Great accommodation with even greater hosts: The accommodation is a little off the beaten path of Machico's usual tourist hotspots, making it a quiet location that offers an authentic view of the "real Madeira" and its people. Despite the quiet location, a bus station (from which you can travel cheaply) as well as restaurants and supermarkets are easily accessible on foot. In combination with the fully equipped kitchen, the fish counters in particular offer a great opportunity to experience the unique flavors of Madeira, even with a small budget. We enjoyed this with a mountain view on the balcony. The hosts were also simply great and made any travel guide obsolete with valuable tips and the provision of local contacts. The well-equipped kitchen, existing washing machine and above all the extremely comfortable bed make this apartment an insider tip, especially for longer stays! 100% recommended!

Accommodation completely in line with the description, peaceful and well-equipped/decorated. Easy access to supermarkets and the city center, very friendly. Joao and Tania were a great help in parking. I would highly recommend it!

We had three wonderful days at Blue Whale House. We arrived by car, which we returned immediately on arrival as we wanted to spend our last few days without one. The street is very busy and narrow, even parking for an hour was a bit more complicated directly at the house. The location is very good, even without a car there are great hiking opportunities and there is a bus line from the eastern tip (PR8) via the airport to Funchal. The apartment was very clean, we felt very comfortable and enjoyed spending the evenings there, we would definitely recommend it!

We stayed here for 9 nights as a couple and were absolutely thrilled. Communication was excellent, even before the booking – friendly, smooth, and very helpful, which gave us a great feeling right from the start. The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished with high-quality amenities – nothing was missing. A real highlight were the balconies and the stunning rooftop terrace – perfect for relaxing! We were also able to use the parking space after arranging it in advance, which was very convenient. Grocery stores and great restaurants are within walking distance – the location is ideal. We felt completely at home and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!

We were welcomed immediately very friendly by Connie, who gave us great tips for the restaurants in the neighborhood and some fresh vegetables from the garden. Connie and Johnny are always available for any questions, yet you have total privacy. The view is amazing, day and night. All furniture is from the highest quality, fully equipped kitchen, a perfect bed and an awesome bath. Worth every cent, just book it and you will have a dream vacation!

We loved our stay at Marta’s place! It was so charming, clean and comfortable. The view was absolutely magical. We saw so many rainbows. The mountain view was so peaceful and calming. Marta’ s place was pristine, comfortable and well stocked. We highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Sao Vicente. A perfect stay. Marta was very responsive, welcoming and friendly.

One of the best Airbnbs we've ever stayed at! We absolutely loved our stay. This apartment is a dream – incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated with so much love and fully equipped with everything you need. The ocean view is breathtaking, and the location is wonderfully peaceful. Filip and his family live above, but you still have complete privacy with your own entrance. Filip is such a kind and helpful host – we received great tips about the area. His wife Renata surprised us with the most delicious cinnamon rolls we’ve ever tasted! The neighbor was also incredibly friendly and gifted us fresh bananas from his own garden. Renata and Filip went above and beyond to make our stay special – they even provided gifts and baby food for our little one. It’s clear that they put a lot of thought into making their guests feel welcome and comfortable. We can definitely recommend this place. If you have the chance to stay here, don’t hesitate – it’s a true gem!

This is a fantastic apartment home. The place looks like in the pictures, with 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Very large kitchen with all appliances and a peaceful backyard with morning sunshine. A very peaceful place near the top of a mountain with easy access to beautiful hiking places just a short drive away. The home is in FAIAL which is the best area for hiking and lookouts places. Also the best value in all Madeira. This area is the best for nature lovers and away from the more expensive places in Funchal. I’m definitely returning in the future. By the way, Marco is a great host, very proactive, with a lot of suggestions on places to go.

The villa was beautiful - stunning location - and perfectly furnished. Lovely walk to Ponta do Sol village but the walk back is not for the faint hearted - Bolt is available :-) Whilst there were a few teething issues on arrival, Rita was super responsive and helpful in sorting any problems and our stay was great. It was a lovely stay in a stunning villa with amazing views and we would love to come back.

We just finished 2 magical days at Patricia’s home and cannot say enough incredible things of her place. The house itself is BEAUTIFUL, with an amazing pool and jaw dropping views. In addition to this she was so accommodating to us and made sure we were comfortable the entire time!!! Uber’s and Bolt’s are easy to call and extremely affordable. We did not want to leave and are already planning our next trip to her home!!

If you’re looking for a quiet coastal cottage in Madeira this place is perfect. The view is beautiful with restaurants right around the corner. You’re steps away from the beach and beautiful hiking trails. The house is small but well kept and was very comfortable for two guests

The accommodation is in a great location in the north of Madeira. It is a very quiet location, as described next to the church tower that rings loudly at every hour, but at 10 pm the last time and in the morning at 8 am to wake up. Otherwise, the pictures in the listing are more than meaningful and absolutely consistent. Parking is no problem at all, but the location of the place is a basic requirement for a rental car. Manny is one of the best landlords I've ever experienced. He waits at the apartment on arrival, welcomes you, shows you everything in a calm manner and gives many tips for the area, be it cultural or food. He is always available, absolutely friendly and talking and chatting with him is a great pleasure. All in all, we liked it very much here so that we will definitely come back. If you are looking for a quiet apartment in beautiful surroundings with great views, you will find it here. Thank you Manny

Overall 10/10. Nice place, everything as described and one of the best places we rented.

Would stay here again and again. It’s an old style layout with beds and bath on a seperate floor, and one bedroom is captive. However the positives were extremely strong. The systems are top notch: Plumbing, heating/cooling, water pressure, WiFi, TV, outlet availability, and good work spaces…were all excellent, which rarely happens. I can see why this is a traveler favorite. The beds would barely fit four people. They are smaller than the American “queen” and more like a dbl/full. However the matress and pillows were comfortable. The whole house is warm and inviting.

We have nothing but good words for Luis and his accommodation. First, Luis is a caring host who responded quickly to our requests and provided us with excellent recommendations. The accommodation is beautiful, we had everything we needed. The bed is super comfortable. We had a car and the location of the accommodation was perfect for visiting all corners of the island.

We had a great time in this apartment! It is comfortable, well-equipped, very clean and offers a very nice view, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. The location is ideal, especially for the end of a stay, as it is close to the airport. We can actually hear the planes passing by, but it didn't bother us at all: there are no flights at night, so the nights are quiet. The welcome was warm and the communication with the host perfect. We recommend it without hesitation!

Wonderful apartment right on the ocean. The apartment was very spacious and has everything you need. Also has easy parking just outside. An extra bonus is all the great restaurants nearby!

Accommodation as described, well-equipped and very well located to discover Funchal. Super convenient garage for parking a vehicle. Carla is very responsive, very friendly and gives good advice. I would recommend it!

Great location and views. Plane and street noise did not disturb us as we kept bedroom windows closed. Everything you need to cook. WiFi can be a little spotty. I would stay there again.

Gorgeous spacious apartment walkable to everything in downtown Funchal - restaurants, shopping the water, musicians in the restaurant area were so fun! (Not near the house). All of Funchal seems to have some construction especially behind this building but I suspect u can’t escape that anywhere in Funchal. Otherwise it was a fantastic apartment and would definitely rent there again. Hosts were wonderful

This condo was beautiful, clean, and had an amazing view. Plenty of seating, close to a grocery store and many restaurants. The infinity pool which looked over the ocean was lovely. We would definitely recommend.
