Very private. This lake is great for kayaking, canoeing,and fishing. You can swim off the dock,but there are some lily pads. The water is clear,but the bottom of the lake is mucky at shore. Great for dogs. Kayaks, canoe, & paddle boat available at your own risk. In winter, best to have AWD vehicle.

My place is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Alpena. There are a variety of restaurants and bars all within 1/4 mile. Lake Huron is my front yard, with tennis and basketball courts available for public use. The Alpena bandshell is a hop and skip from my house; every Saturday there’s a concert in the summer. There are two public beaches within a mile. And you can see masts from sailboats out my front window as the boat harbor is my neighbor.

We are located on The 10th hole of Portage Lake 18 hole golf course and are conveniently 3 miles from MTU and downtown Houghton with its beautiful waterway, restaurants, shops and minutes from the ski hill, nature trails. We are 60miles from Porcupine Mts/Lake of the Clouds, 40miles from Copper Harbor.
