Cute clean house. Comfy beds and a clean hot tub. Enjoyed the deer walking around outside. Whitney was extremely nice and responsive. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here as a single female and felt safe the entire time. The hot tub was the absolute best. I'm already looking forward to my next stay.

Beautiful setting with large lawn and river. The home is spacious ,clutter free and comfortable. Peaceful setting but just a 10-15 drive to Luray and 20 min to Shenandoah park entrance. It has a remote feeling but it is a convenient base to visit the caverns, hiking Shenandoah, or grabbing a bite in Luray. We had temps in low 70's with no humidity so we also enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the river. Follow host instructions about downloading maps offline the GPS was reliable, but once we figured it out it is really quite simple.

Another great stay. The house is beautifully decorated, the hot tub is clean and clear, and the location is peaceful. We spent a lot of time at the Winchester Historic Walking Mall, and discovered the Shenandoah Valley Children’s museum where my 20 month old had a blast.

My husband and I had a great stay here with our dog. The house was beautiful and very clean and our dog loved the fenced in yard. Dolly had so many recommendations for local restaurants, breweries/wineries, and things to do. You can definitely hear the train going by but it really didn’t bother us at all it’s not loud enough to distract from a conversation or wake you up. Overall we loved staying here and would gladly stay here again if back in the area!

we loved the forethought they had for the needs of their guests. and a lot of times it was the 'little things' that had the greatest impact...the 'unnecessary' touches which made things so comfortable (ample hooks/cubbies/drawers, hot tub towels, plug-in nightlight/flashlights in every room, binoculars, great games, and more!). probably the best part of the experience was knowing they trusted & respected you as guests. there was almost a case of toilet paper & paper towels in the pantry, a full bottle of laundry detergent, tub of dishwasher pods, full pack of sponges, full bottles (NOT attached to a wall!) of shampoo/conditioner/body wash, etc. - and they weren't afraid you were going to take it all home w you! there was NO angst. just a wonderful experience. our final favorite part is that we were able to purchase the great "mountain mama" coffee mugs we enjoyed using during our stay. a great souvenir to have for such a memorable trip...

Amazing, immaculate property, peaceful setting, thoughtful hosts! The mountain cottage exceeded our expectations. The home looks exactly like the photos and has all of the amenities. No surprises, no builders grade junky stuff - granite countertops, new appliances, upgraded cabinetry with soft close drawers, large tiled shower with built in bench seat, lighted closets, working blinds, no step access into and through out the home. You walk in to find a welcome basket of water and snacks with a card from hosts. There are books for appliances if needed and a book that provides needed information and options for dining and recreation. Feels private! We had beautiful bird song in the mornings, saw a deer at the end of the driveway and many deer on the roads to the cottage. There is a fishing pond within a half mile and the North fork of the Shenandoah is close by. We enjoyed the peace, nature, cruising Skyline Drive and time with our family. The stay was beautiful and private! After staying in the suburbs and city for a while, this was a good change of pace. We enjoyed staying in the peaceful home. We will definitely come back again!!

This amazingly cozy farmhouse was just the vibe we were looking for. Beautiful outdoor seating (screened-in porch, deck overlooking the vineyards, and lounge chair by the pool) made it easy to breathe in the fresh air. Beds were comfortable and water pressure was great! The outside deck with Solostove was perfect for the chilly evenings. We enjoyed light snacks and wine at Muse Vineyards, which was lovely and got to meet Sally! We ventured into town for some local eats. Can’t say enough good things about Woodstock Cafe’s breakfast. We enjoyed a sweet treat at Sugar Creek and had a lovely walk down the street at Seven Bends. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, look no further!

Our favorite pet-friendly place to stay when we visit Charlottesville! Great setting and convenient to nature and our favorite places to visit.

Absolutely loved my stay and truly think the location gave me a better feel for the city. I loved walking around the corner for breakfast at Oakhurst (open at 7am!) and bringing our golden retriever made it feel like home. They have considered everything- lots of extra supplies and all the things you need. Comfortable bed, great A/C, beautiful yard. Adorable and will be back!

Cozy, adorable little cottage close to downtown! It has everything you need for a short or long stay, and plenty of room for a doggo. Amazing shower and cozy bed! Only ‘complaint,’ which is not even one, is that it got chilly inside at night and the heater was a bit difficult to use to raise the heat. Overall a wonderful weekend stay!

Everything about the stay was great! Susan was a great host with an impeccable house. You can tell she cares about her guest, their experience and what needs they might want or encounter. The coffee and cream being available was a huge perk! The s’mores kit (wish we could have used it) was a nice touch and the chocolate in the mug. That was just in the kitchen… the bathrooms had other things available if needed. Couldn’t find a spec of dirt, dust or stray hair. Susan’s eye to detail and cleanliness showed! Would recommend this house to anyone and stay here again myself if in the area.

We have stayed at this home many times because- a.) They have a fenced-in backyard so it is nice to be able to let out our dogs without worrying about them running away and b.) we love hiking at Lost River State Park which is just a short 12 minute ride to from the house, and c. It is a beautiful quaint home- very peaceful and has all the amenities we need.

Thank you Cierra for opening your property to my family and I! We had such amazing time. Even with the rain, staying on the property was so peaceful and beautiful. A great area to relax in and to spend time with your loved ones.

This was a perfect place for a peaceful getaway. The fireplace was a treat, and we had a very cozy stay. It's hard to add to what other reviewers have already said, but here is one detail: on a winter's night, when the moon is down and the sky is clear, the stars are fantastic! Because there is no nearby light pollution, the view from the deck of the night sky is deep and brilliant.

This home was beautifully maintained, with really livable layout, warm and colorful decor, comfie furnishings and bed, warm blanket for porch sitting, sweet little table with mountain view off the bedroom. Lovely kitchen. Meditation/reading/yoga area, wonderful wide selection of books. Windows everywhere, three outside sitting areas, lots of natural light AND bright lights to read by. Coffee provided:). Big bathroom and shower. Really couldn't be better. Incredibly quiet at night. Loved the sweet cows in the pasture. Thank you Jim for being so welcoming!

We really enjoyed our stay! It was clean and beautifully decorated. Kitchen amenities made it easy to feel at home. It feels private and quiet but with plenty of places to wine and dine close by. The host recommendation list was fabulous!

We absolutely loved our stay at the cozy cottage! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a sweet personal note that made us feel right at home. The location is stunning, and we wish we could have explored the trails, but the weather and our other commitments kept us busy. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy everything this beautiful place has to offer!

This house is downright wonderful. Everything is beautiful, clean and cozy. It is all just as it should be. The host was perfect: accommodating, thoughtful, and friendly. The surroundings sublime, with peace oozing out of every square inch of the house and property. There is a creek behind the house that is the icing on the cake. Wow.

Linda’s place was cozy, comfortable and quiet. I felt comfortable my entire stay. Linda is kind, generous and interesting. Her attention to detail makes for an enjoyable experience. Oh yes, and her artwork gives her place extra charm, it’s beautiful!

This is our second time staying at Tranquil cottage. It's a beautiful, clean, and comfortable place to stay close to Charlottesville and feels like home. We love the peaceful atmosphere and all the animal friends. And Cynthia is a great host. We'll definitely be back again.

This is our 3rd visit to the River Run Cottage! We feel right at home here-can't say enough about the location and the ambiance. We're already booked for next year!
