Innis Broc (Badgers' Meadow) is set within 36 acres of Parkland with other log cabins in Dumfries and Galloway and is approximately 500 yards from the unspoilt beach at Sandyhills Bay. The lodge has been furnished to a high standard and is the perfect place for a relaxing weekend or a base to explore the natural beauty of South West Scotland. Innis Broc is good for couples, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). On site is a dog friendly bar and restaurant (4* trip advisor review)
“A clean, well-equipped lodge in an amazing location just a 10 minute stroll (you're on holiday!) from a beautiful sandy beach, there is also an equally stunning loch just up the road and amazing views wherever you look. Pamela provided comprehensive check-in instructions via email and there is a sizeable folder of information in the cabin, there are also plenty of books, board games, DVDs and a selection of (mostly 90s, seriously nostalgic) CDs which were a welcome inclusion given the lack of WiFi and patchy mobile network coverage inside. My partner's phone worked by the front window and mine was fine a few metres from the lodge so this was not a major issue for us, however it's worth bearing in mind if you rely on your phone. The swimming pool was closed but we had a decent meal at the restaurant, there is a supermarket around half an hour's drive away in Castle Douglas (I think Dumfries is around the same distance in the opposite direction) and nearby Dalbeattie has several smaller shops. We received nightly visits from the remarkably bold badgers, the unpolluted skies are also perfect for stargazing once darkness falls. We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Innis Broc to other travellers.”
Backs on to acres of farmland with tidal river. Wildlife friendly environment. Outdoor flushing toilet. Wood burner, cold water sink, electric hob, toaster, kettle, cutlery, crockery. Will need own bedding/sleeping bag. Dog friendly. Double bed, single over bunk, childs bed available.
“If you’re looking for all the best bits of camping but with the security of a roof above your head then you’ve found your home for the night. We had a great time here and made the most of the fire-place on incredibly dreary February nights. Ian gave us a little walk around his land and even offered to take my dog out with him around the land for some exercise. We’ll be staying again when passing through that’s for sure.”
Spacious two bedroom, first floor flat in the centre of Dalbeattie. Fully equipped kitchen including dining table to comfortably seat 4 people. Two large bedrooms (1 Double, 1 Twin). Bathroom with bath and separate walk-in shower. Large living room with recliner sofa and chair, TV with DVD player. Good storage space in the entrance hall for bikes, prams, golf clubs, etc. On street parking or 3 car parks less than a minute walk away. Close to shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways.
“We came to stay for a funeral and so we were just looking for a convenient place to stay which would allow us to attend various events. There were 4 of us, 2 60+ parents and 2 20+ adult offspring. This flat proved to be perfect for our family group. We found it to be spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. It has a perfect location, within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, take outs and pubs. Most of the fittings are new and all are high quality. The central heating was more than adequate to provide us a comfortable space through some pretty cold weather. The owners are superb, very helpful and quick to respond to issues. I recommend this flat highly.”
