We like to stay active. Having many amazing restaurants in a 500 meter radius is perfect. This is a super friendly neighborhood. The hosts are helpful and nearby, but never invasive. We are impressed with the hosts Uriel and Ivanova. Both of them speak English very well. Even had a chance to meet their kids. If you stay here, we highly recommend venturing another 600 meters up the road on a Saturday or Sunday to enjoy the friendly community that gathers around the pool decks at La Ensenada. You want to talk about your hidden gems?You instantly feel like part of the community. Entry is 100 Cords well spent. And the food and drinks are very reasonably priced. We did not find a bad place to eat in Esteli. And we tested all price ranges. Many amazing places are hidden. You might need to do some walking to spot them, however you can always ask Ivanova for some recommendations.

The place is cozy, clean and organized. The view from the terrace day and night is beautiful, the only bad thing is a short stretch of land before you get there, but once you're there you forget about it.

This cottage above Matagalpa is a peaceful gem! Surrounded by lush gardens and birdsong, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. The local host was incredibly kind—welcoming me with fresh coffee, pineapple, watermelon, and papaya—while also respecting my privacy. The space is clean, well-stocked, and great for short or long stays. WiFi worked well, the kitchen had everything I needed, and there’s a safe spot to park your car. You can sit outside with a cup of delicious local coffee and take in the flowers and views. Though it’s not in the city center, it’s just minutes away by car with a stunning view of the city lights at night. It’s also close to great hikes. I felt completely safe and at home—highly recommended!

Jorge’s place made our stay in Esteli. It’s a beautiful little house surrounded by nature. Close enough to Esteli to be convenient but far enough away to be peaceful! La Casita was amazing too. The highlight was Calala - one of the friendliest, happiest dogs we’ve ever met!
