Places to stay in Tetsworth
Rhus Cottage, is 3 miles from the market town of Thame, boasting many bars and restaurants and the award winning Le Manor aux Quat'Saisons. The farm has great access being 5 miles from junction 6 of the M40 with easy access to Oxford and London by train, bus or car. Aylesbury and Milton Keynes are a short drive as is Bicester Village. We have great views of the Chiltern Hills and stunning sunsets just out side the front door overlooking farm land. The cottage comes with free wifi.
Guests are welcome to join in on the farm, feeding the animals and collecting eggs, wander the fields and enjoy the garden. They may also make use of Hot tub, by prior arrangement.
Easy access to London and Oxford City and many other destinations in between. This area is littered with culture, we would be only too happy to advice you on where is good to visit. You will find a tourist information folder in the cottage which lists many attractions as well as nearby facilities.
  • A calm little cottage away from everything - aside from a few peacocks! Was a lovely and relaxing place to spend two nights! Was a little difficult to travel to without a car, but the buses into Thame made it pretty accessible!

  • Great!

    Alexander2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Emily’s place was such a nice stay and wish we could have stayed longer! Everything was pristine upon arrival and check-in was very simple. Hot tub is a lovely touch, and is easy to work, the chlorine can be quite strong when you first turn it on, but once we left it on for 15 minutes with the door open the smell was gone! Overall lovely stay and will definitely come back again 😊

  • Nice, cosy space and pleasant surroundings. Great for some scenic peace :-)

  • Beautiful & peaceful setting. Had an amazing nights sleep and the animals wondering about were very entertaining.

  • Lovely gem of a place, will definitely be back soon, had everything we needed and more and waking up to ducks, peacocks and geese was super cool.

    Jody2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the location, the wonderful views of the countryside, and the trail of geese, hens, cockerels, and peacocks that would parade along the path in front of the annexe, and the peacocks would even perch on the garden table and chairs outside my window ledge. The whole managerie of birds would then be seen scattered over the grassed areas of the farm. That is priceless and wonderful. The annexe space is very well appointed, and I made good use of it. The bed was really comfy, and I could just sprawl out over the lounge corner armchair. I would agree with past comments that it needs a lick of renewal, but the structure and furniture is sound and it was not a problem. I stuck to using the oven where the baking trays and pyrex dishes were great. I loved the touch of a loaf of bread and fresh duck and hen eggs, not forgetting the wine in the fridge which was all lovely (but don't forget to bring milk!). Emily rides horses and her father works on the farm, and both are totally down to earth. I didn't see anyone else. I enjoyed my stay as a totally down to earth, escape to the country, space for myself type of experience.

  • The Annexe was beautiful and a great place to relax. It had everything we needed! The hot tub at night time was so nice and peaceful and you can see so many stars. The place is really clean and well looked after. We loved all the little touches including the birthday balloons and fresh flowers. We will definitely be returning.

  • Can’t believe it’s been a year since we have been. Absolutely love this place it’s so peaceful and relaxing. You have all you need and are so close to nature. • This is our second time staying at the Annexe and I'd forgotten how lovely it was. So luxurious, so well decorated and nice touches with the flowers, croissants and bathroom toiletries. Had a very relaxing stay and will be sure to visit again! Hot tub, bath and bed amazing and very comfortable. Great location, lots of peace and quiet. Can't fault this place.

  • Our stay at the Annexe was everything we could have asked for! It was beautiful and our host Rebekah was perfect. The Annexe is beautifully decorated, and I would definitely recommend a night time visit to the hot tub. The views of the stars are picturesque. Thank you for everything Rebekah, we will definitely be back!

  • Our second visit to the annexe certainly didn’t disappoint! It’s still an beautiful as before! It’s our little happy place & cant wait to come back again! From the Molton brown toiletries to the welcome basket. Everything was just perfect. The towels and dressing gowns all John Lewis, everything is such high quality! The hot tub is a fab extra to enjoy, as the views are something else. Super clean & an amazing host! Thank you once again Rebekah xx

    Laura2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Annexe is a very special place. The specification is 'top drawer' and there is everything you could possibly want for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Rebekah was very responsive and 'went the extra mile' to ensure we had everything we needed. The fresh flowers around the home were delightful and a very thoughtful touch. We would definitely recommend the Annexe.

A contemporary guesthouse set in the the garden of an Oxfordshire stone cottage within walking distance of Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons. We bought the house in 2013 and completely renovated the cottage and annexe. The previous owner was Richard Curtis who wrote Blackadder, Four Weddings and a Funeral and the Vicar of Dibley whilst living here! The interiors are fresh and contemporary
As the photos show, we have a small space where there are coffee and tea making facilities and a Nespresso machine. We will leave milk, cereal, croissants and jam for a light continental breakfast the following morning.
Great Haseley is a very pretty village with a good community owned pub, The Plough. Please note it does not serve food on Sunday nights. There are some great footpaths and fields for country walks. The Vicar of Dibley was written in our house and was loosely based around some of the characters in our village!
  • A lovely peaceful place to stay.

  • A wonderful stay, ideally located for Le Manoir restaurant. The bed was super comfy, and the room itself was even better than the photos. Lovely touches with the cereals and croissants. Would highly recommend! Thank you Sasha.

  • Beautiful Airbnb in a stunning little village, not far from the centre of Oxford. The Airbnb is cosy but contemporary and had lovely finishing touches that we appreciated very much. There are plenty of walks to explore and a local pub down the road. We stayed only for one night as part of a 3 night getaway, but wished we’d stayed longer. We would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you for having us :)

    Sian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is very nicely decorated and ideal for a short term getaway. We really enjoyed our stay here. It's worth noting that there aren't full kitchen facilities if planning on having a meal at the property.

    Carolina2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful decor, very comfy bed, super clean, lovely breakfast... All in all a charming little cottage!

  • I stay in many Airbnb places, and this still rates as my favourite. Loads of room, always spotless. Sky TV and a very comfortable bed. I'll be back!

    Clive2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I was staying here for work (checked in late and checked out out early) so it was such a shame I couldn’t stay longer. Lovely space, easy check in, very homely and great value for money.

    Angie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Location, and the property was a home away from home. Travelling on work trips can be uncomfortable being away from home. But staying at Craigs place made things much more comfortable. Craig even at short notice within an hour managed to confirm my booking and his place was ready to go. It has everything you need and you can tell tha place is well looked after, there's peaceful energy about the place - enjoyed my stay and will be back if back in the area on business.

    Michael2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • A totally self contained annex, lovely little touches here and there, very comfortable bed and a nice 'home from home' near to the M40 (but you can't hear it!). Craig is very attentive and helpful. Personally, if you need to stay near Thame, look no further.

    Roger2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding accommodation, friendly host, exceptionally clean, stylish and spacious. In all aspects this was excellent accommodation except for one thing - there is no shower cubicle (only hand held shower rose over bath). The host alerts guests to this in the listing description, and it is our fault that we did not pick this up. Someone with mobility issues would struggle with this, as did my husband who has a prosthetic leg and could not get into the bath. Otherwise this accommodation is highly recommended.

  • Davina is an excellent and very welcoming host who does everything she can to make you feel at home. Her beautiful home is luxurious and just out the main town centre which was perfect for me travelling to a course nearby. I would be very happy to stay here again and an added benefit is having a chat over breakfast with Davina - you don't have to do that but I thoroughly enjoyed her company. I'd much rather stay here than a hotel :)

    Lynne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Recommend Davina's place 100%. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Davina thinks of everything. Great location too. Genuinely lovely lady.

  • Davina is an amazing host. Have stayed with her many times now

    Vicki2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Davina was incredibly welcoming, generous and accommodating. She was so lovely and flexible about my comings and goings, especially as I had to dash out when I first arrived and I got back late in the evening. She provided lots of breakfast and snacks, and was lovely to chat to. The room was completely spotless, had everything you needed, and lots of thoughtful touches (so many toiletries!). I would have liked to have stayed longer and would definitely recommend it to others.

    Charlotte2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Not the first time I stayed at Davina's place. I received the same kindness and immaculately clean place to stay as always.

My place is a quiet village retreat. The perfect place to minimise contact in the current crisis. Private building and access within easy reach of the beauty of the Chilterns. Easy access to London, Oxford and Thames Valley in the centre of Midsomer Murders country. You’ll love my place because of the peace, safety, light, and the large private outdoor space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families with kids. Escape from the current crisis but with access to all amenities
This is a country retreat with your own private, detached first floor apartment in the grounds of a historic thatched home. Your accommodation was originally built as a studio for the 20th Century Artist, Stanley Anderson. His work is still highly desirable today and recently had his own exhibition at the Royal Academy. He was inspired by the country setting and peace. The apartment consists of an open plan lounge diner/ kitchen, a very spacious double bedroom and a compact but modern and well equipped shower room. We provide all bedding, towells and a fully equipped kitchen. There is one king size bed in the bedroom and a brand new double sofa bed in the lounge. The king size bed has a lovely pocket spring mattress. The sofa bed is best for children or teenagers. While it is a good quality sofa bed it does have the limitations of being a sofa bed! We have a superb washing machine and free wifi
Towersey is a small, traditional village about 1 mile from the very pretty market town of Thame. Towersey has many thatched and other historic buildings, a park, a church, a village pub with a good beer garden. The village is on a minor road so is generally quiet with light traffic only. The apartment is in the garden of the main house. The main house is thatched, built in around 1620 and was believed to be the village blacksmiths (we regularly find old horseshoes in the gardens). The apartment itself is believed to have been built in the 1930's (with a tiled roof) and was used as a studio for famous artist Stanley Anderson who escaped the bombing of London to complete many of the works that earn him a highly covered fellowship of the Royal Academy

Situated in a beautiful village with local shops and amenities, 1 mile from Thame, Oxfordshire, 15 minutes from M40 to London and 7 minutes from mainline British Rail station at Haddenham.

I love living in Long Crendon and you will love this area. It is ideal for getting to so many great places. The village is picturesque and not too small, so lots of amenities, with plenty of places to eat; 2 great pubs, 3 restaurants/take-aways and small shops. There's also a library, hairdressers, mechanics, park, tennis courts, 2 churches and community centre. It's quite rural round here and so lovely walking from the village or head towards the Chiltern Hills for extended walks. My house is situated on the corner of a quiet road, lined with large sycamore trees, only a short walk to the shops and local amenities. It's a lovely place to be with friendly and helpful neighbours.

Sydenham is a small pretty village, convenient to M40. The Crown Inn, friendly village pub, is nearby and provide good food
  • Excellent accommodation in a very nice village, with a really good pub next door "The Crown Inn", Haruyo has a very small place which is very comfortable, with all of the facilities that you will need, I liked the shower you have to press one button, the fiddling with controls. Will be back in the spring, well done Haruyo

    Peter2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Haruyo’s little hideaway is a perfect compact space in a lovely country village just off the main road. The little space has everything you need. The bed is super comfy, the bed linen and quilt snuggly and clean and the bathroom has a clean shower with hot water. There is also a little kitchen stand that has plates and cups and bowls and kitchen equipment a plenty. In fact some thoughtful touches like a roll of cling film and a roll of foil helps enormously. The fridge is very small indeed and just holds a pint of milk and some butter, but when I was there it was cold enough to store stuff outdoors, but you might need to think about this if you are self catering. However Haruyo leaves a basic breakfast for her guests, of high quality but simple ingredients. The accommodation is right next to the Crown pub which is friendly, open long hours and serves delicious well priced food. I was there pre-Christmas when they were super busy, but still found me a space to sit and served delicious food - the Malteser cheesecake should not be missed! Haruyo is just next door to help with anything, and also has a knack of leaving you alone unless you need help - something that not all hosts understand. The place would be a little on the small side for a couple, but is perfect for a lone traveller and it’s easy to come and go without disturbing anyone. Highly recommend!

    David2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a sweet little shelter, small and cosy with everything in its place. It is attractive, warm and comfortable. It is stocked with quality muesli, granola, bread, milk and other breakfast supplies. Haruyo replenishes these as needed and does the washing up (there is not enough room for that in the accommodation). The local pub food is excellent, at the Crown next door and at the Inn at Emmington, down the road. Highly recommended.

    Alison2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and quiet Haruyo makes feel very welcome and is close by if you have any questions, there is also a pub 2 minutes walk away

    Ron2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, clean & stylish mini apartment with all amenities. Very comfortable bed and great shower! Haruyo is a perfect host, friendly and helpful whilst also respecting privacy. Thank you Haruyo.

  • Amazing place to stay for work or leisure. The rooms have recently been converted and in excellent condition. Amenities are a really nice touch. The living area and bedroom are both extremely comfortable and free of any noise. The bathroom is new and modern with a fantastic shower. The location is ideal, only a 2min walk from Thame High street, and there is a walking trial around the corner into a green belt area. I would definitely stay again in the future, as this is the best AirB&B I’ve ever stayed at for location, price and quality. Joe

The house was quiet and Barry gives you as much (or as little interaction) as you’d like. Perfect for anyone who’s away for business like myself. Would definitely stay again.

  • Baz is a fantastic and very friendly host. You will feel comfortable, at ease and welcome at his house in no time. His place is a charming house in the little village of Tiddington outside oxford but the A40 is easily accessible to get to Oxford city or the Thornhill park and ride site. There is a local pub for dinner but you can have access to the kitchen and the lounge if you want to eat in the house. I would highly recommend a stay at this place to any one going to Oxford and I will certainly go back in the future!

Easy access by train to London Marylebone and Bicester Village from Haddenham and Thame Parkway (10 minute drive) and a regular bus service into Oxford.
Our house is a town house and the guest bedroom and en-suite is located on the second floor. The bedroom faces the garden at the rear of the property and is nice and quiet. There is on street parking.

    Andrea2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lesley is a very friendly host and special touches like 'love hearts' left in the room for our anniversary was lovely and thoughtful. Teas, coffees and snack bars in the room was also a nice touch. Bed super soft and shower room en suite was nice, lovely warm shower. Great location - Thame is a nice little town and also good for visiting Oxford.

    Lynsey2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The bedroom is small, but beautifully warm and comfortable with everything provided for a lovely stay. There were great quality towels and bedding, plentiful tea and coffee, and Lesley also left a bowl of fruit and snack bars for us. The room and en-suite bathroom are at the top of the house so self contained and quiet. There’s a wonderful ‘proper’ old fashioned pub just along the road, with great beer - lots of conversation, and great banter! We’d also recommend Woodwork Trading coffee shop which is also close by and serves fantastic coffee and a lovely breakfast. The little museum is also well worth a visit. Thank you Lesley! We had a great weekend in Thame :)

  • We stayed in Lottie's home for 3 nights. It was a first for us as, even though we have used Air BnB many times, we have only previously made bookings for hiring a whole place. The arrangements Lottie has put in place in terms of private areas and shared areas have been carefully thought through - our stay was lovely and very good value for money. The renovations have been done to a high standard and the house is a lovely space to be in. Breakfast being included is an added bonus. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process. Our only disappointment was only meeting Ted on one evening - everything else was great!

    Kerry2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay in a lovely house

    Rebecca2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We were greeted very warmly by Marion the house manager who had prepared the house earlier than check in time for us to drop our bags off and do a quick change to go to lunch at Le Manoir aux quatre Saisons in nearby Great Milton. The house is very styish with everything you could need, even breakfast is provided. A lovely touch. The wet room bathroom and en-suite were lovely, sadly the shower had leaked the night before so the en suite shower was off limits, but the main bathroom shower was lovely. The house has been beautifully renovated and is delightfully comfortable.

    Rob2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a fantastic stay here. Place is very clean, Marion and Lottie were very welcoming upon arrival and were also able to assist with suggestions on where to visit. Ted is adorable and we would definitely recommend this place. Thanks once again for your excellent hospitality.

The property is located within the grounds of our house and is totally private and not overlooked.

  • A really lovely place. Great terrace with a lovely view across the countryside. The sauna was a real treat after a long day!

  • This was a wonderful find, great location close enough to rail links and town, but far enough away that you feel you are very much away from everything. The sauna was a fabulous and surprising extra, the room was big, airy and extremely comfortable. Definitely excellent value for money and highly recommended.

  • Thoroughly recommend. I knew from previous reviews that I would not be disappointed. Julia's accommodation delivered everything it promised as well as a comfortable bed, quiet surroundings and a great space. Nothing needs to be improved or changed. I was on business for 2 days and I looked forwards to leaving my work surroundings and retreating to this little gem.

  • Spent two nights staying at the stable and we enjoyed our time. Location is really beautiful and it was lovely to see sheep in the morning grazing on the other side of the main garden. Stayed with my wife and two young children and we had no issues; room is comfortable with a big king size bed and comfortable sofa. Would recommend this location! Thanks for having us again Julia, maybe next time we could meet the animals. :)

  • We stayed here for a weekend getaway to the countryside and had a fantastic time. The Stable was a lovely place to stay and Julia was an amazing host, offering plenty of advice about walks in the Chilterns and local pubs and coffee shops. The highlight of our trip was the sauna but the rest of the property and the location is fabulous!

    Sneha2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A super cozy space and so incredibly unique. The personal touches were clear and the sauna was a delight. Julia gave us a lot of suggestions about places to go but because the weather was so bad we couldn’t really explore however her home was so comfortable we didn’t mind staying in. Thank you so much for having us !

Sun cottage Is a most charming, beautifully presented period stone cottage dating back to the 1700s. The cottage is part thatched with very good parking and a south facing garden and idyllic countryside views to the front and rear. The cottage is located on the edge of the sought after village of Great Haseley on a quiet no through country lane. For the keen walker, it is a dream come true. Great Haseley is well known for its thriving village community and its well regarded pub ‘ The Plough’. It is situated in the neighbouring village of Great Milton which offers a village shop, a post office and Raymond Blanc’s famous hotel and restaurant ‘le Manoir aux quatr’ Saisons’. A visit to the nearby market town of Thame is also not to be missed with its comprehensive shopping facilities . The University town of Oxford is a ‘must’, offering extensive shops, and the world renowned Ashmolean Museum to name a few.
  • A beautiful cottage in a wonderful location; felt very rural and tucked out of the way whilst being situated within a short drive of Oxford and other places. The cottage was very comfortable and clean with a lovely little garden area which our dog loved. A few little touches made the stay feel extra homely and Debbie was a fantastic host who kept in touch and helped us with our plans up until and during our stay. We will be back again!

    Chloe2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a stay I don’t think the pictures fully do this property justice. Debbie was a brilliant host and helped with all our enquiries. The property is stylish, modern yet very quaint and situated in a lovely village. Will defiantly be returning

  • It’s easily apparent to see why Debbie is a superhost. She is quick to respond to any enquiries, is polite & helpful. The cottage is very clean & the facilities are second to none. The welcome pack for breakfast was greatly appreciated. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Oxford. Thank you Debbie!

  • Clean and comfortable with great communication from Jo. Felt very welcomed and really enjoyed our stay. The rainfall shower was wonderful and I really enjoyed having my breakfast with little Nutmeg for company, showing me her favourite toy.

    Chris2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Charming place in a lovely village. We used Jo’s place as our base while we visited nearby Oxford. The park and ride to town was easy to use and it was nice to return to a quiet place for the night. The space, upstairs in a thatched cottage, was totally modernized and spotless. Highly recommend!

    Renee2019-10-14T00:00:00Z

    Glen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic apartment with everything we could have needed for our weekend away. Everything is new and high spec. Some noise but none of which was the hosts fault and ultimately the apartment is on a road so only to be expected and as others have mentioned. Stylish and extremely central with a great deli and pub nearby.

    Clare2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie’s apartment is lovely! The location is ideal, 20 mins to Henley and Marlow, and just down the hill from some lovely walks. Everything in the apartment is brand new and spotlessly clean. Definitely recommend!

    Katie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie's place is clean as a whistle, fully equipped for cooking, and boasts a really comfortable bed. There are great touches throughout that were really thoughtful and made our stay more comfortable. It made for a lovely getaway. As mentioned there is a level of road noise but this did not come as a surprise. Overall highly recommended.

    Gurdeep2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie’s place was absolutely fab! The apartment is so stylish and very well stocked. was able to cook a three course meal with everything there and there were such thoughtful touches including scones and clotted cream! The apartment is located in the middle of town, it was a shame I visited on the bank holiday so everything was closed, but it looked like there were lovely shops to look around.

  • We have just come back from a fantastic stay at Emma’s place in Thame. We stayed for New Year and the location was great, we went out to the pubs and restaurants and it had a great atmosphere. We also travelled into Oxford and went on some lovey nearby country walks too. Emma’s place was SO clean and smelt amazing because of the candles and room diffusers. It was spotless. It had everything you could need in the kitchen and throughout the whole place. There were lots of thoughtful touches and it was decorated so nicely. The communication was great and check in and out was so easy, you really couldn’t fault it. We had such an enjoyable stay in Thame and we hope to be back soon!

  • This became a home away from home while I was working in the area. Nice place.

    John2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emma, although never met in person by us, came across as a warm, hospitable, understanding and very kind person. Communication with Emma prior our visit was wonderfully fast, easy and polite. With all her efforts, Emma made us feel like home and we had to admit, that we would not mind to have such space of out own just to live in. We have been given space and privacy just to enjoy our stay in a very respectful manner. Emma's Cottage became our home for only few days, but it's charming interior, well organised space and EXCEPTIONAL cleanliness of the whole household made us feel sad when we had to leave. The whole Cottage is cosy, beautifully organised, bright and furnished with taste. As both of us care for the environment, we were very happy to see that Emma cares for it, too by having organised space for waste segregation. Thame itself, although not explored as much as we would like to, happened to be a beautiful peaceful little town worth exploring. Neighborhood in which the cottage is situated is also really beautiful and quiet. We loved every second spend in Thame hosted by Emma. Both, with all our hearts, we would recommend Emma's Cottage to anyone who is looking for a nice, well managed, clean and cosy place to stay in while in Oxfordshire. Emma, as a host will definitely make that stay exceptional to anyone who is willing to accept invitation to her beautiful Cottage.

  • wonderful wee flat. we were visiting for 2 weeks for appointments in Oxford and this place was somewhere we could stay with our dog. Bernice was perfectly kind and welcoming and we're glad to have met her. we were also delighted with the location with its beautiful houses and endless footpaths to walk the dog between the fields. the flat was exceptionally clean and there was everything you'd hope for; kettle, oven, microwave, washing machine, hairdryer etc. Thank you!

The Coach House was built in the 16th Century It is a separate house but is attached to our house by a thatched archway. The popular series Midsummer Murders is often filmed in Long Crendon and our house and the High Street has appeared in it many times. The Coach House has also been a police station in the series Jeeves and Wooster.
The Coach House is a perfect space for 2 people - the bedroom is on the mezzanine level and the bathroom is downstairs. The bathroom is basic but functional, with a bath and shower. There is a smart television with netflix, catch-up TV and Amazon Prime and a private garden for enjoying a drink on a warm evenings. ABOUT LONG CRENDON Long Crendon has two pubs - the Eight Bells (which is out of the gate, turn right and it’s 2 doors down on the right) and the Churchill arms which is a 5 minute walk away. The Eight Bells serves good pub food and delicious stone baked pizzas which you can eat-in or takeaway. The Churchill Arms is more of a drinking pub although it does serve food. In the village square - turn right out of the gate and it’s a 5mins walk, there is an Indian restaurant, a butcher, a café, a corner shop, an off-licence and a fish and chip shop. There is a cashpoint machine in both the corner shop and the off-licence. There are also 2 hairdressers in the village. Opening in September 2018, a 5mins walk away just by the village square, will be a farm shop, an artisan bakery and a café. Velvet Brown which sells beautiful flower arrangements and gorgeous gifts will also be situated next to the new farm shop and café. Our favorite local restaurant is the Mole and Chicken, which is on the outskirts on the village – lovely views of countryside from the terrace. It is possible to walk there in 15mins although there isn’t a pavement or street lights so if you are walking there in the evening please remember to take a torch. There is a torch in the laundry room for you to use. There are paperback fiction books in the white cupboard in the sitting room for you to read so please help yourself but if you only get halfway through a book and want to take it away with you we’d be grateful if you could leave a book in its place. The High Street is a generally quiet area and therefore the Coach House is not suitable for parties or large gatherings. The Eight Bells Pub does have jazz evenings in the summer months but there is rarely any music after 11pm. We are also 4 miles from Haddenham & Thame Station (London 35 minutes) THAME Thame is our nearest town – a 3mins drive – which has shops, cafes and restaurants. RESTAURANTS There are quite a few restaurants nearby, most require booking on a Saturday night or for Sunday lunch The Angel in Long Crendon The Mole and Chicken in Easington Le Manoir in Great Milton The Pointer in Brill The Hundred in Ashendon The Nut Tree in Murcott The Black Horse in Thame (White Brasserie Pub) CAFES The Flower Pot in Long Crendon Little Italy in Haddenham THINGS TO DO Waddesdon Manor Bicester Village Thame Oxford London (37mins from Haddenham & Thame station) Aylesbury Stowe gardens Haddenham Oxford Weddings at Notley Barn, Notley Abbey & Dorton House
Long Crendon is a delightful village setting. The High Street is a popular tourist attraction because of the many thatched houses and the Court House which is a National Trust property. Long Crendon was voted one of the UK's top 20 villages by The Times.
  • Honestly an excellent host and a fantastic unique place. Clean and everything we needed. The street was so beautiful. Just kept waiting for a horse and carriage to come by . And the pub next door , excellent. And the Churchill, another great pub and excellent Thai food. 100% recommended

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. Charlotte provided lots of suggestions for dining all within walking distance (and all terrific!) and when we had trouble with the wifi, Hugh came right over to get it working again. There were lots of thoughtful touches and, of course, it was amazing to stay in such an old, beautiful space. We would definitely stay there again and can recommend the Coach House wholeheartedly.

  • We had a great stay in the beautiful Coach House! The house and village look just like a movie set, and are cosy and welcoming. Host Charlotte made many thoughtful finishing touches including recommendations for the local area, and was very prompt and helpful in dealing with queries. Thank you!

  • What a gorgeous place! Super comfortable and cosy for a (very wet!) weekend away. Charlotte was a great host and really responsive. The bottle of prosecco was a really lovely touch too (thank you Charlotte!). A great location with lovely walks. The pub next door does great food too, as does the bakery up the road.
