Holiday rentals in Sougia

This is a real gem of a place to stay. A few kilometres outside Sougia in a beautifully quiet and peaceful spot on the hill surrounded by olive trees. The Eco House is very special. It has a kind of scandi aesthetic; everything is very beautiful down to the last detail. We wished we had such beautiful plates and bowls and lamps at home! It is also a very comfortable place to stay with everything you might possibly need and was exceptionally clean. The beds were very comfy and the bed sheets smelt gorgeous! However, the most special thing about this place is Corinne. One of the warmest, loveliest people you are likely to meet. She has obviously poured her heart into the Eco House and you can feel it. Corinne was incredibly welcoming and also gave us invaluable advice about what to do locally and how best to do it. THANK-YOU CORINNE. We will definitely be back!

Simply put, Georgoshouse is a little slice of heaven on earth! There is nothing pretentious to be found here. This is a family-run home with rooms to rent and a nice little taverna. The owners and staff are very kind and welcoming. And the pet-friendly environment is something I really appreciate. A sweet little seaside oasis, you can come here to escape the bustling crowds of the more touristy areas of Crete. The drive there is visually stunning and the heights a little dizzying. It is a bit scary if you have fear of heights, as the road is narrow without shoulders or guardrails. However, another option is to park in Hora Sfakion and take a water taxi over instead. That's what I'll do next time!

This place is perfect for people looking for the country Crete experience, while only 30minutes from closely towns. Quiet and comfy, with everything you could want for a restful holiday. All the spaces are awesome. Inside and out. Everything is immaculately cared for. Manya is an exceptional host. Meeting us and then sitting with us for Raki and snacks when we arrived. She showed us how everything worked and had 40 oranges from her own trees, along with a basket of other fruits for us. She also left us alone and we enjoyed many days of peace and quiet laying by the pool and soaking in the sun. The kitchen and all appliances worked great. Beds were comfy and the WiFi was excellent. She truly thinks of everything and more. The nearby towns of Sougia and Paleochora are both nice. Paleochora is bigger, but both have great places to eat and very friendly people. Not a single bad thing to say about this place.

Loukia and Nikos, the owners of the house, were perfect hosts: welcome in person, very kind, effective communication during the stay, recommendation of restaurants and beaches, and kitchen side many small touches to welcome us. They even offered to provide games for our son who was traveling with us. The agency that manages the house was also very responsive to each of our requests and helped us with the rental of our car. The house, the outside and the view are beautiful! We highly recommend this rental (and its owners)!

Book this! Amalen Suites (only 5 for the entire property) is in the perfect spot! Close to everything but at night quiet and extremely secure! My favorite part of my stay was the staff that ran Amalen! Thank you so much Maria, Jakob, Tolis, and Josie!!! Everyone was so so so kind and gave amazing recommendations for my stay. The breakfast served every morning was phenomenal as well!!! Oh and! My all time favorite products are used at this location (Olive Era) so I was able to buy some bottles to take home too. And because I was traveling alone they checked in with me everyday and made sure I was safe during my stay which means a lot! I truly had an amazing time at this hotel and highly highly HIGHLY RECOMMEND for couples that are traveling through Crete. The city in which Amalen is located is large and can be tough to find parking all of the time so I also did love that this was close to many restaurants, shops, IG worthy cute alleys and a 2 minute walk to the ocean. Even though the apartment offers only a basic standard, it had everything we needed for our 5-night-stay. The location close to the beach and various hiking trails was ideal for us. The apartment itself was very well maintained and super clean. They offered daily housekeeping - we didn't expect that. The owner Markos made us feel really comfortable throughout our stay and was always there to help. Communication was always prompt and very cordial. We were treated to a complimentary sundowner on the terrace. They also offer an inexpensive breakfast buffet. Since we are vegans we didn't make use of it, but we could see that many of the guests had their breakfast on the terrace. It looked really good. Even though there is accommodation closer to the beach in Sougia, we can definitely recommend a stay with Markos and his team!

Great accommodation with spectacular views - communication, check in, stay were super easy! Around it, there are some people who can look out over the outdoor area, which did not bother us because of the few people who were there at the time. The accommodation is surrounded by a great landscape, the E4 passes directly by the house. However, the routes to the hiking areas such as the White Mountain Reserve or the highest mountain of Crete are not less than 2 hours by car. We felt super comfortable overall and would come back :)
