Cabin holiday rentals in Silver Bay

Beautiful location, quiet can see so many stars at night. We went in the Spring as we wanted to visit state parks in northern Wisconsin. Couldn’t have asked for a better place.

We came up for a small celebratory getaway after a small wedding ceremony held at our home in St. Cloud area. We appreciated that it was very dog friendly and also so close to Duluth. We were a bit unlucky with the weather as it turned pretty cold, windy and rainy, but were still able to use the hot tub intermittently and especially enjoyed the fireplace inside. There are also have really cute string lights setup overhead. It is a very cozy space. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, anything that was unsatisfactory was really just down to the weather which was not anyone's fault! Thanks, Chantel.

Beautiful place with great host. The best part was the evening sky over the lake. It’s definitely a gem.

Hannah’s place was gorgeous, comfortable, functional and clean. The location was amazing for nature lovers although we were just as happy relaxing at the house! I definitely plan to return in the future because we had such a great experience.

It’s a gorgeous and spacious house, with many amenities and a nice scenery for a great price (especially when splitting with others). Very secluded, clean and comfortable, 100% recommend booking for large groups!

We had an awesome time. Beautiful views everywhere. Perfect for us and our family with grandkids. Swimming, jacuzzi, boat dock, a.c. and comforts, kayaks and floats for kids was super nice!!! Loved the outside deck for grilling and eating and relaxing. This place is well equipped. Great job Chad and crew! Kitchen was so well stocked that we didn't need to bring half as much as we did for spices and kitchen amenities. We loved our time and was sad it was over so soon. Close to town made it really nice. Added awesomeness was that we also had great weather! Garage was really convenient to reload and pack our boat on last day when raining. Can't think of a thing we didn't love.

We loved our stay at Kitchigami Lodge! There were nice touches like the bowl of goodies and cold waters in the fridge when we arrived. The home was immaculate and looked just like the photos, including the incredible view of the lake. It was so peaceful and quiet, which my family was especially looking for this year. We all loved spending time in the sunroom with its beautiful views, the kids enjoyed the large hot tub, and the private beach was amazing. But we were close enough to Duluth and some state parks to easily get out and do other things if we felt like it. We would definitely stay here again.

David gave us excellent directions which was very helpful as his cabin is secluded in the woods at the end of Six Mile Lake. When we arrived and saw the outside of the old log cabin, the large fire pit and view of the lake we were thrilled. It is just lovely. Once inside we again were very happy to see the authenticity of the place. The kitchen is so fun with its retro appliances. The living room had a comfortable sofa and two old chairs. On the wall next to the stairs that went to the loft were two bunk beds. The loft was extremely roomy with a comfortable queen bed (just a little firm), dressers and a large chair with ottoman. The bathroom on the lower level had the old claw and foot tub with a nice shower head. This place is loaded with whatever you would need although you may have to do a little searching. The only concern was that our small dog could fall through the loft stairs as there are no risers so just be careful there. Beautiful dock with five canoes!

This is a wonderful off grid get away. We did a winter trip and pulled sleds with skis. Brought in water, coffee, and food. Made fires in the stoves for heat, and had a couple great saunas with cold plunges in the lake. Everything required work which is what my group was looking for. Wood to split, fires to feed, and lanterns to see at night. Close enough to ski back to the car and head to Ely anytime we wanted. Would recommend for unplugging from the busy world. Still had cell service if needed, but we stayed on airplane mode for the most part.

Brian’s place is very clean and nice. Brian was easy to get a hold of and quick to respond. Overall, we had a great time and I hope to stay again.

We had a wonderful stay! The location is perfect—just a short drive to Grand Marais, but far enough out to really feel like you're up north. It was peaceful and scenic, a great little getaway. We also really appreciated that it's pet-friendly. Just a heads-up for anyone with a large dog: the stairs are quite steep, so keep that in mind. Overall, a cozy and relaxing spot!

Super cozy and fun spot just a few minutes from downtown grand marais! We had a great time staying at this Airbnb while hiking some segments of the superior hiking trail. The space was cozy and we loved the fire, the comfy beds, and the chickens. We would definitely stay again!

We had a very fun time and Keith and Sara were helpful when we had any questions. The area is beautiful and canoeing on the lake is a must!

My husband and son had such a great time. This cabin is full of charm and they are already talking about "the next time!"

I will absolutely be returning. If anything the photographs and descriptions don't do this this slice of paradise justice. I found it beyond my expectations. You'll quickly realize that you're simultaneously surrounded by all the modern conveniences and pristine nature. You absolutely must check out the National Park and beachfront just minutes away, the sunsets are remarkable on the lake. I spent my time mostly Hiking and lounging with my dog. I recommend turning off your phone and spending some time outside watching the turtles and listening to the birds, the wind and if you're, lucky at night the frogs. Via phone and text Kristin was very helpful, she made several good recommendations based on my Bio and booking information that I truly found helpful. Beyond that I found her to be quite kind and welcoming. All in all I found my stay restorative. Would recommend.

Gorgeous cabin in a great spot!

The level of detail Cory has placed in his home from the cleanliness and decor, to the subtle finishes and hi-tech devices made the home a real joy to stay in. Everything was meticulously thought out, organized, and considered to include YouTube videos explaining the attributes of the home. The treehouse was an adventure on its own with its own story and focus on the 5 acre property nestled between the home and outdoor fire scape. It was a lot of fun watching and reading how Cory and his family and friends designed and built the treehouse, and our kids truly enjoyed it. Finally, it was a perfect location sharing trees with Jay Cook State Park. Also, it is less than 20 minutes from Duluth. It was a perfect launch point as we explored the northern Wisconsin and Minnesota. Our three days wasn’t enough time!

Chelsea and Joel (and the owner, Mike) were great! We had a wonderful stay and appreciated the local recommendations the hosts offered. Mike was also incredibly helpful upon our arrival. He was happy to share exactly where everything was and what to do if we had any questions. The cabin and outhouse were very clean (and smell-free!), and we encountered no issues whatsoever. I would note, though, like others have, that this space is not necessarily “semi off grid.” The owner lives on the same property and another rented space is located there as well. We appreciated being close to help if the need arose, however. All in all, this cabin was exactly what we were looking for in a quiet space to stay during our hiking trip!

This was my second time coming to this place. It's a perfect gateway, just a two-hour drive from Duluth. I needed some peaceful nights, and this is a perfect place where you can disconnect from all distractions and find some peace. I love this place and will be visiting more often.

Beautiful views and accessibility to the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the place and would definitely stay again. Host was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Kim and John’s cabin is cozy and private. After my first night there, I was in love with it! The weather was a bit chilly, but a fire in the wood stove made the cabin toasty warm, and in the mornings it was still quite comfortable indoors. Mornings were perfectly quiet, save for the many birds chirping all around me. My Merlin app is full of bird recordings now. While I was not thrilled about using an outhouse, I have to say it’s the cleanest little outhouse ever, well worth the short tramp through the woods. I would gladly have stayed longer, and hope to be able to stay in the cabin again someday.
