Klosterseter by Klostervannet.

KeesRating, 5 stars34 months ago
For those who enjoy enjoying nature undisturbed and/or swimming, this is the perfect location. Except a single resident on the other side of the lake Klostervannet, you won't see anyone here. I felt like I was out of the inhabited world. Erik and his wife have decorated the cabin very personally, I suspect they stay there often myself. There is a good stove with oven (bring your own an oven dish) a nice fireplace, a barbecue, several places outside to sit and a jetty and a rowboat by the lake. There are games for the children and they can also enjoy themselves with treasure hunts, climbing trees, running etc. If they have a bike with them, they can cycle miles back and forth here without danger. There is gas (the fridge also runs on it) but no running water and electricity. Erik had 50 liters of drinking water for me, which was more than sufficient. And for when dark, there are numerous candles and tea lights and lighters at all. I would also like to experience winter here!

Unfortunately, we were only here one night on the way through. Everything modern and stylishly furnished. Very clean kitchen and bathroom. Wenche responded quickly to messages and was helpful. We felt right at home. Thanks again!

The stay in the Cabin of Mads Nikola was great. This little house is very quiet and cute. The communication with our host was clear and friendly ! I would recommend to stay in that place if you’re looking for a peaceful spot.

We had a wonderful stay at Øystein’s hytte! The surrounding area was beautiful and peaceful. It was such a treat to relax by the cozy fire while the rain was falling outside. The cabin was spotlessly clean, which we really appreciated. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. The host was absolutely amazing—friendly, communicative, and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway! :)

Rural apartment overlooking Tyrifjorden

We had a one night stay on the road from the fjords down through Sweden and this was a really nice stay in between without having to go into Oslo again. The property is in a stunning location, provided you're in to peaceful spots and don't mind a short drive for groceries, meals, etc. Everything was very clean, and the kitchen was well-equipped enough for us to throw together a quick meal. In mid-summer the sun goes down at almost 11 pm which is a shock to us coming from further south. The shades are helpful but don't quite block the sun, so I'd suggest a mask if sunlight is sensitive for you. All told it was a great stay - exactly what we needed.
