Zwaag ligt in West-Friesland, een mooie omgeving om te fietsen met vele uitvalswegen. Hoorn heeft een mooie oude kern en gezellige haven. Er is een prachtig strand en horeca.

Op korte afstand van IJsselmeer, Medemblik, andere steden. Om te winkelen, fietsen, wandelen, surfen, kiteboarden of zeilen. Hottub is op hout gestookt. Als er geen wind staat of als wind op het huis staat kan deze niet aan wegens overlast rookontwikkeling. Barbecue is aanwezig. Eventueel hond in overleg: 10 euro per dag.

Ons zelf ontworpen huisje ligt midden in de velden, op 45 minuten rijden van Amsterdam. Het staat op een kleinschalig recreatiepark, waar wij ook een ander huisje hebben onder de naam Familie Buitenhuys. Je slaapt in een volledig huisje met vloerverwarming en alle comfort. In de master bedroom staat een bad bij het raam, met uitzicht over de weilanden. Vanuit het bad zie je Nederland in zijn puurste vorm. Licht, eigenzinnig en speels ingedeeld.
