The End Place is a self-contained cottage adjoining Moorhouse Cottage B&B. Downstairs is open plan, comprising a fully equipped kitchen and a living area with wood burning stove. A glass wall ensures uninterrupted views across Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as starry-night skyscapes. Upstairs opens out into a magical, fairy-lit, vaulted bedroom with a king size brass bed adorned with crisp White Company linen and includes en suite with shower.
The End Place is part of a collection of buildings that were added to an 18th century worker's cottage over the course of a little more than a hundred years and now comprise Moorhouse Cottage. The recent conversion for use as accommodation has retained or re-used original features wherever possible, while ensuring modern standards of comfort. Surrounded by rugged moor and hill-farm land, it's an ideal place to get away from it all, while still having excellent access to local attractions such as Fountains Abbey, The Yorkshire Dales National Park and Brimham Rocks, which marks the far horizon when looking out from the front of the house.
Just down the hill is Pateley Bridge (Great British High Street Awards, village winner - 2016), where you can stock up on award winning homemade pies, bread and cake, or wet your whistle in one of the local pubs. Or, if you prefer, a short walk directly from our door along the Bewerley Industrial Heritage Trail brings you to Coldstones Cut, where you can explore Yorkshire’s highest public sculpture, created by Andrew Sabin, overlooking a working Quarry and with spectacular views over Nidderdale and the landscape beyond. Finish your walk by tasting the delights on offer at Toft Gate Barn Cafe, with delicious homemade dishes and a warm Yorkshire welcome from Caroline and Chris. Or simply relax and enjoy the antics of the alpacas and other animals on this unique and quirky small holding. Within 30 minutes you could be enjoying the delights of the spar town of Harrogate, the cathedral town of Ripon, or Ilkley with its own literary and film festivals. Fountain’s Abbey (a World Heritage Site), Brimham Rocks and Stump Cross Caverns are also a must. Or simply get on your bike (this is the land of the Tour de Yorkshire) or put on your walking boots and explore the outstanding beauty of the Dales.
  • Wonderful location, quiet, peaceful, a perfect stay.

  • Amazing place to stay. The cozy rural setting with the wood burning fire was ideal. Plenty of walks and the shops were only 10 minutes away. Would definitely go again.

  • Me and my partner had the best long weekend here, from feeding the sheep and alpaca’s to walking around the beautiful reservoirs near by. The end place is a beautiful clean and thoughtfully modernised get away with everything you could need for a comfortable and really memorable stay. Really hope to return again soon!

  • What a beautiful and relaxing place to be! Loved every minute.

    Ashley2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful few nights staying at The End Place. We felt really lucky to see it in the snow - it felt magical! The animals are a delight, we loved putting the ducks to bed and opening the door to their little house each morning, plus we loved feeding Al & Paco (the two alpacas!) carrots. The position of The End Place is absolutely beautiful and it really is the perfect cottage to retreat to after a day's walking in the dales. The welcome hamper was so thoughtful and Jules even made us a cup of tea when we arrived with fruit cake and Wensleydale (a Yorkshire classic!). We will definitely be back again soon :)

  • My second visit to The End Place. Such a great place to step off from the busyness of the world, hunker down, watch the natural world from your window, read books and rest. Highly recommended. You can also feed alapaca 😀

    Claire2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a quiet escape in an amazing hidden corner of the Dales, get yourself down to The End Place. You'll be greeted every morning by ducks and chickens and there's even a good chance to feed Alpacas and sheep. What's not to like? If you want to explore or just spend a whole weekend cooped up inside, you won't regret it. The hosts are amazing and very friendly and will make you feel at home from the moment you arrive to the second you leave.

    Alejandro2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Well what can I say, what an unbelievable experience me and my partner had staying here! It's such a little gem! We stayed for a week for our 2 year anniversary and it was perfect. The end place was absolutely spotless with great thoughtful touches, the welcome basket with bread, eggs, fruit cake, tea, coffee and jam to even having dressing gowns and wellies for you to wear. The different areas to explore around the area are great such as coldstones cut, brimham rocks, malham cove and many more! The hosts gave us so much information about different walks in the area, cafes/restaurants and places to visit! We couldn't of wished for more, absolutely perfect hosts! The end place is gorgeous, I would recommend this place to anyone! Thank you again Trevor and Jules! Hopefully we'll be back soon!

  • Absolutely fantastic place. The location was stunning, as was the accommodation. I would highly recommend

    Jon2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a place to relax, feel cosey but in a luxurious well maintained property look no further, you will no doubt love the indoor heated pool that’s all yours! With a stylish mini pad above that my teenage son found amazing, the log fire in the cottage kept us all warm and happy with large glass of wine in hand just chilling out, it was a great holiday and sad it wasn’t longer, but we will definitely book again!

    Jill2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at this beautiful and quaint cottage (with the added benefit of the pool house and hot tub). Couldn't fault the place at all, it exceeded our expectations. My five-year-old niece loved the pool, and we had a job of getting her to get out when it was time for bed! The house has fantastic amenities, and the added special treats from the host were well received and appreciated (wine for the adults and treats for the children). The cottage does feel like it is in the middle of nowhere, but this was ideal for our family weekend away. The two neighbouring cottages were friendly too. The cottage is ideally placed for going on long or short walks in the surrounding countryside. Plenty of farm animals to be seen! We took our own provisions, as the nearest shop is roughly a 20-minute drive away, but the cottage does have some existing provisions (tea, coffee, sugar etc). The towels and robes were greatly appreciated too. The house is well decorated, with some quirky accents (teapots) and really add to the farmhouse/cottage vibes. There are plenty of board games and quizzes to keep you busy on wet days, as well as the games room at the back of the property. The toy/ play area is also brilliant for children, again my five-year old-niece loved it. We would definitely stay again given the chance. Well worth the money!

  • We stayed at David's place for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday with family. The place is fantastic, facilities are on point, would highly recommend. David is ane excellent host, rapid replies, gives you all the information you need way in advance. Highly recommended!

  • Great house with loads to do and the pub down the road served brilliant food

    Thomas2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful family break at David’s cottage. Despite the horrendous weather, we had a fantastic time as there was so much to do. There are lots of beautiful walks accessible from outside of the front door and great amenities to enjoy at the cottage when we got back or if we just wanted to relax. We have a 10 year old who really enjoyed the pool and we all made very good use of the hot tub. There were lots of games, books and DVDs provided (which we didn’t actually need as the tv didn’t go on once). You really couldn’t ask for more to do here. Any issues we had (mainly due to the weather) were sorted out extremely quickly and David replied to messages within minutes. The only problem was that we wish we had longer! We will definitely be back!

PLEASE NOTE: the house is only available for essential use until 31 May. The Garden House is small but perfectly formed. It is however a lovely place to spend a night or two in the Yorkshire Dales.. it's also just a short walk from Giggleswick and Settle. One room living with plenty of charm, ideal for a single person, a couple or 3 friends (a bit like a bunk barn, but more comfy).
The green oak frame building started life as my shed, but now has a heated stone floor, cosy bed deck, mini kitchen, shower "room" and composting loo (it doesn't smell!) The bed deck has a double bed and there's a day bed on the ground floor. It is basic, but does have everything you need to spend a weekend in the Dales. The bed deck, WC and kitchen are in the eves.. but what the place lacks in size it makes up for in charm.
The house is at the end of a quite road, direct access to the fells or a few minutes walk in to Giggleswick or Settle
  • We had such a lovely stay at David’s cabin. The place was clean, tidy and exactly as described. It was a short walk into Settle to the cosy cafes and shops, or a little pub just around the corner. A great little weekend escape!

  • As they say small things come in small packages ...the Tiny House is just that! Tiny! but is just perfect for a cheeky escape to Yorkshire Dales ..

  • Beautiful, cosy and well thought out dwelling, everything you need in a compact space with a very friendly host and stunning surroundings.

  • I booked with David at his Garden House in relative short notice, literally within the space of a few hours of booking and travelling there. Amazing and prompt communication to arrange the booking. The house itself is so idyllic, such a creative way of making a small amount of space into something quirky and relaxing, I felt at home as soon as I arrived. Situated perfectly just out of Settle but very easy to find (even in the dark ha) . Will definitely be booking again! 👍

    David2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely and cosy cabin with more space than others that we have stayed in of a similar type. You have to be fairly mobile and able-bodied to use the ladder but we managed it fine. Great accommodation which we would book again if we needed to be in the area.

    Laura2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming little home from home. Highly recommend

  • What a fantastic little place! Everything you need for a cosy stay in a beautiful part of the world with amazing walks quite literally on the doorstep. The cabin was perfect for what I needed and David was a super helpful and friendly host, would definitely recommend.

This is Glamping at its best, get away from it all, in this luxury heated Sleepy Squirrel Pod, essentially self catering, modern equipped kitchen, ensuite, luxurious double bed, quality bed linen, bathrobes, towels, blackout blinds. Spend a wonderful weekend in this unique compact Pod with a woodland view + patio. Self contained, and all with key safes for self-checkin! checkout availability other two listings: Snoozy Owl Pod and Cosy Cottontail Studio Apartment.
Enjoy moonlight and star gazing in this Eco pod with all the luxury of a five star apartment! This pod is 6m x 3m and has a compact kitchen, table and chairs for cosy dining, an ensuite bathroom with a double shower, constant supply of hot running water and a mains lavatory, electric radiators, little electric stove and a heated blanket:) In the spirit of "getting away from it all " the pod does not have a TV but I do provide a radio, books and games Please note: that WiFi is available on the front porch of the pod and the surrounding areas, the signal doesn't seem to permeate the 2 layers of solid wood, layer of foil or the wool insulation. If you require full WIFI signal and SKY Catchup TV, see my other listing "King bed with Ensuite and full english breakfast" in the main Lodge. Sleeps 2 adults in a double bed, and there's enough room for another person or child on a zed bed or airbed or cot bed, this fits in at the foot of the double bed. The pod is made of larch wood, and insulated with a good layer or wool, there's also a layer of foil to keep you Cosy and warm, or cool if soaring summer temperatures need to be kept in check... But this is Yorkshire so we live in hope:)) there's a double glazed bespoke circular door and a window to the side overlooking woodland, this provides you with good natural lighting and air circulation. You will find plenty of coat hooks for walking jackets, a single wardrobe with drawers and a hairdryer. There's head height of 2.5m which gives a feeling of space, unlike the great outdoor tents. The pod is self catering, a local supermarket is just a short walk. Although, in the fridge and on the shelves you will find enough milk to make a warm drink or two, orange juice, bread/crumpets, homemade jam and marmalade, butter and a good selection of coffee, tea, biscuits and chocolates to help you relax! These are complimentary just enjoy :) There are plenty of books and a radio in the pod. The pod has a stone patio area with a table and chairs for you to have breakfast or a late night star gazing experience... Guests are asked politely not to smoke, or light candles, the structure is made entirely of wood , therefore for safety reasons naked flames are not allowed under any circumstances . For ambiance I can provide you with some LED flickering tea lights. Guests are free light candles safely on the patio or garden.
The immediate area is extremely quiet and peaceful, my home is adjacent to a woodland, and a very pretty open (not spooky) cemetery with two beautiful Gothic chapels, one faces North and one South, neither of which are used for any ecclesiastical purposes, but have been converted into office space. The cemetery is used regularly throughout the day and into the evening by dog walkers, and walkers wanting to take a leisurely stroll along the river, or cross the bridge to Middleton Woods (known by locals as Bluebell Woods). From the bedroom window squirrels can be seen scurrying up and down nearby trees, rabbits can be watched playing at dawn and dusk and there's also an owl that can sometimes be heard hooting at night. The pod is in my garden with lawns patios, flowerbeds, trees and the sleeping area overlooks the adjacent woodland. My home is near a Yorkshire Water plant, only water is filtered here to produce drinkable clean water, and any odorous waste is removed and treated at a plant 12 miles away. The wind predominantly blows south to easterly along the river Wharfe, which is in the opposite direction of my home and downstream towards Burley in Wharfedale. Ashlands Road is also the home of the award winning micro brewery "Ilkley Brewery" a bottle of Mary Jane is highly recommended! Although the Pod is self catering, I have left you a supply of tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates, homemade Jam and Cardamom Marmalade, crumpets, fresh milk in the fridge, enough to start your break. The local independent supermarket is just a 5 minute walk away.

Our newly converted cottage is located 50 yards from the centre of Settle which has a excellent range of restaurants, pubs and shops. The location, although central, is only yards from the National Park with stunning walks from the front door. Registry Cottage has 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom. The lounge/kitchen is on the first floor, which makes the most of the great views. There is also a relaxed seated mezzanine area. We are dog friendly.
The large upstairs space is vaulted with very tall windows bringing in masses of light. Above the kitchen there is a mezzanine area with two large armchairs and table with games, great for kids to do their own thing or adults to relax. The bedrooms are both very cosy and comfortable, the master bedroom has a comfortable chair for reading. The cottage (converted from the towns registry office) with all it's interesting features has been a real labour of love and we are extremely proud of it. N. B. During this difficult period we have altered our cleaning regime to pay extra attention (using disinfectant and steam cleaners) to areas that are touched regularly, such as doorknobs, drawer pulls, the toilet flush lever, faucet handles, remote controls, light switches, seating areas, etc. We have also supplied the cottage with plenty of tissue, disposable paper towels and hand soap. If there are any additional safeguards you require please don't hesitate to contact us.
  • Super space extremely well located in the middle of Settle. 50 metres from Talbot pub that does good filling dinners useful after a days walking. The flat has a feeling of space and is well equipped. Would go again if we can find the time.

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I recently spent a couple of nights at a Bruce’s Cottage in the centre of Settle and really enjoyed my stay . The cottage is really well designed and comfortable and Bruce was a great host , he had very kindly switched the heating on and left milk and biscuits so I could make a brew when I arrived . Very much appreciated after a challenging drive up in the rain ! The cottage is ideally situated within the village and for exploring the wonderful countryside in the area . Will definitely be back !

    John2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • The Nook is an excellent base from which to explore Settle and beyond! The space is clean and comfortable, as well as being well equipped. The log burner was a bonus for keeping warm on an evening.

    Michael2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is beautiful, in a great central location. Finding parking nearby was not an issue, as the roads are narrow and steep. We spent 3 nights here, it was very cold. But the cottage is so cosy with the log burner on. We would definitely return to the nook.

    Lisa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 3 nights in the cottage. It is a good size for a couple, and nice and comfortable. The wood burner gets it warm nice and quickly too. It is on a very narrow street as in the description, but parking was never a problem. Settle was a perfect base for exploring the Dales too.

  • Fantastic cottage, and a fantastic host!

  • A cosy and quirky place to stay, as well as being absolutely spotless; the location could not be more convenient. It is located right in the town centre yet not noisy and not lots of people waking past. This makes it a convenient space with allocated parking very useful. We were therefore able to go out to eat at night without having to drive or take a taxi, everything was less than 5 minutes walk away. I would recommend this place to my friends, not only The Wash House ,but Skipton is a great place and a great base for trips further afield.

    Katie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay at The Wash House was perfect- we will return again! It is so comfortable and well equipped and we love being in the centre of Skipton and yet close to beautiful Wharfedale.

We have made nice walks from the house, and by maximum 10 minutes in car. This was our first time Yorkshire Dales, we think that Tim & Helens cottage is the perfect base for it!!!

It was a great place from which to explore the Yorkshire dales! Plenty in the kitchen to cater for ourselves and Tim even gave some great recommendations for a nearby birthday breakfast. Cannot recommend highly enough! Thanks for a lovely stay. The fire was extra special and a super comfy bed!

    Angela2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a place to get away from it all, then The Fold is perfect. It’s a pleasant walk into Settle for local amenities. Very comprehensive information is provided by Tim and Helen before you arrive and any queries are dealt with promptly. We had a very enjoyable weekend doing very little except relax.

    Jane2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is set in a beautiful location down a very quiet lane. It's perfect for a couple to get away from it all! Lovely open fire, super comfy bed & nice big bath! Everything you need for self catering and a good wifi signal too! The surrounding scenery is stunning and Settle is superb for great pubs & quirky shops. We particularly enjoyed the food at the golden lion and the hospitality and ales at the Talbot. Being just a 20 min walk into the village was ideal! We will highly recommend to our friends!

This pod has a compact kitchen, table and chairs for cosy dining, double bed and double sofa bed, an ensuite bathroom with a quadrant shower, constant supply of hot running water and a mains lavatory, electric radiators, little electric stove and a heated blanket:) In the spirit of "getting away from it all " the pod does not have a TV but I do provide a radio, books and games Please note: that WiFi is available on the front porch of the pod and the surrounding areas, the signal doesn't seem to permeate the 2 layers of solid wood, layer of foil or the wool insulation. If you require full WIFI signal and TV, see my other listings "King bed with Ensuite and full english breakfast" and Cosy Cottontial Studio Apartment. Sleeps 2 adults in a double bed, and a sofa bed which is similar in size to a small double bed, with bedding provided included in the extra person price. There's enough room for a cot bed and I can provide one if required. The pod is made of larch wood, and insulated with a good layer of wool, there's also a layer of foil to help keep you Cosy and warm, or cool if soaring summer temperatures need to be kept in check... You will find plenty of coat hooks for walking jackets, a single wardrobe with drawers and a hairdryer. There's head height of 2.5m which gives a feeling of space, unlike the great outdoor tents. The pod is self catering, a local supermarket is just a short walk. Although, in the fridge and on the shelves you will find milk, orange juice, bread/crumpets, homemade jam and marmalade, butter and a good selection of coffee, tea, biscuits and chocolates to help you relax! These are complimentary just enjoy :) There are plenty of books and a radio in the pod. The pod has a stone patio area with a table and chairs for you to have breakfast or a late night star gazing experience... Guests are asked politely not to smoke or light candles, the structure is made entirely of wood, therefore for safety reasons naked flames are not allowed under any circumstances . For ambiance I can provide you with some LED flickering tea lights. Please note: I do not charge a cleaning fee, instead I trust that you will look after my little Snoozy Owl Pod. The prices quoted are weekdays Monday to Thursday, the price increases slights for Friday and Saturday bookings.

  • What a stunning home! So cosy and welcoming. I stayed with my dogs for one night and found it to be absolute bliss! So quiet at night too! Loved the gated area, very secure for my pups, so I felt quite happy letting them out. Some wonderful little touches - the flowers were stunning, thank you! So much more than I expected, would stay again!

Located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales right on the Pennine way. The ground floor apartment overlooks the River Aire and has amazing views across the river and beyond. There are excellent walk/cycle routes right on the door step. Malham is a 2.5 mile walk along the river. Both guest bedrooms are clean and comfortable. 1 has an ensuite shower room and there is a family bathroom with shower. Both the kitchen and bathrooms are new (June 2017).
Welcome to our comfortable, ground floor apartment in the Grade II listed former Airton mill. Airton is a small village in the Yorkshire Dales 9 miles NW of Skipton (The Gateway to the Dales). The apartment has just finished a major conversion (June 2017) which includes a new kitchen, ensuite shower room and family bathroom and new heating throughout. The mill has communal gardens, a BBQ area and access to 'Frank's Land' which is a pretty wildflower meadow alongside the river. The location is gorgeous and is definitely the best place to be on a sunny day. In summer the river is ideal for young children to play in (supervised of course) and it even has its own 'beach' on the other side of it. It's also ideal for the less energetic to relax and watch all the wildlife on the river and in the field opposite. For the more energetic there are numerous breathtaking walks and bike rides right from the door step. The Pennine Way actually crosses along the other side of the river. Some of the Dales most popular sites like Malham Cove, Malham Tarn, Janet's Foss and Gordale Scar are all within walking distance (3 miles). The nearest shop is the excellent farm shop and tea room which is a 5/10 minute walk. There is a good pub 2 miles away in Kirby Malham.
  • What a lovely place to stay. The river running by the front door was crystal clear and babbling. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped for our stay. A lovely surprise to find a Christmas bottle of Prosecco and biscuit box to greet us. We'll definitely try and book again when we next come to visit our Yorkshire based relatives.

  • A spacious, sparkling clean apartment in a great location! Sarah is a great host and she had thought of lots of extras to leave that are really handy! There was also a really good collection of games and toys for rainy days. The bathrooms and kitchen were modern and in good working order and there was plenty of space throughout the apartment. Thank you for a lovely holiday! 😊

  • Beautiful location, so many great walks and sights within a reasonable distance. Sarah is a great host too.

  • Fantastic place, with very thoughtful touches. A lot of toys for children (though that was reducing space for own clothes in the one bedroom). However the flat it spacious and offers a great base for exploring parts of the Yorkshire Dales. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I can highly recommend it. Sarah was very helpful when we realised that we’ve left something behind and acted as communicator between us and the new guests. Thank you so much.

  • We had a lovely stay here with our two kids. The hosts were great: a light was out, they fixed it the next day; we left an item behind, they kindly posted it out to us. It was clean, well equipped and lots to keep us entertained inside if the weather was bad (which thankfully it wasn’t). We made equally good use of the board games and local walks guide. We went to Malham Cove and up to the Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes, both of which I would recommend. Beautiful part of the world, lovely little cottage. What’s not to like?

  • Myself and two friends had a great stay at the Hayloft. It is a quirky, cosy space and just what we needed for a weekend. The flat was clean and they provided tea, coffee and biscuits as well as basics for cooking. It's in a great location for accessing the surrounding countryside, Malham Cove and also has some good pubs within walking distance. I would recommend this place to anyone wishing to stay in the area.

  • The directions from the owners led us exactly to the barn. Lovely stylish space, very comfortable bed with plenty of fresh towels. The little electric fire made the barn so cosy at night time when cuddling up on the sofa. The location is right in town with local bars and shops just a few minutes walk away. Would highly recommend, owners gave local tips about where to eat amongst other things. Great communication. Hope to visit again x

  • What can I say about The Barn that hasn’t been said already? It has been by far the most perfect Air Bnb experience we have ever had. Warm and comfortable with all the amenities you need. Jill is a wonderful host - always at hand when we had a question. The Barn is in a great location, just a 15 min drive into Settle (where there are plenty of pubs and shops - we also picked up a lovely Indian one night) and more importantly close to outstanding views and walks in the North Yorkshire countryside. We just loved every minute. Can’t wait to book again. Thank you!

  • Jill and John have made considerable effort to create a comfortable and stylish barn conversion. We immediately felt at home and a bit spoilt! A nice surprise was to look out in the evenings and see lots of stars in this dark sky location. Within a short drive are great places to see in both the Forest of Bowland AONB and the Yorkshire Dales national park. We also appreciated the stream that runs through the garden. As a couple, we had everything we needed for a relaxing couple of days.

Museums, steam trains, ice-cream farm, falconry centre - the variety of activities ensures there will never be a dull moment, whatever the weather.
  • Beautiful home and very well equipped. Great location with walks straight from the front door and lovely view of the river at the back. Lovely bathroom - fab for soaking tired muscles after a days walking. Great location for Malham too. All in all 💯 %.

  • Jesca's home was beautiful and comfortable. The whole family enjoyed the scenic hiking trails just outside the home, the views from the back windows, the small quiet town, the country drive getting there, and the great Farm House grocery store and tea room. This is a stop I recommend if you are looking for special! Enjoyed our stay!!

  • Jesca’s place was perfect for our needs, spotless, well equipped, and in a beautiful location. Jesca was very easy to communicate with, our booking was at short notice, however the booking was completed promptly without fuss. Jesca’s customer standards are high. She informed me of a very minor omission from the advertised facilities. I would not have noticed and had I done so certainly not complained, such was my very favourable impression of her property. Nonetheless, without my bidding Jesca gave me a rebate to compensate my ‘inconvenience’. Quality service, highly recommended.

  • The room was big and comfortable, the bed feel great. Have a massive table for working as well. Everything very clean. Great to have my own bathroom and toilet too. Dianne so great at hospitality and she made very yummy carrot cake 🧁 thanks so much 10 stars 🌟 if can give all for this place and Dianne. Will be back and stay there for sure.

  • Dianne has a lovely home within walking distance of the town centre. The room has a comfortable double bed with lovely views. She made me very welcome, checking in with me before I arrived about the cereals and bread I wanted for breakfast and providing home baking to help myself to during my stay. I would definitely recommend Dianne’s place to stay.

    Karen2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Dianne is a fabulous host and couldn't have been more helpful. The room had everything I needed (including enough plug sockets). On my arrival there were even homemade shortbread!

    Joe2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dianne is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. The room is comfy and spacious, with a large desk. The kitchen is well equipped. The whole house is kept very clean. Skipton offers easy access to several great hikes and other destinations in the Yorkshire Dales, even without a car. The only negative point is that the house was a bit cold during the day, but Dianne gave me an electric radiator which kept me warm while I was working.

    Julien2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place is 10-minute walk away from the Town Centre with several shops and pubs. The room has a lovely view of a hill and is spacious for one person. You get your own bathroom which is clean and spacious as well. Interaction with the guest was excellent (she give local advice, provide instructions for breakfast and is happy to help with what you need) Highly recommended!

  • Dianne was just marvelous! Her place is not far from the center of town but feels like it is way out in the country! Very quiet. The private bath was a treat. Her suggestions were spot on and she was very easy to talk with. We enjoyed our short stay with her immensely.

  • We had such a nice break in this beautiful house. Such a good location and lovely views, it must be great in the Summer when you can enjoy the garden too. We loved the design and decor of the house and the three bathrooms were perfect. Mary was very helpful and quick to respond to queries and we fell in love with Skipton, so many shops, a market and great walks nearby. Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • We had a very pleasant stay in this comfortable and spacious house which is in a great location in terms of views and proximity to things we wanted to visit. We found Mary easy to communicate with and quick to answer/resolve any queries. We enjoyed the board games selection and the kids had fun playing hide and seek ☺

  • This house was ideal for our trip, it’s a classic semi with 2 good bedrooms (1 en-suite) and a third box room with single bed. The downstairs rooms were cosy and well equipped. The travel cot and high chair were much appreciated for our small children. Nice paved patio garden will be nice in the summer too.

Set in a perfect location with easy access for exploring the Yorkshire Dales - on foot or on bikes. You have your own South Facing garden area, with furniture & BBQ - overlooking the grass tennis court, which you are more than welcome to use (rackets & tennis balls available). The perfect place to relax.
Cracoe is a lovely, friendly Yorkshire Dales village with a local pub, farm shop & café. Situated along the Way of the Roses cycle route, ideal for cycling enthusiasts.
  • Rudd House Cottage was spotlessly clean and beautifully renovated. The cake and prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch and we had a couple of cosy nights in front of the wood burner. The cottage was the perfect location for a couple of days relaxing and exploring North Yorkshire, with Malham Cove, Bolton Abbey, Aysgarth Falls, Ribblehead Viaduct and the Wensleydale Creamery all easily drivable. It’s remote enough to enjoy the peace and quiet but, with a great pub across the road and a well-stocked farm shop 10 minutes away, everything you need is nearby. We didn’t see our hosts during our stay but we didn’t need to, the cottage had everything we needed and everything worked perfectly. Our only complaint, two nights just wasn’t long enough! We would love to return and will be recommending to friends and family.

    Rachel2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautifully furnished, with high quality fixtures and fittings, it has everything you need and more. It is in a great location with Malham Cove and Bolton Abbey just a short distance away. There is also a lovely pub – the Devonshire Arms Country Inn opposite, which has a menu catering for all including lots of gluten free options available. Will definitely be recommending it to friends and family.

    Ross2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic stay at Rudd House Cottage. Sparkling clean & a warm welcome with a bottle of prosecco, fresh orange juice, bottled water, milk AND a Victoria Sponge cake as a welcome on arrival. Michelle & Simon have done a fantastic job renovating the cottage & we enjoyed looking through the picture book of the renovation. The bed was so comfy and the log burner was great to sit in front of in the evening. Clear communication & helpful info provided in the cottage. We’d love to come back soon. Thank you for going above & beyond, it’s really appreciated.

    Sophie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage surpassed our expectations, it was immaculate, Michelle has thought of everything and more. It’s ideally situated for peace and seclusion, there’s plenty of great walks to do from the doorstep to the surrounding pretty villages, and good amenities a short drive away (Keelham’s Farm Shop is a must). The pub directly across the road is also great. Can’t wait to stay again.

    Laura2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle’s cottage is gorgeous, very stylishly decorated and has everything you could possibly need. The local area is great, right in the heart of the dales with a wonderful pub just opposite. Michelle is also a fantastic host, very responsive, thoughtful and accommodating of our new-parent needs. A fabulous stay I heartily recommend!

    Harriet2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Rudd house cottage is a definite 5* Every detail has been thought of to make the stay a real joy. The cottage has been transformed (pictures of how it looked, once inside) to such a high standard with small touches a real added bonus. The views of the back-way are lovely alongside the tennis courts and secluded drive at the front. Michelle’s communication was spot on as well as it being so easy to check ourselves in. One day, we found ourselves in a slight pickle (our own doing!!) but simon was on hand to help us out. All in all, we had a great couple of days in Cracoe and we will most definitely return soon. You will have a great time here....

We are pleased to add to our portfolio Pinfold Cottage, a pretty detached stone cottage in rural Tosside, BD23 4SQ (Please see on the map direction for “The Old Post House” which is next door as Pinfold doesn’t show on google maps) When you arrive at Tosside (it is only very small) you will arrive at a crossroads, at the crossroads there is a community centre, the Old Vicarage Tearooms, the pub which is now a house and the Old Post House (detached house) and Pinfold Cottage (see sign).
Pinfold used to be the village post office and has had considerable renovation work to make it into the georgeous little detached cottage in the centre of this little rural village. We have recently added this delightful little gem to our quirky trio of cottages in the Yorkshire Dales and aim to give it more of a “cabin” theme. Pinfold is a small two bed detached stone built cottage with garden/patio, in the heart of the village of Tosside in the Yorkshire Dales - South just six miles from Settle. Split over three levels with it’s individual quirky style, Pinfold Cottage has been transformed from former farm buildings to the local village post office and now to provide a compact but well thought out unique detached stone cottage. Nestled on the border of North Yorkshire and Lancashire, Pinfold is a perfect retreat for couples or small families wishing to get away from it all and simply relax. Pinfold features two charming double bedrooms with lovely views of the village. There is a modern shower room on the ground floor, off the kitchen with chrome towel rail, shower with glass screen, sink with large mirror and low flush toilet. Into the kitchen from the main door which boasts attractive bespoke features and a stone flag floor. Two steps down into the spacious lounge with cosy wood burning stove, a leather sofa and chair to sink into by the fire with a tipple if your choice! There is also a small dining area where you can sit and discuss the day’s adventures with dinner or play board games with the kids or simply sit with a coffee and a magazine! An open plan staircase leading up to the carpeted bedroom’s with fixed double beds on a king size platform. (Guests always compliment how comfortable our beds are 💤) Outside is a private patio/garden where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine (or two) on a warm summer evening. BBQ sizzling away. The surrounding area is wonderful for walking and cycling with lovely footpaths leading right from the door of Pinfold Cottage. Gisburn Forest Mountain Bike Trails are close by, where cyclists of all abilities can enjoy a fabulous day out! Lying between the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland which is a designated Area of Natural Beauty is one not to be missed! Pinfold amenities include: Electric central heating and a wood burning stove. (Please bring along logs for the fire if required and clean fire on departure - thank you). Small Baby Belling Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, TV with numerous channels, DVD, CD/radio, WiFi, selection of books and DVDs. Electric heating included in rent. PLEASE TURN THE HEATER’S AND TOWEL RAIL DOWN ON DEPARTURE - thank you. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent (apart from the sofa bed for extra guests - please bring along your bed linen/sleeping bag/pillows. Hairdryer, loo roll, hand soap, fairy liquid, tea, coffee, sugar, all the basics. (Please bring along your own toiletries). Free roadside parking opposite the cottage. Two village car parks within 30 yards. Private Patio/garden to the front and back of the cottage. Sorry strictly no smoking inside the cottage or grounds. Note: The beds are fixed on wooden plynth, five foot wide on individual mattresses and accessed by a two step stool - no different from a normal double only a little higher and are very cosy and comfortable). Settle 6 miles Clitheroe 12 miles Skipton town centre 15 miles Tosside is a small, attractive Yorkshire Dales village set between the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales, six miles from Settle and fifteen miles from Skipton, popularly known as the Gateway to the Dales. Historically part of Yorkshire, following boundary changes in the 70’s, the village now straddles two counties, with the Eastern part of the village in Yorkshire, and the Western part in Lancashire! To the North, the landscape rises to the fells, moors and picturesque valleys of the Dales, while the south are the wetlands of the Ribble Valley, which in turn, sweep upward to the beautiful wilderness of Bowland, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nearby Settle is a bustling market town with a weekly market, the centre being dominated by the Shambles, a historic 3 storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, or for a great day out, travel on the renouned Settle-Carlisle railway line which crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. Venture into Clitheroe, a busy market town full of lively bars and restaurants, friendly pubs, and a castle!

  • A lovely cosy, quirky cottage with comfortable beds and a great wood burner for winter evenings. Old Vicarage Bistro was also quite quirky but great value food and good service within very close walking distance. Very clean and everything we needed provided

  • A lovely cottage in a very small peaceful village. A wonderful place for accessing the Forest of Bowland or the North Yorkshire Dales. Myself & my wife visited Settle & Malham both well worth a trip. If its a relaxing getaway your after look no further. Sarah was a great host very helpful via the phone on arrival. Just pack a few things & go you will love it.

  • A really lovely little cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay over the Christmas period; Sarah had even added some nice Christmas touches. A cosy place to stay in but also walking distance to Gisburn forest. Wood was also left for the log burner which we used well, but if you are staying longer than a couple of days it might be advised to bring extra. Thanks for a great stay!

    Jess2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little cottage with everything you need! Beds comfortable and lovely to relax in and look at all the lovely touches. Spotless and clean . We will definitely come back again and spend longer next time. Thank you Sarah for responding and communicating well!!

  • We arrived in the dark but lights were left on for us and on opening up we were greeted by a cosy quirky warm reception. The radio had been left on low so as you entered the kitchen it was almost like stepping back in time. We lit the fire straight away and settled in with a cup of tea. My two children loved it. There were plenty of toys which my little girl was very happy to find. The bathroom was spotless with plenty of hot water and a nice towel rail to dry our towels on. We had freeview, Wi-fi and plenty of wood for the fire. We didn’t cook in the cottage and instead opted to have breakfast at The Old Vicarage Tearoom which was a 1min walk from the cottage. The food was great quality and good value. Overall if your looking for a cosy quirky cottage where you can have 1 foot in Lancashire and another in Yorkshire close to places like Settle, Skipton and Clitheroe then Pinfold Cottage is for you.

    Rob2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had the most magical weekend! The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, the location is beautiful and rural, however still close to pub and shop. Loved the log burner, the cottage has all you need. Our 1yr son loved the toys, travel cot and high chair were a god send. Would highly recommend and will be returning xxxxx

  • Lovely little cottage. Really interestingly converted building. Kitchen is very quirky, basic but usable.

    Catherine2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem of a place! We loved it that much we stayed another night. The cute cottage had everything we could possible need for a break away. Set in its own garden with outside table and chairs we were able to enjoy the fresh air and listen to the nearby sheep in the field at the rear of the property. The views were fantastic and come evening we had tiny bats flitting by and a sunset to gaze at! Bliss! The cottage really quaint and had real personality compared to the generic Premier Inns etc we tend to go to! The main bedroom was lovely and the bed very comfy. Our daughters had the other room. We felt right at home there, made some delicious meals with the Baby Belling cooker and went on a few bike rides. The area was beautiful and the nearby Gisburn forest was a great place to ride our bikes! The local pub/bistro was very popular with walkers and cyclists and we had a drink there in their garden. It was next to a very interesting church dating back to 1694. Booths was about a 15 minute drive away so we made sure to stock up before we arrived as there were no local shops. Sarahs cottage was only half an hour away from wonderful Skipton and Malham with its magical beauty spot - Janet’s Foss! Enchanting indeed on a sunny day! We didn’t get to Settle but went to Waddington for a delicious lunch at the Higher Buck which we would recommend! Sarah was a Super Host indeed and was available to talk to by mobile or text. We recommend her darling cottage to anyone who wants to get away from it all, drink in the outstanding beauty of the area around the Forest of Bowland and catch your breath! Wonderful!

  • The apartment was cosy, clean and as described. It was perfectly located near to the train station, pubs and shops and I would highly recommend booking here. Tim and Helen were great hosts, responding quickly to messages and even allowing us to drop our stuff off before check-in time so we could go hiking.

  • One of the best AirBnBs I have stayed in! Near to the station, but do follow the instructions given on AirBnB carfully, not googlemaps. Tim & Helen have made a lot of effort to make their guests feel comfortable and at home. They are very accomodating with requests. Would definitely recommend their place to anyone visiting settle!

The Cosy Cottontail Studio Apartment has everything you will need to enjoy a break in glorious Ilkley. Your own private secure entrance and private space with luxurious double bed, and newly refurbished ensuite shower room, fully equipped modern kitchen, free Wi-Fi, Freeview TV, walk in wardrobe, shelving, dining area and sofa. Enjoy moonlight and star gazing in this luxury five star ground floor apartment! Sleeps 2 adults in a double bed, there is room for a cot in the bedroom area, this area essentially sleeps 2 adults and an infant. A cot can be provided if required. The kitchen has a sofa bed that sleeps an adult or two small children as the mattress is just larger than a single bed. The kitchen cannot be used when the sofa bed is extended. The apartment is private and secure and was formerly part of my family home.
The neighbourhood The immediate area is extremely quiet and peaceful, my home is adjacent to a woodland, and a very pretty open (not spooky) cemetery with two beautiful Gothic chapels, one faces North and one South, neither of which are used for any ecclesiastical purposes, but have been converted into trendy office space. The cemetery is used regularly throughout the day and into the evening by walkers, and is a short cut to the river Wharfe. Take a romantic leisurely stroll along the river, or cross the bridge to Middleton Woods (known by locals as Bluebell Woods). From the bedroom window squirrels can be seen scurrying up and down nearby trees, rabbits can be watched playing at dawn and dusk and there's also a pair of owls that can sometimes be heard hooting at night. The main house is adjacent to the apartment, and its known as the Old Lodge, I love my home, and find the peace and tranquility of the location brings me and my visitors great joy. The wind predominantly blows south to easterly along the river Wharfe, which is in the opposite direction of my home and downstream towards Burley in Wharfedale. There is a Yorkshire Water plant close by, although only the top water is processed here and filtered several times to produce drinkable clean water, any odorous waste is removed and treated at a plant more than 12 miles. My home is also close to the home of the award winning microbrewery "Ilkley Brewery" a bottle of their very own Mary Jane is highly recommended!
  • Wonderful place to stay, cosy and secluded. Sparkling clean and good amenities in the kitchen. Local area is delightful - would recommend a trip to the cinema, and lots of walking.

Plenty of storage space for clothes etc. Excellent location for Ilkley town centre...a lovely walk along the river, for Ilkley Moor and easy access to the A65 to explore further afield. Mechele is an excellent host. She offers almost instant response to any problems. Lots of local information provided...for walks particularly.

  • Just returned from a fantastic weekend in Ilkley staying in The Cosy Cottontail. Accommodation was absolutely lovely, lots of thoughtful touches. We got a taxi into Ilkley on the evening after a very long walk as our legs couldn’t take any more! Cost about £4. Loads to do around and about. Host was super quick in replying to messages. Can’t say much more than it was great all round!

  • Accomodation clean and comfortable, great location. Lovely to have welcome pack too. Thank you.

    Karen2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we booked, Lawrence kept us informed, and was quick to reply to any questions or concerns. Lawrence welcomed us upon our arrival, and gave a quick guided tour of the accommodation, which is absolutely brilliant for the money. Lovely touches with the welcome pack, containing snacks, milk, breakfast cereals, and prosecco. The cafe, which Lawrence and his lovely wife, Gill, run below, serves great breakfasts, and their carrot cake was devine! It's everything you need for a nice break in god's own county. We were a small family, 2 adults, 1 teenager, and a dog, and we had enough room to spread about. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The buck Inn, is literally steps away, and the Lister arms and beck hall ( secret garden), not much further. We weren't blessed with great weather, but still managed a few short walks. Malham cove is stunning, and only a mile away. Thank you Lawrence and Gill!

The suite is in a great location, we easily walked to and from Grassington for the pubs and short walks. We had some nice day trips as it wasn't too far to drive to Skipton, Malham and the Wensleydale Cheese Factory! The place itself was very cozy and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend!

  • Excellent location, a gem of a studio

    Doranne2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful cosy escape in the Dales. Everything you need at your fingertips and within such good a distance of lots to do. Kitchenette, despite being small, was super functional with a slower cooker, freezer section in fridge and a nice jug of milk for an arrival brew. Decor lovely and fresh and bed comfy, shower piping hot and thoughtful handy bits around such as clingfilm for your lunch pack up prep, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Plenty of good oversized towels to cosy up in after your days walk and good storage for keeping all your bits tucked away and not cluttering up the space. Well worth a visit, great value for money and very little needed to male this a home away from home.
