Family-friendly holiday rentals in Takatsuki

Thank you to this traditional old house for making our trip a pleasant experience and for the patience of the host.We are very satisfied with this trip, the construction of the homestay is very good, and the location is convenient!

From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home in this wonderfully clean and well-equipped apartment. Everything was thoughtfully arranged—having a washer-dryer was a real bonus. The tatami bedroom added a lovely traditional touch, and the bathtub was perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The location was excellent, with many major sights easily reachable by direct bus or train. Even traveling from Kyoto Station with our luggage was no hassle at all. The area is peaceful and quiet at night, ensuring a good night’s sleep. Our host was exceptionally friendly and generous—there was even water, noodles, and rice provided, which was such a nice surprise. All in all, a truly fantastic stay. Highly recommended!

Excellent accommodation, peaceful place, ideal for long-term stays. There is everything you need to have a good stay, it's almost like home in terms of practicality. The host is also very kind and friendly (she gave me all the possibly useful information the day I arrived). To put it simply, I recommend it!

Ohara allowed me to stay in his beautiful home and was a wonderful host. Very friendly and the home was very close to the station and multiple stores.

Great location! Nishiki market was a 2 minute walk. Family mart was just around the corner. Everything was close and convenient. We love the free refreshments and some nice gifts when we arrived. We love it so much we’re already planning my next trip. LOL

We had a great stay at this Airbnb! The property is beautifully maintained, and one of the highlights was the serene koi ponds that added a peaceful, relaxing vibe to the entire experience. The space is thoughtfully designed with great amenities — coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, butter, cookware, multiple sinks and separate bathroom areas made it super convenient for our group of 6. It was easy for several people to get ready at the same time without feeling crowded. The owner also went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, even bringing us air fresheners — such a thoughtful and responsive host. Overall, it’s a perfect spot for a group or anyone looking for a calm, well-equipped place to stay. Highly recommend!

Nice place, clean and close to Kyoto station. Nice surroundings and nice staff.

Our family of 6, including 2 kids, loved the location for its proximity to the bamboo forest and Arashiyama shopping area. The space was immaculately clean and hosts even turned on the living room AC for our arrival. The kitchen was well stocked and my son loved having video games to play. The bicycles were a great way to go see some temples. One warning is because it’s such a residential area, it seemed like many restaurants closed early so we got stuck eating konbini dinner one of the nights - our fault!

We had a good stay. Mineral noise since it was in a residential area. Walkable to public transit and Nishiki Market. AC was very good. Washer and dryer worked well for small loads.

This hidden gem is conveniently located near the metro line, making it incredibly easy to get around during our stay. We absolutely loved the place—it felt like home, set within a beautifully traditional Japanese-style house. It was truly a wonderful experience, with all the listed amenities and a peaceful atmosphere in a quiet part of town. I highly recommend it for families of three or four. Our host was polite and very helpful whenever we had questions. The thoughtful decor and small details made it feel like one of the most authentic Japanese home experiences you could ask for.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious. For us, the best part was the location. It truly felt like we were locals living in the community where Cozy Cottage is located. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the stay definitely made our time in Kyoto extra special. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace in Kyoto.

We loved our stay at Yamano’s place. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet, but it was just a short walk to the river, bus stop, and train station. The hosts were extremely responsive and kind. They met us at check in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They also sent suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area.

The hosts Tatsuro-san was incredibly responsive and helpful, even when I needed help with a delivery! The place is as described, clean, wonderful amenities with sufficient space for my family of 5. Everything was well-explained by Tatsuro-san. It's a pity I could not stay longer as we were returning but I would definitely choose to stay again! The place is located in a very nice, quiet neighborhood with plenty of convenient spots to purchase what you need. It is also within short distance of a train station. The other hosts, Ichiro-san & Eiko-san were also very friendly & hospitable. Sending us off on our last day of check-out with an omiyage too! I look forward to my next trip to Osaka and staying here once again!

This house is lovely awesome and perfectly clean. Our stay was wonderful and more worth the price. The private onsen inside the tiny Japanese garden is beautiful. The location is very quiet, near the river and less 5 minutes by walk from the station and konbini. Everything you need is provided inside the house, so you don’t have to worry about

The Ryokan is beautiful, typically Japanese and suitable for our trip with the big family. We admired the beautiful sliding doors, the typical floor, the large French doors and especially the incredibly wonderful Japanese garden every day.

One of most special Airbnb i've stayed. two adjoining parts—one a lovingly kept 100-year-old beauty, the other a slick, modern build—linked by a garden walkway. Inside, the highlight is a dramatic lounge filled with antique pieces and original details, while on the living side, the shower room is enormous. The setting is a calm, local neighborhood with easy bus and train access, and the host is unfailingly friendly and quick to respond.

Shogo was an amazing host!! His home was clean and he had so many great directions in english for me and the other guests. I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in Kyoto! I know we will be back :)

Very homely place to share with 4-6 friends. Very accommodating and comfortable. The Open Air Bath was to AMAZING! HIGHLY RECOMMEND My only gripe is that we were looking for it at night and the Google address does not show you it is in a little alley off the main street.

Great location close to a train station and convenience stores and restaurants. Perfect space for our family of 5 with enough beds and space. The stairs were very steep and no bathroom on the 2nd floor so just be aware if those might be issues for you but we were fine.

We had a wonderful stay in this very clean and comfortable home, which had everything we needed—whether we were relaxing inside or heading out to explore. After a week of travel, we especially appreciated having laundry facilities and helpful supplies on hand. The space felt roomy for the two of us, especially compared to other places we’ve stayed in Japan. May and Milan were very responsive, and the detailed instructions made it easy to use the Japanese appliances. The location was excellent, just a 10-15 minute walk to Nishiki Market, with plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby. We’d love to return and would happily stay at May’s place again!

I had the pleasure of staying here about eight years ago and everything was perfect again! Great location across the street from a gorgeous Kyoto icon, Toji Temple, nice and close to public transportation including the city’s mega train station, and wonderful, gracious hospitality from the host. One of my favorite Airbnb stays ever!

This cozy home is just 2 mins walking from the historic resort Toji Temple and 8 mins walking to Toji station which is convenient to everywhere we want to visit. This entire home is very quiet and charming. It’s a typical Japanese style decor inside and has everything we need . I’ll strongly recommend here to everyone who wants to explore Kyoto.

We had a great five-night stay as a family of three. The apartment was exactly as described and fit us well — it felt a bit tight by the end, but that was mostly due to the shopping bags piling up! The location is very convenient, just a short walk from Kyoto Station. While we didn’t use it, the small kitchenette looked well-equipped for basic meals. What really stood out was our host, Mr. Yoneda. He was incredibly kind and responsive, even meeting us on the street late at night to make sure we found the place without trouble. He gave us a thorough tour of the apartment and even had a sweet surprise for our daughter. If you’re looking for a ryokan-style stay in Kyoto that’s affordable, comfortable, and comes with a fantastic host — this is a great choice.
