Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Southern Shores

This was a fabulous find at the right price in Duck, close to town and an easy drive to Corolla. The house is basic and comfortable. Cheri responded quickly, and was very easy to work with.

We enjoyed our stayed and the location. The house was very cozy and clean. The pool and hot tub was an added bonus. Gia responded very quickly to all my questions.

We had a wonderful stay here!! The house was lovely, the location was excellent, and it was in close proximity to stores, restaurants, etc.! We especially enjoyed the easy walk to the beach and all of the thoughtful "extras" that were provided (beach cart, chairs, umbrella, beach towels, and more). The outdoor shower and hot tub were nice additions as well. I'd highly recommend staying here!

This home perfectly suited our family for a special mothers day vacation. The spacious layout, especially having 3 bathrooms for each room and having all of the children’s items and activities made for a particularly delightful stay. We really loved the natural feel of the home, the personality of the space, and all of the wood and furniture was great . This home was very clean and well cared for. Love the location as well as we were able to use a golf cart to go to town and walk easily to the beach! Our host was very informative and helpful. Can’t wait to return!

This was our second year at Serene Retreat. It’s just such a wonderful place for young children to enjoy the beach. The fenced in yard is great for their outdoor play. We enjoy cooking in the fabulous kitchen and feasting at the table with a view. Better than any restaurant around! Thank you again.

What a beautiful house with great access to the beach! The recent renovations combined with a private pool really give this place an upscale feel. The beds are very comfortable and the common spaces are so cozy for relaxing, the kitchen is well equipped as well. There was an issue with the microwave on our first night, but Brittany was supper responsive and had a new one delivered to us the very next morning. This house will definitely be at the top of our list when we plan our next visit to the OBX.

Ariana was so helpful and responsive from the start when booking the reservation. The location was great! It was far away enough from the main road, but also very close to the beach/public access parking. The house and yard were very spacious…the pups were super grateful! The house had so many accommodations from the hot tub and pool table/table games to the dog crate and beach supplies. We will definitely consider returning for another visit :)

We loved that we were able to walk to the beach and to the bay. Also loved the beach parking pass to give us the option to drive to the beach. We used the beach chairs, boogie boards and bicycles and all of them were fantastic! Very comfortable house, felt right at home there. Perfect house for a family to use. Also very helpful that Target, Publix and tons of restaurants were very close.

Pat’s Place was perfect for our family. We brought two sets of teenagers with us. Everyone had their space and enjoyed all amenities including the pool, the pool table, walk to the beach, coffee shop, ice cream, and Steamers restaurant. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect and relaxing spot. Thanks Anna for your recommendations and quick response every time we had a question! We can’t wait to come back next time we visit OBX!

The house is just as listed. Great location and all the amenities that you need. A little cold for the pool but enjoyed the top floor kitchen and living area. Decks made the mornings a great start. A very peaceful location and would book again without any hesitation.

We loved our time at A Stones Throw - perfect location across from a beautiful beach access, we loved all the outdoor decks and porches, comfortable furniture on each level, and beds were comfy. Huge table in living space for family dinner and games. We enjoyed the pool one day and the hot tub and also roasted marshmallows at the fire pit. It was a a really nice visit.

We went as a group of 5 families. The place was excellent and Dan was very responsive and took care of every little thing we requested for. Plethora of good local food joints and major OBX spots just a drive away. Highly recommend this property. Especially thanks to Dan and for owners of the house for the goodie bags 😀

Absolutely great stay !! Everything was exactly as stated, we were even able to check in early. Matt is an outstanding host, and I'm sure would be easy to contact if a problem were to arise, as he answered all the questions I had prior to our arrival in an extremely timely manner. 5 star A + thanks again for a great stay in your truly unique tree house.

It was enjoyable to be able to have friends stay with us and have room for everyone. The backyard is amazing and the kids enjoyed the pool. The hot tub was great for the adults to hangout and relax.

The house and neighborhood are very nice, clean, and modern! Paulo was extremely helpful and quickly responsive in addressing any issues or questions. We loved our stay!

Cute and quaint, great kitchen. It was just as picture. Easy access and private. Publix nearby that was a plus!

This is the second year we’ve stayed at the house in the winter and it was just as fantastic as we remembered it. It’s seriously one of the most boujee and beautiful beach houses. You feel right at home, everything’s clean, and you have every kitchen appliance you’d ever need. The hot tub is especially nice - it’s so dark at night in Duck you can see every star while you lay in the warm water. Several times we talked from the house into Duck which was easy, and it’s right across the street to visit the actual beach. Internet speeds are 25mbps for the remote workers. While we were there the new fiber company was laying conduit, so hopefully they’ll get an upgrade soon. Not a single complaint I could make. The hosts are fantastic. Answer every phone call. They stopped by with a gift for being ok with a single construction bag in the driveway for the pool. They’re awesome, it looked perfectly fine but they went out of their way anyway. Book it!

Lovely host and home. Home is exactly as pictured, spacious and in close proximity to activities. Enjoyed our time there.

Jo and Michael were amazing hosts! We got a flat tire on our way down and they were so sweet to make sure that we had snacks and breakfast and the lights on when we arrived. Everything was clean and their home was beautiful! We will definitely be returning again and will recommend to our friends.

This is such a cozy, charming place to stay! The home is absolutely lovely. If you’re looking for perfection, move along. It is full of character and nooks and crannies and it was the best 💗 Our three little ones (6 and under) had the best time staying in the little loft together and we could hear them giggling into the night. The kitchen was the perfect size and even had fresh flowers sitting in the window ledge. Every detail was carefully thought out and our stay here was wonderful. Being so close to the beach was ideal and their restaurant recommendations were great! Ginger was so responsive and helpful and it was so lovely to be hosted by her! (Check for her beautiful artwork displayed above the couch.) We couldn’t recommend this place more and were so happy we got to stay here!

Very thankful off of a spontaneous trip to the beach to be welcomed and taken care of. Very at ease with check in and able to do your own thing without feeling like intruding. Great location, solid time, thank you guys

John and Michele were wonderful host. We had a great time. It was an adventure getting around. Something everyone should try. The little house was very clean. Which is a big plus for me. They live next door and we saw them most days. Very very helpful with anything you ask or need. We would definitely go back.

We loved our stay! Perfect location a super quick walking distance away from the beach and short drive to everything on the main stretch in Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills. We appreciated the beach wagon and all the beach supplies so it was one less thing for us to bring from home. Loved catching sunrises from the top deck and our kids especially enjoyed the spinning chairs in the living room. Would definitely recommend!
