This house of commerce (shower office/earlier BORDER/ TAX CONTROL Office ) is one of the oldest houses at the mouth of the North Sea Canal. The house dates back to 1875 and is therefore the basis of the later IJmuiden. With the largest sea lock in the world within walking distance and beach and fishing port within a radius of 1 km, this place is an ideal starting point for day trips. Haarlem (15 min.) and Amsterdam (30min) are also easily accessible. Public transport bus and train - are available as well as free parking.

Come spend the night in the old Wilhelminaschool from 1884. In a quiet street lies our building, which was once built as a school, then as a fire station and where we are now allowed to live. This third classroom has been refurbished with a lot of love and patience and is now transformed into a cozy Loft of 70m2. Because the space has an open staircase and fairly open balustrade, the apartment is not suitable for small children. Children from 7 years are welcome.

This stylish industrial accommodation is perfect for up to 6 people but less is also fine. You can use the spacious kitchen for cooking. Because of its location, you can reach Amsterdam, Haarlem or the beach in no time. Make a lovely bike, for example - or hike through the dunes or go shopping in Haarlem or Amsterdam. Upon your return, you can relax in the Finnish sauna.

We had a very nice stay at Harm's place. The accommodation was ideal for 2 adults and 1 child and the possibilities with the backyard and front yard give a lot of space, especially with a child. Beautiful small and quiet place with everything you need for a short vacation. 1Supermarket with fresh bread rolls is 2 min /walk away and the way to the beach is also within walking distance. But you can also park very well on the beach by car. Parking was generally very good on the streets. There was always one free even in relation to the accommodation. Unfortunately, we had some bad luck with the weather on the first days, but we still enjoyed the stay very much. Harm was a very friendly host. Thank you, we will be happy to come back, then with sun ☀️ ☺️

5 stars, very good! Check in smoothly. A very practically designed accommodation with all the extras for the size! Nothing was missing, very clean, quiet location, modern furnishings and only 10 minutes' walk to the sea... simply awesome! I was there on a DTM weekend with 2 friends and we liked this accommodation very much! (30 min by car to the race track in Zandvoort) Amsterdam can also be reached in 25 minutes by car. Communication was not necessary, as everything was clearly and comprehensibly described, very good! Shortly before departure, we also got to know the hosts Casper - very friendly! Highly recommend! Was very good! - Gladly again!

I visited the house with friends and we were very surprised by the generous amenities and size of the house! The garden was also very nice and in general the house offers many spaces where to sit or work alone - the kitchen is also perfectly equipped and we were all really positively surprised by the possibilities this house offered! This house is the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. It truly feels like visiting a close Dutch friend. The neighborhood is stunning—like a fairytale. The streets and houses are full of greenery and charm, a true delight to the eyes. The house is filled with family warmth and clever little touches. It was spotless and perfectly prepared for a comfortable stay. We were truly amazed by the welcome. When we walked in, we found a generous selection of delicious food. Fresh flowers were beautifully arranged around the house. Peter was incredibly friendly, we really appreciate his effort! He was always available, and we’re grateful for such a warm welcome. The garden deserves its own praise—it’s like a scene from a postcard. Sitting there with a cup of tea and enjoying the fresh air was pure joy. The location is excellent. Beautiful, scenic coastline is just a short drive away. Staying in this home was like stepping into a cozy, magical world. We truly hope to return someday! 🫶

The accommodation is not only modern and clean, but also cozy. You feel comfortable right away and can handle everything immediately. The location is quiet and in the private rear building, but you can still easily reach the nearest train station by public transport or on foot within a few minutes. Long-distance roads are also in the immediate vicinity. Street parking is possible at any time and free of charge. Danielle is an experienced, friendly and well-prepared host. She is happy to help with any questions and otherwise leaves you to your privacy. We used the accommodation as a starting point for trips to Amsterdam, the beach, and the surroundings of North Holland. Everything was easily accessible within 30 minutes. We felt welcome and very comfortable at the accommodation. We will be happy to come back.
