Castle Cottage with views of Kielder Castle

LaurenRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Beautiful cottage with so much style and character. Been well thought out for your every need. We have not one single negative thing to say about the place. Beds so comfy and pillows (usually my nemesis when away from home) were perfection. Location is lovely and right opposite one of the areas main historical attractions. You will literally just need to bring yourselves and your comfy clothes. Be sure to stop on the way in for food from a surrounding village (Bellingham or Newcastleton depending on which way you are coming in) as there isn’t much in the area other than a very small garage. There are a few restaurants within driving distance but after a days walking, coming back and cooking a nice cosy meal is just what the place is perfect for. The garden is charming, beautiful and well looked after, the birds stunning and we were lucky enough to see a red squirrel! Kath and Ken are brilliant hosts and make you feel very well looked after. Can’t recommend this place enough! X

Courtyard House

JulieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a fantastic stay at Courtyard House. Beautiful setting, lovely very large garden and lots of space for everyone! The house is great and the photos do not do it justice, having en suites in every bedroom and a downstairs bathroom was really good. Lots of information on places to visit locally and great small touches which made it feel very special. We will be back!

Romantic cottage with stunning Views

LauraRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Lovely place to stay. Absolutely loved the view from the conservatory and the garden was gorgeous. The kitchen is clearly a cooks kitchen - very well equipped! Location is great. Felt like we were in the middle of nowhere but we were only 10-15 minutes from anything we needed. About 12 minutes from Eskbank Station and then a 20 minute train ride from Waverley.

Scottish Borders' private estate

CliffordRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Samantha was friendly and helpful but never intrusive. The Garden Flat at Woll House is spacious with great views from the grassed area and the bedroom. The bed was exceptionally comfortable; the sitting room had two comfortable settees. We did not use the log fire (for which logs were provided) because the radiators warmed the rooms despite the high ceilings. The flat was equipped with a modern LG Smart TV with the usual range of apps running from the BT broadband router, other than on our last day when internet connections appeared to go down over much of the area; we went to the Cross Keys pub in Ettrickbridge where the router was flashing red, so not a problem restricted to Woll House: just a feature of a remote area. The portable TV aerial (a flat black square) came to the rescue when lodged against the window. The kitchen appliances worked well. There is a lockable store for bikes; Samantha agreed to keeping my immaculate road bike in the corridor inside the flat.
