Forbes Park is filled with wildflowers in the spring, and has unique access to the SWA public park. It's less than an hour from the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Cuchara Mountain Park. Amazing view of the mountains and stars! Super close to the dunes. Very private and clean campsite. The wind picked up and made it tricky as the landscape has no trees for additional anchoring, so be sure to bring proper camping supplies. We found the heavy cloth tarps worked best for blocking wind/dirt. The kids loved the dirt and star gazing! Definitely will stay here again!

We were given directions to the place and found that Apple Maps took is right to the location. It appears google maps is not the best in giving directions and Damien makes that clear and. gives detailed instructions to get to the cabin. We found the place awesome for anyone looking for peace and quiet and stunning beauty of the property and the cabin. We were made aware that water is hauled there and we were given ample water for our stay. It has solar system as well as a generator for electricity. So when we had a beautiful snow storm that covered the solar panels we had some issues that were quickly resolved. Don't forget to conserve electricity but if you drain the solar batteries you can start the generator to get the lights on. Damien was an amazing host, gave clear instructions and if you want to get away from everything this is the place! We have found the place we hope to return to soon to enjoy the splendors of nature and the cabin again. Hopefully soon!

This place was the perfect getaway sanctuary from the big city hustle and bustle for a quiet weekend trip in the beautiful mountain scenery. The condo is well-appointed, matches the description, and just steps away from the trails of San Isabel National Forest, which was so serene to walk through with my spouse and furbaby. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy getaway! Hosts were super responsive, informative and easy to deal with as well to reduce the travel angst. :-)

We came at the beginning of October and WOW the place is beautiful this time of year. The Condo is situated in the middle of Aspen trees on an old ski resort. You can hike around the place and the people Mercantile store are awesome and have delicious, quick bites to eat. We love Cuchara/Le Veta area and this place was perfect, we will be back!

It cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything that you could ever need. This cabin will be our first choice when visiting the area in the future. We will definitely be back.

The A frame was fantastic. As other reviewers said, it’s a bit of an uphill walk. If you let the hosts know when you arrive, they show up with a 4 Wheeler to get your gear up. We were able to lug up our stuff with a wagon - I had a full sized cooler and they was a challenge with the terrain. Other than that, it was amazing. Super quiet. Nice views. Incredibly clean space with all the grill tools and flatware you need. The fireplace and nice chairs were perfect for evening time. Quick 15 min drive to lake Trinidad for kayaking. Would definitely stay here again, and plan on doing so!
