Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Sagadahoc County

We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful and quiet time of rest at The Rising Tides. The setting is absolutely serene. It’s very secluded and quiet, the perfect place for a week of rest and relaxation. We went hiking on the Cliff Trail (15 minutes away and a very nice hiking trail), watched the sunrise at the Lands End store on Bailey island (15-20 minutes), and kayaked in the cove. The grill was very nice and we enjoyed cooking on it regularly. The place was very clean and ready on our arrival. The host communicated very clearly. You will need to follow her driving directions as they are very clear and helpful. In our four days there we only saw 1 neighbor - and that was as we were leaving on the weekend. There’s a grocery store only 15 minutes away and we were able to stock up on our way there. Really, this was one of our favorite places we’ve ever stayed. We really enjoyed having a few options of things to do while also being able to just do nothing on our vacation in a quiet place.

We can’t say enough good things about this stay. We came for our honeymoon, and were met with flowers and a few other treats from the host as a gift. How sweet! As far as the property, the cottage is perfectly sized for two or three, and is designed delightfully. It is on a shared lot with the family’s primary residence , but feels very comfortable and private. A close by walk to the water as well. Inside, you will find everything you could ever need from pots and pans, spices, towels, and the best recommendations for the area. We’d build our own version of this cottage to take home with us if we could. We hope to one day be back and will always remember our amazing time in Harpswell.

Everything from start to finish was absolutely amazing. The house is beautiful with all the amenities you need. The outside fire pit was nice to sit out and enjoy the nice weather. The communication with Jody was fast and she was very accommodating to our needs. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay

Our stay at Laurel Shore Cottage was just what we needed. The location was serene - and we spent most afternoons and evenings sitting on the porch soaking in the beautiful landscape and scenery. The cottage itself was uncluttered and comfortable and the host was very responsive.

Fantastic stay at Sherri’s place. Fully stocked cottage nestled in the woods overlooking the water. Brand new kitchen and bathroom. Conveniently located to Bowdoin College and downtown Brunswick. We would definitely stay again, I highly recommend Sherri’s place.

If you’re looking for a cozy, peaceful stay overlooking the Kennebec River, this is the place to book. Truly enjoyed our time at the little cottage. It met all our needs and the hosts were friendly and responsive. Highly recommend :)

We had a wonderful weekend in Maine at Bette Ann's. Our host was excellent, made sure everything was perfect, and went above and beyond providing recommendations and meeting our needs. They wanted us to have the best stay possible. The house was cute and cozy with a beautiful view. We loved the layout and it had all the necessary amenities. It was an easy drive to anything you could need or want, plus not too far from Portland. We received great recommendations and advice from the host. I would recommend this place to anyone and wouldn't mind visiting again in the future.

This place has the best of what Maine offers. A ocean view with a pebbled beach on the front side with plenty of rocks and sea glass hunting and a quiet cove on the back that you can explore with the two supplied kayaks. The location is very inviting and the neighbors were friendly and gave us some great insight into the local area. There is plenty to do within an hour of the house from shopping, exploring other beaches or getting a taste of the local cuisine. If you like oysters we would recommend OystHERS in Bath. Our favorite beach was Popham where you can watch the harbor seals play at the mouth of the river. Overall this was a great family getaway and one that made lasting memories.

Lovely, comfortable stay with thoughtful decor and hospitality. Close enough to Portland and outdoor adventures while feeling quiet, peaceful and away from it all.

Great stay! We took a weekend trip up to coastal Maine and this was a great place to stay for a long weekend. Not far from Brunswick, Boothbay, Freeport, Portland — great location!

This apartment was so clean, well decorated, well stocked and very comfortable. The location is perfect. So close to downtown Wiscasset, Boothbay and Freeport. This was our 2nd stay and we will return. Kathleen is a great host!

We had a great time here, beautiful place, well-equipped. Very clean and comfortable, I loved the plants both inside and out. Hot water came up quickly, didn't run out, and the shower was strong. Used the kitchen for breakfasts and some dinners - had a tea kettle, coffee pot, and pans/knives/cutting boards - all the comforts of home. Central location, and the loaner State Park pass was great! One day we visited Portland and Two Lights State Park to the south, another we went to Georgetown and Reid State Park to the north. Walking distance to restaurants in pretty downtown Bath, and the neighborhood was quiet. There's a thorough guest book with recommendations and ideas of things to do, and Erika was quick to respond when I asked for a good place to buy oysters/seafood. Pretty yard, even in Oct some plants blooming. I enjoyed sitting on the deck to read in the sunshine. We hope to come back here to stay, very happy with the experience - comfortable and homey.

Wendy’s place was really nice and the hot tub is very private.. we definitely got our usage out of it… Wendy herself was extremely kind and open minded. She didn’t rush us out come check out, instead, she encouraged us to stay a little longer and enjoy the hot tub before our long journey back home.. she gave us good tips about golden gems only locals know about 🥰 She did have a cool book to share reviews but I didn’t have a pen.. also we left grape soda in the fridge from Canada for the next person to try!! Jennifer's place is so interesting, clean and tastefully decorated! We enjoyed our stay very much and definitely would return there, as many guests do. Be sure to check out the wonderful nearby Salt Water Cod Cafe and the many Maine-made things from Seaside Creations on the road to the Giant Steps on Bailey's Island. Also, the chocolate from Jennifer's candy store up the road is really good. Thank you Jennifer for making this experience possible!
