Kid-friendly holiday rentals in San Carlos

Jason’s place was very peaceful and clean, me and my family had a great time at the pool, the bbq, and all the nature that surrounds the house. Jason is reachable, kind and very responsive. If you want to rest and have a reconnection with your inner self, casa Anajade is a great place to visit.

We had an amazing time. The place is a short drive from La fortuna falls and walkable distance from the river. About 25mins drive to get to Arenal. Easy to find and has parking right out the door. There are plenty of restaurants a short drive away. Camilo was also very kind and gave us great local recommendations and helped us plan to make most of our time. Would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing stay here! The location was easy to find and not too far from the airport. There were definitely lots of local stores and restaurants to visit near by. We recommend Resturante Ross! The views especially early morning were amazing overall we have no complaints. Our favorite part was visiting the farm animals! Oscar was so nice and welcoming.

If I could rate it higher, I would. First off the host is super nice and responsive! Greeted us outside late at night when we checked in to make sure we were comfortable. It is a very private, peaceful, and welcoming place to stay. This is my first time booking an Air BnB in Costa Rica, and I can say this stay is beyond what I could imagine. Aside from some bugs here and there, the house is beautiful, the perfect little place to stay for a little get away. Now going back to how amazing the host is. They were so accommodating and sweet about making sure we had no problems. She also kindly offered a very appreciative helping hand when we really needed help. This type of community and support is something that I have never experienced back in the U.S. I wish the host and this community so much love! Pura Vida!

We loved our stay here! Everything was clean, AC worked well, and we felt very safe. Parked our rented car in front without a problem. Carlos was super friendly and responsive to our questions. Very comfortable, I would definitely recommend.

Jose, his family and friends were more than welcoming to us from the moment we came to the Airbnb! Quick responses and always there to lend us a hand or guide us to anything we may need! Amazing food at a local restaurant, horseback riding on his land with lots of things to see and learn about! His pool at the Airbnb was absolutely amazing! We loved getting to meet his family members and socializing with them! I would highly recommend this Airbnb to everyone in near the La Fortuna area!!! Truly a home away from home with hospitality that is unmatched. We were astounded by the this beautiful Airbnb , immaculate and well stocked including a full washer and dryer which was a godsend. It is evident that Josh and Yer pour in their hearts to make their place an oasis of comfort and kindness. They gave the clearest instructions to access the home with helpful photos. They left us snacks, sodas, and coffee and that was such a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. We felt so welcomed. I wish all Airbnb hosts had their proactive care! They set the bar high! We had a wonderful week-long stay at Monstera House. The home is exactly as described in the listing. The bathroom is so beautiful, the pool was spotless, and the rest of the house was amazingly clean. Sandra cooked us a Costa Rican breakfast every morning, which was such a sweet addition to our stay. We drove about 15 minutes every evening to get to La Fortuna for dinner, and about 30min-1hour for excursions in the morning near La Fortuna. Ubers are very accessible in the area, which we took often to dinner. Sandra was very helpful and responded very quickly. We can’t recommend this Airbnb enough!!

Quaint place in the middle of La Fortuna. Highly recommended.

Great accommodation for excursions near La Fortuna, the hot tub was awesome. You can see different birds from the terrace, we even had the good fortune to see an iguana. Can only recommend it.

We had an amazing stay at this Airbnb — the views were absolutely breathtaking, and waking up to the sound of capuchin monkeys in the mornings was a surreal and unforgettable experience. The space itself was clean, comfortable, and well thought out — everything we needed for a relaxing jungle escape. One thing to note: you’re in the jungle, and that comes with some trade-offs. We did have quite a few bugs find their way inside — at one point, hundreds gathered on a wall. It wasn’t ideal, but honestly not surprising given the location. Also, the walk down to the Airbnb includes a bit of a trek with stairs, so be prepared for a small hike in and out. That said, the peaceful setting, stunning nature, and wildlife made it all 100% worth it. If you’re looking for a real Costa Rican jungle experience with a touch of comfort and great scenery, this place delivers. Would absolutely recommend — just bring bug spray and good shoes!

Our time at Danta Santa was truly amazing ! We loved how private the location felt and how beautiful it was. The pictures looked exactly like the pictures and somehow in person it was more breathtaking! Although it rained a lot during our stay we didn’t mind because the Airbnb was truly our own oasis. We loved that we had the option to have the place fully opened or closed. The space was perfect for a couple trying to get away from a crowded city. We loved that everything was nearby, such as the restaurants and activities. Everything was 20 mins away or less. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, modern and cozy place to stay! We will definitely be retuning and booking Danta Santa.

The place is very quiet, it's close to everything, the place is like the photos, Erick's recommendations for restaurants, services were very good. I will definitely come back to this place.

We stayed for 6 nights and truly enjoyed ourselves. The hosts were quick to respond with any questions. It’s a very peaceful area but still a 5 minute walk to anything you need. The backyard pool was amazing for my kids. There is the Arenal Sanctuary Reserve a short walk past the house, we saw so many frogs and it’s a nice easy walk with breathtaking views. The house itself was clean and comfortable with just enough that you could still cook at home if you needed, we did most days. There are so many sodas and restaurants within walking distance as was the main grocery store. We fell in love with this area and would definitely stay here again.

Found our stay at the apartment comfortable and enjoyable. The place was spotlessly clean. The bedrooms were spacious and the mattresses comfortable as were the sofas in the living space. It was an ideal location for our base for the week, close to town and restaurants, but also perfect as a sanctuary from some spectacular rain and thunderstorms that would roll in. We never really used the kitchen for cooking but it had all the amenities. The shower had good water pressure and hot water if needed. Our hosts were very friendly and responsive to any questions. If we needed it, fresh towels and sheets were available as was a tidy and clean of the garbage and bathroom from the helpful lady who worked there. We stayed for just over a week and would happily return and recommend to others.

This was a great location for exploring La Fortuna. A short walk from everything. Quiet at night.

The place is super centrally located and offers everything you need. There is a parking space right outside the door, and shopping is right around the corner. We were even able to check in very early because our health was not doing so well – that was a great help. The flexible extension of our stay also worked out great. Veronika is a great host and offered us her translation support when we had a medical incident. Thank you for everything!

We had everything we needed and we didn't miss anything. The place is very quiet - secluded from the main road. Some storage space would have been nice but was not disturbing. There was also enough equipment for cooking, even if some things are outdated. All in all, you really can't complain - this is complaining to a high standard.
