboard and a bowl of fruit when you arrive. Plus the ingredients for tea and coffee. The double bed will be made up and there will be clean towels.
We are close to the Downs National Park, as well as having Brighton 20 minutes away. So if you want to walk and visit the village, then it's easy. But it's equally easy to pop into Brighton for sea air or shopping.
  • My partner and I (along with our dog, Dougal) stayed in the Pod for a couple of nights in March. Pippa was an excellent host, she made sure the Pod was spotless for our arrival and made us feel at home on the farm whilst ensuring we had our privacy. The stylish, yet cosy pod was the perfect escape from our day to day lives in London. It's the perfect place to relax after a day of walking in the nearby South Downs - just light the fire and get stuck into one of the many books from the bookshelf. Plus, it's just a short walk away from Hurstpierpoint village which has a good choice of gastro pubs and restaurants. Look forward to staying again!

  • Lovely little spot, everything I needed, total privacy and relaxing space. Nice to know the hosts were there if I needed them but lovely to be left in peace, sweet touches with dairy supplies & flowers too. Mostly I just loved having the Woodburner for company. My dog and I had a much needed break, and I can recommend the area too. Great hosts, great space. Thank you

  • This was our first pod experience but have done a lot of camping/tenting. This is by far nicer. Loved being in the country, hostes were so kind and thoughtful. Felt right at home. Nice location to do quite a bit of sight seeing and just resting with a good book and warm fire. Took our two small dogs and it was perfect for them. No fencing but they are home bods so it was no problem they could go out with no fear of roads and explore. Lovely stream by pod . In summer it must be extra beautiful. So glad to have met this family, they crept into our hearts. Pod is private and away from their home so it was very nice for a rest and just time to unwinde. Can walk into town with lots if little places to eat. Large Tesco just+-2.5 miles away. Amazed what I could cook in just a microwave. Bottle of creamy milk from hostess was delicious. Thank you to Pippa and Tim.

  • Great communication and a lovely host, being flexible with an extra day at short notice. Lovely little space and the perfect way to end the day - peaceful and very relaxing. I stayed with my 2 dogs who had a great time and they loved the space. It is very comfortable and the perfect retreat. The extra touches were much appreciated and waking up to that view certainly started the day well!

  • Great little recluded get away still not to far from Brighton

    William2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was our second time at the tiny house and it was great again. Pippa and her husband are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place.

    Klara2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay, very accommodating hosts, peaceful little haven, very comfy bed with a lovely view and I loved making myself a little fire. The weather was torrential rain but it was still nice and cost. Definitely recommend thanks again Pippa and Tim.

    Mandy2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The pod was a great find for a couple of nights peace and quiet for my partner, our dog and I in the new year. We just wanted a retreat in the countryside with no tv. It was as described and we got really toasty with the log burner on! we did a 5 mile walk from the back garden (very muddy thanks to Pippa for the reminder to being wellies!) and walked to the Horse Inn for a lovely meal (10mins walk). Would defo recommend.

  • Had a wonderful long weekend in Paul’s roulotte, which was cosy with welcome touches. The rainy weather did not dampen our stay and the roulotte was well equipped with enough room for 4. The location was excellent with the station not far walk and just one stop to Brighton. Thanks Paul, we’ll be back!

  • Not a bad word to say about staying in Paul's Roulotte! We visited for two nights for my birthday and it was just perfect. We stayed in January and it was so lovely and warm, cosy, comfortable and sparkling clean. The shower was fantastic, Paul was a fab host with excellent communication and some lovely touches. Already recommended it to friends and family. Thank you Paul!

Recently renovated stable to accommodate two guest looking for a quiet space over looking a beautiful shared garden and views of the South Downs. Consisting of a cosy lounge and wet room to the ground floor and a double bed and storage on the mezzanine floor. Beautifully decorated with underfloor heating, oak beams and flooring ensure a cosy and relaxing stay. Internet enabled tv and WiFi is available if you need to keep in touch or take in the varied woodland walks that surround if not!
Covid 19. We are not longer using outside cleaners, we are doing it all ourselves using gloves to minimise contact. All surfaces are sprayed with disinfectant between each bookings and all towels and linens washed thoroughly. Escape it all in the country. The Stable is situated just outside of Hurstpierpoint Village at the bottom of Wolstonbury Hill. This is an ideal place for keen walkers or if you just want to surround yourself with wildlife. Wolstonbury Hill has been an important landmark for thousands of years. Iron Age farmers grazed animals on its summit and the Romans left pottery remains on its slopes. In wartime Britain Winston Churchill and members of the war cabinet met at nearby Danny House and would allegedly visit the slopes of Wolstonbury for inspiration.
Set in a secluded part of the south downs you are surrounded by nature and the elements. There are more animals than people! There are two neighbouring cottages and a barn, other than that its fields and woods as far as the eye can see. Wolstonbury Hill is part of the South Downs National Park and you can explore it via some lovely walking trails. It will takes you through beech woodland at the base of the hill and across open grassland to the top of the hill. Upon reaching the summit, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and the downs including Newtimber Hill and Devil's dyke. Hurstpierpoint Village is about 20-30 minutes walk from the Stable. The village offers coffee shops, restaurants, pubs and there is also a local Co-op.
  • Lovely place for a relaxing short break, hot tub was amazing and the hosts were lovely. Would love to head back there once a year for a little get away.

  • I would recommend The Stable to anyone without question! Phil and Beata were so attentive if we needed anything and showed us everything we needed to know. Such a beautiful place to stay and relax. Loved the thoughtful touches like the homemade vodka and the eggs from the chickens, both were delicious! The birthday note and cake left for my boyfriend (it was a present for his birthday) was such a lovely touch. Loved being out in the open and seeing all of the animals, especially Teddy, Betty and Daisy! Would love to come back :)

    Levi2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely peaceful location, Phil and Beata are amazing hosts - the cake and card for my partner was really thoughtful thank you. We will definitely be returning for another stay soon.

    Nick2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The stable was a perfect stay. It was even cozier than it looked in the photos. We had everything we needed to make it a practical stay and the hot tub Beata and Phil kept endlessly hot for us was a little slice of heaven. Great hosts that were friendly and contactable when ever we had any questions. Also had a lovely meal at the Shepard & Dog (a great pub with fire in a quaint nearby village).

    Bradley2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Location was stunning and the property was exactly as we'd hoped. Tiny but very cute and perfect for couples. Complimentary coffee eggs and milk, and also some berry vodka which went down very well! Lots of scenic walks in the area and the hot tub was in a great setting. Thanks to Phil and Beata for a lovely couple of nights!

    George2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, perfect hide-out for escape from the city; Beata and Phil were friendly from start to finish, house is ever so cosy with floor heating, wonderful shower and cosy bed, offers all essential facilities including induction hob. perfect - highly recommended

  • You will not find nicer hosts. We had a really lovely break away and loved being greeted by chickens in the morning. The hot tub in the evening was amazing. Sat under the stars and it was so peaceful. We would recommend a stay here! It’s also a 30 min drive from Brighton! Do go and check out hurstpier village. We had a roast at The New Inn as recommended by the hosts and it was the most incredible food! One of the best roasts we’ve ever had.

    Terri-Anne2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our short break at The Stable was perfect. The room was clean and comfortable, both hosts were welcoming and answered any queries we had. They gave us good recommendations for dinner and drinks in the local town, as well as good walking routes. Having a hot tub is an added bonus too!

**WE WARMLY INVITE YOU FOR A LONG STAY ON THE EDGE OF THE ASHDOWN FOREST. CONTACT US FOR OFFERS** Our beautiful 4-bedroom Chapel is situated on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. Perfect for couples or friends who want a taste of country life with walks in the woods directly from the front gate. Spend nights by a roaring fire or soaking in the hot tub under the stars.
The 19th century Chapel has been stylishly designed by one of the partners, Sally Bourne Interiors of Muswell Hill, London, using luxury Farrow & Ball colours and a mix of modern and original features. With a large entrance hall for coats and shoes, downstairs there are 4 cozy double bedrooms. Each room can be made up as a super king or twin share with two single beds. All the beds have luxury natural mattresses, pure French linen sheets and duck down duvets and pillows (the latter with luxury cotton hypo-allergenic protectors). You'll find 2 separate toilets in the lobby and 2 bathrooms with toilets, baths and in-built showers. A sweeping wooden staircase takes you up to the first floor and the open plan kitchen, dining and living room. The kitchen has a gas hob & oven, fridge, dishwasher and pantry cupboards stocked with the basics. The dining area seats 8 guests. At the far end of the living room, a large wood burning stove is perfect for cosy nights in. The Chapel has wifi access with booster to cover the entire building and TV is digital with Amazon fire stick. The garden features a 6-8 person hot tub, a hot outside shower and a garden table with umbrella that seats 8. You have full and private use of the Chapel and are welcome to spend time in the Chapel garden and hot tub. We live in the adjoining and adjacent properties, so you will occasionally see us around. In respect of the other residents and of our neighbours, the hot tub is available from dawn to 10pm. We love the tranquillity of the forest and that's why we live here, we therefore ask that music is not played outside of the Chapel at any time. The Chapel is in a lane, just off the A22, which makes it very accessible from London and the South Coast. You can hear some traffic noise upstairs or in the garden during rush hours, but evenings are peaceful and the sounds of the hooting owls in the forest take center stage.
Providence Chapel sits right next to the ancient Ashdown Forest, an area of outstanding natural beauty. It's a 15 minute walk into the village of Forest Row. It is 3 miles from the local train station of East Grinstead with bi-hourly connections to London Victoria (approx 1 hour), 20 minutes from Gatwick and 45 minutes from Brighton. The idyllic village is home to local shops, pubs, restaurants, craft fairs and art exhibitions. It’s an alternative beacon with the Michael Hall School (one of the longest established Steiner Schools in the UK) and Emerson College, providing adult education and learning that integrates the spiritual, social and practical dimensions of life and work. There are 2 award-winning biodynamic and organic farms - Tablehurst Farm and Plaw Hatch Farm - which both have cafes and shops where you can buy organic produce. In the heart of the village, the Cyrnel Bakery provides daily freshly baked organic breads and cakes, and The Seasons health food shop offers a range of organic produce. There are many local stately homes to visit, including Standen house. The beautiful Wakehurst Place is worth a visit as well as Hever Castle. For families (and big kids!), just 10 minutes away is Pooh Corner, where you can visit Piglet’s Tea Room and Garden and get your ‘Pooh-phernalia’ in the shop. The Bluebell Railway and Sheffield park are nearby. For the keen golfers, the Royal Ashdown Forest Club is 1 mile from the village. For the sailors, Weir Wood reservoir and sailing club is a mile and a half away. There are regular events such as country shows, antique fairs and car boot sales in the surrounding area.

  • The chapel is the perfect mix of spacious and cosy, luxurious and relaxed, stylish and simple. Lien was really helpful with our booking, sorting extra table settings for our family gathering. We arrived to a lit fire, freshly picked flowers, eggs from the hens and other little extras. We hope to return.

  • We had a wonderful minibreak at the lovely, stylish Providence Chapel. Loved everything about our stay: wonderful host; thoughtful extra touches like the fresh bread, wine, eggs, etc; very comfortable beds with feather pillows, duvets & linen sheets; the splendid twice-daily hot tub relaxation; perfectly located, near the forest and also easy to find; fabulous sitting room space for a sociable family get-together, including the cosy wood burning stove. I would highly recommend this accommodation and hope very much to stay again in the not-too-distant future.

    Catherine2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant weekend at the chapel. Lien has made an amazing job of refurbishing & renovating the property to a high standard & it is beautiful. We were all very comfortable & really appreciated the extra touches such as fresh eggs & home-baked bread. We would definitely visit again & recommend the venue as a lovely place for a small group looking for something a bit different & luxurious. The hot-tub was a huge hit! Many thanks to Lien for her hospitality!

My cosy cabin sits in the grounds of a beautiful 16th century cottage, The Old Post Office. The space is compact, well appointed, all you need for a comfortable stay. There's a pub opposite the cabin that also serves breakfast. It is the perfect place to stay to visit Glyndebourne, explore the lovely town of Lewes or go for walks in the downs. The seven sisters and Birling Gap are definitely worth a visit!
Our Cabin is furnished and fitted to a high standard, with everything you will need for a comfortable stay, including fresh linen and towels. The cabin has an en suite shower room, with a large walk-in cubical. There is a small kitchenette, with cooking facilities and fridge, ideal to prepare your breakfast. There is a wall mounted tv with dvd player and the cabin warms up nicely with its own electric heaters. Enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine on the patio area at the front in the warmer months.
The Old Post Office/Cabin is brilliantly situated for those who want a peaceful 'get away'. The county town of Lewes is with easy reach, with its many attractions and the quaint village of Barcombe is close, with an alternative pub 'The Anchor', where you can hire rowing boats on the river. The internationally famous 'Glyndbourne' Opera House is a short drive and there is a limited train service from Cooksbridge to Brighton, Eastbourne and London Victoria. The location is ideal for walkers and cyclists as the South Downs are very close. The Rainbow Inn pub opposite our house also serves breakfast.
  • Beautiful little place, very comfortable bed and great pub directly opposite

  • We came here for a mini Christmas break before the big day and couldn’t have been happier with our stay! Instructions on how to get there were clear (it’s very rural!), and place itself was spacious, spotless and bright! Hailey was a lovely host who was happy to let us settle in once we knew the basics, but was on the end of the phone should we have needed her and checked in on us by text throughout our stay - she also provided us with a great tip for going to the Wakehurst Glow Wild event which we loved! The kitchen was very well equipped, which was important to us as we wanted to cook a mini Christmas dinner and we were able to with ease - plus the fresh eggs from the farm she gifted us were incredible and really the cherry on top of this amazing stay!

  • This quiet, comfortable space set amongst beautiful gardens is the perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommended.

  • Martyn was a great host to us. His B&B and entire property was very well kept and everything works. We love his dog, peacocks, canaries & diamond dove (not to mention, all the other wild birds that came to his farm), rams, sheep, geese, chickens and the wonderful garden of fruits and vegetables. My daughter was especially impressed by his compost area as she is into recycling and sustainability. Ask for a guided tour so that you can understand more about his farm. In addition, his breakfast hamper with home-made bread and butter, jams and honey were delicious! And the fresh eggs from your chickens......best to eat it soft boiled.

  • I've been living in this perfect apartment for six weeks, and I can't find the words to express how well I've felt. The apartment has absolutely everything that you need (and more), the heating is fantastic, everything is new and it's spotlessly clean. There's no single thing I can complain about. Caroline and her husband are fantastic, they've made me feel really at home. I'm looking forward to being here again.

  • My stay at Joanna’s was lovely! I had just started a new job in the area and needed somewhere to stay while waiting for my own place to be ready, and Joanna’s home was perfect. Good location, lovely house, and great hospitality. I had access to everything I needed, and the freedom to go in and out as I pleased. Joanna was very friendly and I really enjoyed chatting to her and other guests of an evening over dinner or just about the house. I felt very welcome and very much at home. Travelling alone I was a little nervous but I felt safe and comfortable in Joanna’s house. The room was cosy, had what I needed for the few nights I was there, and it was the perfect space to relax in before sleeping. I’d happily stay with Joanna again and would definitely recommend her home. :)

The location is ideal for local pubs and walks but also for exploring further afield to London or Brighton. It was spotlessly clean and so easy to keep warm with central heating and a fire. We will certainly visit again! Ed was an excellent host with quick and clear communications, and gave us space to just enjoy our time away. Thanks Ed!

  • What a little gem, in the beautiful Sussex countryside. A very comfortable cottage with its own garden & an added bonus of a log fire for the cold evenings. Will mention stairs to the 1 bedroom are on the steep side for those with mobility probs. Otherwise a cosy, very clean, well equipped & especially comfortable cottage. Ed is there if you need any help. But we liked it as were left to let ourselves in to discover & were able to relax. Thank you! We'd love to visit again!!

    Max2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Lakeside Retreat was even better than expected. It really is completely remote and tranquil. The outside space is stunning and you can walk the land for hours taking in the wildlife. We even sat outside for a while both evenings making use of the Chimenea. My 10 year old son had the best time. Before arriving we were a little bit concerned we would be a bit cold in the lodge but we took layers and with the two electric radiators we were actually really toasty. We also took a trip to the local pub, the Cock Inn which had a very welcoming atmosphere and great pub grub! I cannot recommend this place highly enough and we hope to return again....perhaps in the summer!

    Sarah2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in James's cabin. The location was beautiful and it was remote enough to feel as though you're out in the country, but close enough to shops to stay connected. James was prompt and clear with communication. Having stayed in the winter, I can imagine that in the summer it'd be amazing to have the doors open and have dinner on the decking.

    Izzy2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • James Lodge was very tranquil and a real retreat to get away for pure relaxation. There is no WiFi and just a small TV so If peace is what you are looking for this is the place to be. There is no central heating so do wrap up . We did however have two heaters which were adequate but if you feel the cold like me a fleece and big socks will do fine. The surrounding walks etc were beautiful and we made some lovely friends ( being two gorgeous horses!) Overall a lovely stay and was sad to checkout. Will be back to experience it in the Summer. Oh just to add the beds were one of the comfiest I have stayed in!! Great nights sleep! Thanks guys!!

A recently refurbished 2 bed holiday cottage set within 57 acres of a private land adjoining the river Ouse and including ancient woodland . Guests are welcome to take walks across the land and enjoy the views and wildlife as well as the horses grazing in the fields on this equestrian holding.
The cottage is ideally situated for a peaceful stay in the countryside and to visit the numerous local attractions including the Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park House and Garden, Plumpton Racecourse, The South of England Showground, the High Weald AONB and the Sussex coastline including Brighton only 16 miles away. Please note that the main bedroom is directly off of the staircase. The 2nd bedroom is located off of the main bedroom. This property is therefore best suited to a couple or a couple with young family. Please take a look at 2 Badgers Rest if you are looking for something slightly bigger.
  • The cottage was very clean, beds very comfortable and Tina was very friendly on arrival. Good location, thank you!

  • This idyllic bolt hole in the country side is amazing we only stayed one night but a beautiful location with brilliant hosts made the visit great you would all love it

  • My boyfriend and I wanted a calm, weekend away from London with country walks and fresh air - and that's exactly what we got. Tina's place was lovely, newly refurbished and modern (and very clean), only 20mins walk to super cozy pubs (recommend the Bull), and great nature around such as a walk along the river Ouse. Tina was really friendly and super accommodating (she even lent me a pair of wellies), and shared freshly laid eggs from her chickens with us. Highly recommend for a weekend away, but if you're coming from London like we did, hiring a car will be a little bit easier to get to experience all the different places around.

  • Fantastic Stay

    Richard2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable and comfortable weekend break in Tina’s cottage! The beds were extremely comfy and the cottage was clean, warm and modern. The location was quiet but close to amenities in local villages and towns along with endless walks in the surrounding area

    Bryony2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a lovely long weekend in Tina’s cottage. The photos don’t do it justice; the space is much bigger than expected and we especially loved the huge comfy bed! There is everything you could possibly need for a break away from everything. Tina was really welcoming and very quick to respond to any questions. Thank you for making the beginning of our half-term break in the middle of a storm so relaxing!

    Emily2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Badgers Rest. It is beautifully quiet with a lovely feel to it. Tina is a wonderful host and genuinely caring. It is about a 15 minute drive into Hayward’s Heath where there is everything you’ll need. You certainly need a car, however that’s what makes it such a peaceful stay being away from everything. I recommend it.

  • Good location. Great shower and comfortable bed. Everything spotless. Very nicely decorated. Great hosts.

    Rowan2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolute gem of a place - I can’t rate it highly enough. It’s all down to the hosts going that extra mile to make things comfortable and easy with a lovely atmosphere thrown in. Deserves more than five stars.

    Cheryl2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Oliver were amazing hosts. They are a very kind and thoughtful couple. We had a great time sharing our stories about all the travels. They offered to give me a lift from work one evening when the weather was bad. There is also some light breakfast every morning which is very thoughtful. This is probably one of the best Airbnb’s I have ever stayed at. I would definitely recommend staying at their place.

    Asma2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Anna and Oliver's flat. It is modern, very clean and very well equipped. We loved the little touches, such as chocolates to greet us. It was easy to check in. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately we were busy, so we didn't meet Anna and Oliver until we were about to leave. We would highly recommend staying here and we hope to come back next time we are in the area.

Double Bed in a private room with exclusive use of shower room and shared use of kitchen (with me) if required. (Happy to clear a shelf in the fridge for you to use.) Close to CAE/Roche/Amex. Family house but flock has grown up and moved on, so the nest is now a bit empty ! I have a rescue dog called Bingo who is around 10 years old & friendly, so must be OK with dogs.
In your room is a 3 drawer bedside cabinet with a lamp on and a small wardrobe with hanging rails. Happy for you to use the kitchen facilities, fridge/freezer with ice machine and plumbed in water, oven, microwave, kettle and toaster but bare in mind that rooms other than your bedroom and bathroom are shared with me. Your bathroom has a toilet, power shower and a basin, along with a mirror and during your stay, will be exclusively for you. You are welcome to use the garden as well, which is laid with AstroTurf and decking and you would probably be accompanied by my dog Bingo, who loves a bit of sunbathing ! There is wifi and an iron and board if you require them, also happy for you to use the washing machine for a small donation towards the cost of running and detergent. The upstairs area is not for guests, as that is the family bedrooms and my sanctuary ! I am usually in the living room of an evening, which the garden is accessible through. I am friendly and happy for you to join me in there if you are partial to a soap or drama, but equally happy for you to have the privacy of your own room.
There are 3 pubs and 3 shops within 10 minutes walk, and a chip shop less than 5 minutes walk. The industrial estates are around a 10 minute walk, and the town centre around 15-20 minute walk. There are many takeaways in and around the town and the local chippy is less than 5 minutes walk from my house. CAE/Roche/Amex are no more than around 20 minute walk away, so perfect if you are working at one of these businesses.

The studio has a separate entrance away from the main house and is a self contained apartment with a double bed, kitchenette and lounge area.
A relaxed and friendly enviroment with lots of surrounding space and gardens.Although wi fi is offered this service can be intermittent due to our rural location. Please note when using sat nav that when it says "Destination on right" we are actually on the left! same for "Desti nation on the left" we are on the right!
We are semi rural but within reach of many great pubs and attractions.
  • Spacious and peaceful. All the mod cons and a great location to gain access to all of Sussex.

    Kerry2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The property is comfortable, cosy and stylish. It is very quiet and quite often the only noise you can hear is the rustling of the trees. Being from the city this is a novelty and exactly the kind of place I was looking for to relax while working away from home. It is well equipped and gives all the comforts of home in a well thought out space. Hugh was quick to respond and answered any questions I had, however, the information pack included has everything you will need for local food and pubs, medical emergency, local tourist sites etc. You could literally turn up here with no plan and be certain to find lots of exciting things to do. On arrival, I was able to check-in using the lockbox and Hugh had kindly left fresh milk, croissants and fruit. Overall I can't fault the place, it's a simple, affordable and practical for those who need a place to relax while travelling. Thank you.

  • Brilliant location. Short drive to shops such as tesco express and a large waitrose but also secluded enough to get away from city life. An extremely cute and cosy property. We planned to go out for dinner but stayed in on both nights as we liked the place so much.

    Tanya2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Clear quick communication. Lovely place and peaceful location. Big space. Has a very comfortable bed. Hugh prepared nice fruit, fresh milk and few croissants for breakfast.. Bath take a little time to fill up but it didn’t bother us too much. Definitely recommended!

    Erin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hugh is a wonderful host. Myself and my boyfriend only stayed a night but felt really comfortable and at home and the whole time. The annexe was not only beautiful and spacious, but also really cosy - the heater kept us warm in the evening, and the bed was SO comfortable - neither of us wanted to get up! Breakfast and fresh milk was also waiting for us, which was a welcome thoughtful touch. We wandered over to The Bull pub in Newick, which was lovely - open fire and friendly staff. Hugh’s information and guidance helped us have a good time and kept us safe (particularly considering we didn’t have a car!). Thank you so much! Absolutely can’t go wrong with this place. Will definitely recommend to friends visiting the area.

Tranquil 2 bed cottage in a peaceful, rural location with private garden & sun terrace and outside seating. In the courtyard of my home, it has a spacious open plan living space, high beamed ceilings, a log burner & sunny conservatory. Year-round access to a heated indoor pool. Smart TV & free WiFi. Close to a range of sights and activities including the Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park Gardens, Bluebell Vineyard, Ashdown Forest, Glyndebourne, the South Downs, Wakehurst Place, the beach...!
Beautiful, self contained 2 bed (1 king and 1 twin) cottage with a private, secluded, sunny garden, a BBQ and garden furniture. Year round access to our indoor, heated swimming pool. Surrounded by beautiful, rolling Sussex countryside, the cottage is in a peaceful, rural location and our cats, dog and free range chickens wander around the gardens, yard and fields. The cottage is perfect for families/couples/friends wanting to escape busy lives and relax in peaceful, rural surroundings. Although private and secluded, The Old Dairy is in the courtyard of my home where I have a young family so this is not somewhere for people who are looking to party/play loud music etc. Cosy in the winter with the beams and log burner and perfect in the summer with the sun-filled conservatory, private terrace and garden, and indoor swimming pool with glass doors down one side - the pool is our family pool so has pool toys/floats etc; it is lovely and light-filled but is not a smart spa-type pool! I provide crisp white linen, bath towels, a swimming towel per person, soap, hand wash, washing up liquid and j-cloths, bin liners and a couple of dishwasher tablets. I will also leave fresh eggs from our happy, organic, free-range chickens (subject to laying!!), milk, fresh and instant coffee, butter, tea bags (regular and herbal) and sugar. I leave a bottle of sparkling wine for longer bookings. Salt, pepper and oils are also stocked in the kitchen. Child and pet friendly, I can provide up to two travel cots (with mattresses) and high chairs and the cottage is equipped with all children's cutlery, plates, cups etc. During colder months I will provide wood, kindling and paper for the fire for your first night and we have a store where you can buy more from us at cost price thereafter.
We are on the edge of Ashdown Forest which spans over 6,000 acres and is a walker’s paradise. Sheffield Park Gardens is just down the road with its breathtaking scenery. For a great family day out, the Bluebell Railway is just around the corner. Wakehurst Place is about a 15min drive away, they often run innovative and fun activities for children but is equally well worth a visit for the Gardens alone. Lewes is a beautiful town about 20mins away. Lovely restaurants, cafes and a number of incredible antiques emporiums to rummage through. The South Downs are about 30mins away and are just stunning...endless rolling hills stretch out to explore. The lovely sussex coast is just beyond the downs. There are many brilliant pubs within about 10mins of the cottage. World famous Glyndeborne is about 25 minutes from us.
  • Lovely weekend in a quiet spot. Nice touches of bread, milk, and butter. Great space to relax and catch up with friends.

Remote 17th century cottage, sited on an ancient Sussex iron working site, surrounded by woodlands, fields and small river. Accommodation is a semi-detached, self-contained annex to main cottage with own entrance. It has a bedroom with 4'6"double bed open plan with curtain divide to the sitting room which has an optional fold up single bed, wood burning stove, compact kitchen, tiny shower room, WC, without bath. Conservatory overlooks wild garden and woodlands. Also dog friendly and sitting.
The property is beautifully rustic and charming, it has been used on a number of occasions as a location for film and photo shoots and is a truly unique and characterful location. The annexe is a quiet inspirational space (no television), great for relaxing, unwinding, yoga or just being laid back. The garden and woods are full of birds and wildlife and there are many footpaths through the surrounding fields and woods. You will have a small private patio where you can enjoy a cup of tea immersed in the sounds of the surrounding wildlife. We have two friendly dogs, so well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.
The nearest village is Cuckfield, with a variety of shops and three cafes. Ockingdon Manor Hotel is great for a posh tea or dinner. There is a good Indian restaurant and three pubs that serve food. Ten minutes away is Jeremy’s superb restaurant and the wonderful Café Elvera. Both are situated in Borde Hills’ beautiful Gardens which also hosts theatre performances and exhibitions. Within striking distance are Nyman’s, Leonards Lee and Wakehurst wonderful gardens, Charlston House.
  • A relaxing stay in the heart of the woods. Dee and Bill are lovely, welcoming hosts. The interior of the house is very olde worldly with a beautiful open fire, wood-panelled features and a cosy conservatory area which is perfect for a lazy breakfast or reading a book. There is an abundance of local walks, directly from the house.

  • Great!

    Jonathan2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Dee and Bill were both so friendly, fantastic hosts and a gorgeous little place in such a lovely area, there were even little hand drawn maps to help us find walks!

    Lily2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our weekend retreat at Dee and Bill's place. If there is anything wrong with the listing it's only that it is even cosier than it looks! We were looking for somewhere to get away from the hustle and bustle of life for a few days, to switch off and recharge, and found exactly that and more. We loved spending our evenings by the fantastic fire and waking up to nothing but birdsong. We spent quite some time identifying various birds from their calls - day and night - from the conservatory. So incredibly peaceful and idyllic. You really are tucked away in the woods. We enjoyed some lovely muddy walks and it only took 20 minutes or so to walk into the village for supplies and local refreshment! But when at the house you really do feel much further away than that. Dee and Bill were really welcoming hosts and made the place lovely and warm and cosy for our late arrival. (Thank you!). We will definitely return in the summer (and spring, and autumn, and perhaps winter again if we can!...). It was just perfect.

    Lisa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality Dee & Bill are wonderful hosts the cottage is perfect fresh flowers left for us Plus everything is there for cooking plus wardrobe with hangers comfortable seats great bed and the outlook is amazing especially from the conservatory beautiful gardens and so peaceful great place to recharge your batteries. The bedroom is a large newly refurbished double bedroom with a bay window in a large detached family home. It is a bright and airy modern room. The floor is insulated wooden flooring and has a new radiator, so is very cosy. Bedding and towels plus kettle and drinks will be provided. The room has wardrobe and draw space plus a built in desk area with plug points - useful for a student or a business visitor. The house is also very close to the station with regular trains to London and Brighton.
It is a family home and there are two children living here. They are really well behaved children nonetheless if guests don't like children in their accommodation then this won't be the place for you :). This is also a musical house and there is a piano etc. Music practice will happen usually in early evening but not at unsocial hours and is rather pleasant. I should draw this to guests attention as not everyone will like this.
It is a quiet residential area so if someone is looking for a peaceful stay then this is the place. We are on the very edge of town and by a nature reserve close to lots of lovely walks and places to visit in the Southdown national park and the beautiful Sussex Countryside. We are also close to the Coast for those that want a bit of beach life.
  • Jennie is a lovely host. Friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. I hope to be staying again soon.

  • Jennie’s house was perfect for my stay whilst I was doing a course locally. The house and the room is spacious, stylish and tidy and excellent value. Jennie is an excellent host and made me feel very welcome in her family home.

  • Jennie was a fantastic host. I don't think that anyone else could improve the role she demonstrated. She welcomed us to do a tour of her home for us and was so warm and friendly that after an hour or so, we felt like we'd known her for years. Her home was lovely and comfortable and she gave us plenty of tips during our stay there. The value was superb too. A perfect weekend. Thank you Jennie!

Our unique Ecopod was handcrafted in Wales, it is beautifully insulated with sheep wool and has a lovely smell of wood. The large double glazing doors allow you to make the most of sunlight, you are in the sunniest spot of the garden! The village has everything you need, four independent coffee shops, one bakery and two supermarkets. Further down you have the beautiful Hurstpierpoint, Ditchiling and Lewes, if you fancy more action, Brighton is 10 minutes away. FULLY HEATED for colder days.
We are close to the Downs National Park, as well as having Brighton 20 minutes away. So if you want to walk and visit the village, then it's easy. But it's equally easy to pop into Brighton for sea air or shopping. We are located close to the A23. The nearest station is Hassocks, which is 10 minutes walk from us. This is the Brighton line to London Bridge/ Victoria. Gatwick airport is 30 minutes by car. There's also cycle hire at the station in Hassocks, which is a 10 minute walk from our house. Hurstpierpoint is a nearby village with lots of shops and some great pubs, 5 minutes by car or 40 minutes walking. You also have Lewes, Plumpton, Ditchling to visit. Cyclists and hikers are also welcome. There are two "cycling cafes" nearby Proper Cycling here in Hassocks and Velusso in Ditchling. Pubs include The Bull, The Thatched Inn, Jack and Jill Inn, The Hassocks and more. We have a curry and chinese restaurant on the High Street as well as Fish and chips and Kebab Take away. Finally a local lady called Carly delivers amazing afternoon teas, she organizes everything and even takes the dirty plates away so you don't have to worry about the washing up check Carly's Afternoon Teas on Facebook. THE POD SELF CHECK IN AVAILABLE AND OWN ACCESS INDEPENDENT FROM MAIN HOUSE. The PODis tucked away on a corner of our family garden. It is NOT secluded and I think is not ideal for romantic weekends. If not sure please message me BEFORE booking. You will have your own independent access to the Pod. The sofa opens into a cosy double bed. Blankets and duvet provided. Own indoor kitchen area: microwave, small fridge, kettle, tea/ coffee facilities and crockery. There is no cooker so you cannot make your meals from scratch. You can buy lovely meals from COOK at our local Budgens or eat out at one of the local pubs restaurants (BOOKING HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) You have WI FI and TV (with Amazon Fire stick), internet can be slow at times but it is normally good. You can also have a hammock on the veranda of the Pod, we have one should you wish to relax in the Sun. There will also be a selection of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits for you. IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE DATES YOU WANT PLEASE MESSAGE ME AS I MAY HAVE A LAST MINUTE CANCELLATION OR THE DATES ARE BLOCKED AND NOT YET AVAILABLE.
The Thatched Inn is a couple of minutes walk and has good food and brilliant service ( please book to guarantee a table as they get busy) Southdowns nursery: lovely garden centre where you can have coffee, cake or nice meal at their restaurant. You can also buy beer, gifts and locally sourced produce. Bake out: small bakery and coffee house; 5 minutes walking. Butcher: is very friendly and has an amazing selection of meat for your BBQ. Train station: 8/10 minutes walk Walking trails: several around us, you can easily walk to Ditchiling, and other villages Mac's Farm: In Ditchiling, excellent for fresh eggs Wineries: Albourne, Ridgeview etc
  • This is ideal for a weekend trip out of town (in my case Brighton). We just needed a bit of distance in difficult times and found this little jewel here in Hassocks. Erica has a great eye for detail and I loved the mini marshmallows and the hot choc. There was home made granola and I loved the smell of wood when I came in. Very, very clean and very relaxing. Thank you

    Nadine2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described. Cute little eco-shed in the back garden of Erica’s family home. You can slip in & out without any trouble & the small space is fine for a couple. Right by the South Downs for a couple of nice walks.

  • We really enjoyed the pod. It was cosy, clean, had everything we needed in it, check-in/out was uncomplicated, and it is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

    Chris2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved stying here! Very cosy, and there are lots of little touches like noce soap and shampoo, kit kats and creamy milk that made it even better. Highly recommended!

  • Can’t recommend this place enough. Amazing host, beautiful accommodation and surroundings. Gorgeous walks and all the wildlife you could want!! We will be back!!

    Emma2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this stay is brilliant, and Beatrix is a very kind and generous host. The stable has been converted in such an interesting way and there are lots of special and quirky touches architecturally! The photos really don't do the place justice. It was very clean and comfortable, and there is everything you would need and hope for in a place that has a kitchen so it's easy to cook. We really appreciated being provided with nice teabags, coffee, fresh bread, milk, cereal and even some pantry supplies such as pasta, sauce, baked beans, salt and pepper etc. The bathroom is great and the shower is hot and powerful. Lots of towels and and some nice toiletries supplied. Comfy beds! You are surrounded by fields and we enjoyed seeing the donkeys, chickens, sheep and cat. Lots of good and easy walks around. It's a fantastic place to stay!

    Leila2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the best places we have ever stayed in and it was a shame it was only for two nights. It was beautifully presented and the attention to detail was 2nd to none. Accommodation itself was absolutely stunning and very quirky but presented to an extremely high standard. The attention to detail is 2nd to none with lovely added extras such as bathrobes, Toiletries, Flowers on the table and we even managed to get Netflix!! The location was perfect looking out at donkeys in the field and just a five minute walk to the beautiful village nearby where there were several restaurants and pubs. When we arrived Beatrix came out to meet us straight away with a lovely warm welcome which kicked off the weekend just perfectly. We would definitely revisit if we were in this part of the world again and stay for longer.

    Kate2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb completely blew us away for quality and style. The accommodation was absolutely beautiful and Beatrix Provided all the extra little special touches that made our stay just perfect. It was also exceptionally clean. Love the style and quirkiness of this property. Great weekend!

    Kate2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing property and host. We spent two really relaxing and comfortable nights here while visiting friends. The Stables is warm, stylish and contemporary with lovely additional touches such as high end toiletries, a welcome pack of essentials, numerous warm fluffy towels, a fabulous shower and cosy bedding. The location, if a little tricky to find at first, is perfect for the area and for an easy stroll to the Cuckfield itself and its lovely pubs. It is spotlessly clean and wonderfully quiet with good wifi and loads of outside space and seating. Beatrix is the perfect host, met us on arrival, went through all we needed to know and provided really clear contact details for us. The whole weekend was so perfect, we didnt need to take her up on anythinhg else and were really sorty to leave. Taxis were able to find us and drop us off as necessary and there is parking right next to the building. It really was great and I am so pleased with our find. Thank you Beatrix!

    Sioned2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, quiet stay. Beatrix was very warm and accommodating. Her home is wonderfully restored and tastefully decorated. I was surprised at all the treats she provided. Love her donkeys.

The stable flat is a recently converted one bedroom apartment decorated in a light modern style yet retaining some of the natural brick features of its origins. It is part of a stable yard that is no longer in use (guests with horses are welcome to use the stables by arrangement ). It sits in a property of about 3 acres and guests are welcome to enjoy the picturesque garden and small patch of woodlands that form part of the property. Easy access to Brighton, Hickstead, Gatwick and Nymans gardens
The Stable Flat has it's own entrance off Colwood Lane. It has spacious car parking for two cars and a patio garden. It also has the vacant stabling block and riding school so that the overall impression is of spaciousness. The property is all electric and hence does not need a carbon monoxide detector. The aspect is rural with quiet country lanes, many trees and much bird and other animal life. However it is close to major transport links and it's convenience for most of mid-Sussex.
We are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and on the High Weald landscape trail. There are many local footpaths and opportunities for pleasant walks. Attractive local drinking and dining opportunities are offered by the Bolney Stage which is less than a mile from the property or the Half Moon or Eight Bells which are within 2 miles. Similarly close is the Bolney Estate Vineyard which offers tours and wine tastings in addition to its restaurant and bar. It is close to Nymans, Borde Hill, High Beeches, Leonardslee, Sheffield Park and Wakehurst gardens. It is only 4 miles to Hickstead show ground.
  • Fantastic little cottage in a beautiful location close to Brighton. The accommodation is like a home from home, spotlessly clean and the nice touches such as chocolates were much appreciated. Philip and Zillah were great hosts and we can't wait to return to explore the local area when the weather is better! Thank you from Paul & Caroline from Yorkshire!

Thank you for the treats & blanket for Thor. The Stable Flat is very well equipped with everything you need. Philip & Zillah respond quickly. We loved the book of information provided very informative and detailed. I would 100% recommend to stay at their property.

  • Staying at Philip and Zilla’s is always easy, restful and a calm haven. The flat is lovely and the surroundings peaceful and beautiful. They are easy to communicate with, flexible and thoughtful. I would definitely recommend it especially if you have pets. My dogs love to sit by the window and watch for squirrels and other wildlife. There are lovely walks close by too.

  • If you have high standards then this is the place for you! Well equipped with luxurious towels and bedding. There was washing up liquid, washing powder and dishwasher tablets with plenty of tea towels and dish cloths (no need to bring your own). Situated in a very quiet spot but close to Horsham and Crawley for the shops. We only did one walk on the roads but it was very pleasant and saw some lovely houses. Would highly recommend this place.

Great views of Devils Dyke area. Amazing South Downs walks as we are situated inside the National Park and only 5 miles from Brighton. The village pub across the road has a beer garden and restaurant. A 15 minute walk to award winning local garden centre, deli and cafe (Rushfields). On the Bus route into Brighton, a car is recommended but not essential. The resident cat would appreciate feeding during your stay.
The home is really warm and cosy and recently completely renovated. A large kitchen diner opens out onto marvellous views, ideal for day dreaming or inspiring you to get out and enjoy the countryside. There are 2 bedrooms and a shared bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a very comfortable pull out bed, which can be made up as a single or kingsize.
A rural retreat where you can feel as though you are at the top of the world (well almost), within a 15 minute walk up various routes to the top of Devils Dyke, part of the South Downs Way.
  • Claudia and Andrew are so easy to work with. Their home is lovely, nestled right in the village with a wonderful backyard garden.

    Kelley2019-09-07T00:00:00Z

The place was spotless with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a warm and welcoming feeling. It’s also in a very lovely village, right in the heart of the South Downs National Park - great for walking holidays. Highly recommended, and we will certainly be back.

  • A beautiful house in a really lovely spot. Perfect for our little family - our toddler loved the garden (and the beautiful cat), not to mention the great play area in the (excellent) pub immediately opposite. Claudia and Andrew were great hosts. Highly recommended.

A former gamekeeper's cottage on the Sheffield Park Estate (now National Trust Gardens). A charming bolthole boasting a Clearview wood burner stove to keep you cosy in the winter, 18th Century print wallpaper, newly fitted kitchen and bathroom, TV and Wifi. Please look at our new venture on Airbnb Wagon in the Woods as well.
We converted the lodge over a number of years - carefully choosing the wallpaper (which is from America, using a print of the 18th century). It really lends itself to a cold winters - please bring your own wood & kindling etc for the fire
We are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - just over an hour from London (Haywards Heath train station) - and 1/2 hour to Brighton. There are two fantastic pubs in the village of Fletching - which is a 35 minute walk. The Griffin Inn and The Rose and Crown. The South Downs National park is a 15 minute drive - and the historical town of Lewes is 25 minutes. Sheffield Park Gardens neighbours our land and The Bluebell Railway is also in easy walking distance. Forest Row offers a cycle hire facility www.forestrowhire.org - where there are cycle paths.
  • What a wonderful place to spend a relaxing weekend in! It is so beautifully decorated, cosy and comfortable, and the wood stove is such a great bonus! We loved our stay there and would definitely go again!

  • What a lovely, cosy little cottage! It is in a beautiful location. Sally was very helpful and on hand if we needed her, she gave us advice on where to eat in the area. Sheffield park is just round the corner, we hadn't been before, it was amazing. We ate at a couple of local pubs, the food and service was very good. We hope to go back soon.

  • Lovely little lodge. Fireplace was very cosy and easy to use. Nice location. WiFi was brill. Kitchen was good, nice little dining area. Lovely, friendly dog on site, the family seem lovely too. All in all, would recommend this place to those looking for a quiet escape.

  • Great location to explore all that’s on offer in the area! Such a warm and cosy place to stay that this was our third trip here and I’m sure we’ll be back!

    Hannah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a weekend escape to the cottage. It is situated next to their family home (about 10m apart) and surrounded by woodland. Sally was accommodating of our late check in and very swift to respond to messages. The cottage is cosy, and having a bath and fire is an extra special treat. As previously noted, the toilet can be a squeeze if you are broad of shoulders. It is in a great location to explore East Sussex (if you have a car). We went to Sheffield Park and Garden which was a lovely place to walk about. The Griffin Inn was a cosy pub close by - on the more expensive side but the food was amazing and great views from their beer garden. Lewes is a 25 min drive away and we spent time exploring the castle and Barbican House Museum.
