Private suite holiday rentals in Ventura County

We were really pleased by the location, the apartment, and the host YiFan. The apartment was clean and had anything and everything a guest would need. Plenty of closet and drawer space. Large comfortable bed. It was a particularly hot week when we were there and the A/Cs worked great. The windows also often cross ventilation. As noted by others, this apartment is connected to a house that sits in Box Canyon in Chatsworth at the top of a road. The road is a bit challenging the first time you go up it, but you quickly get used to it. The view from the porch is incredible, of the nearby mountains and across several communities. Great sunrises and moonscapes. YiFan was always available, immediately responsive, and helpful - a great host. It was a convenient location for us, less than 15 minutes from family. Anything you might need (Ralph's, Target, Home Depot, Trader Joe's, CVS, restaurants, etc.) is within a 15-20 minute drive. We loved staying here and look forward to returning.

Great experience in a nice spiritual setting. The room has what you need for a simple but rewarding stay. Definitely a great spot in an underrated mountain community.

I got sick on the way to LA and Stayed with Jennifer almost for week - her hospitality was more than i could ask for. When she went to the town, she asked if i need any groceries or wanna order food - she picked up lunch for me - will recommend her to any one who wants to have cabin experience and piece of mind:)

Stay was lovely, although the unit was a little less secluded than I anticipated. It sits above a somewhat noisy road, but the view was amazing. The apartment is the bottom floor of the owners’ home with their (blinded) windows overlooking the patio. They were great - we never heard them and they gave us total privacy - but it’s not a separate building, which I didn’t quite surmise from the listing details. We did have a relaxing time and the location for exploring the area is perfect. Lots of care went into this property - small details like providing tea/coffee, comfy seating, and cozy lighting and decor. Hosts were great communicators. Happy we stayed here and would recommend!

Had a nice stay! Christine is responsive and was very hospitable. Some nice additions including fruit, bottled water, and creamer for our coffee was much appreciated. You’re staying in a section of Christine’s home, but we had plenty of privacy including a private entrance. Would recommend! Thanks!

The studio was so cozy and so thoughtfully put together. I was really happy with how roomy it was since my partner and I were traveling with our dog. After exploring all day, we were always excited to head back to the studio to relax. The outdoor area also has a little table with barstools which we loved sitting at for breakfast. This is also so close to downtown Carpinteria and the beach. I highly recommend this spot!!

Check in was so smoothly. Bess was clear with instructions and the space was so cozy! We felt at home in the space.

My family and I stayed at Joel’s place for the weekend and when it says One of a Kind Retreat- it truly is. We have stayed in more than 30 different Airbnb’s here and abroad and Joel’s was our absolute favorite. The views can’t be beat, the property is so serene and private with trails to walk or run. And the actual space- every detail has been thought of. The beds were very comfortable, the linens were so soft, and the shower was fantastic. Joel himself is so kind and friendly. We hope to return here someday- all in all this place deserves an Academy Award ;)

Nikki was very kind and left great instructions on finding her place! Had trouble with the door but she came to my aid quickly to help me out! The surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful. It made me feel alive, truly a peaceful experience. Me and my significant other rated this as one of our top ten favorite places

My husband and I had a great stay with our dog. The space is compact but has everything you could possibly need and the full enclosed yard was perfect for our dog to stretch her legs and go potty. Everything was very clean, comfortable and thoughtfully considered. Would stay again!

Our stay at this Malibu Airbnb was absolutely perfect. Nestled in the serene hills, the property offered stunning views, fresh air, and a sense of calm that’s hard to find elsewhere. It was the ideal escape from the city—quiet, private, and surrounded by natural beauty. The location was great: just a short drive to Malibu’s wineries, and local restaurants. We felt close to everything, yet far enough to truly unwind. Our host was amazing—responsive, welcoming, and respectful of our privacy.   If you’re looking for a tranquil retreat in Malibu, this is the place. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to return!

Absolutely loved staying at Natasha's place. It's a short drive from downtown, so it was close enough but also very peaceful away from the buzz. The animals on the farm are super friendly (her cat Nacho became my instant best friend!) Natasha also was very nice and even turned the hot tub on in the evening for a great unwind. Will definitely be staying again!

There are 2 flavors of Airbnb: the 5-star hotel vs OG "stay in the host's living room" vibe. This one is the latter, full of character and quirk. I had magical moments off the beaten trail: 1. outdoor showering with a lovely breeze and unobstructed view of the valley. 2. hilltop canopy bed. majestic 270 degree views of the surrounding hills and canyons. 3. randomly seeing the fattest cute little pig ever, just sauntering down the road. However, this place might NOT be the best for someone who wants the 5-star ecolodge. If you cannot stand a spider in the corner of your (clean and well stocked) outhouse, then choose a different airbnb. If you do not like dogs with big personality who will come assertively say hi, then choose a different airbnb. As long as you get all the wifi passwords for various routers, you will be fine to connect. I had productive times myself and nailed some important work calls! Beautiful home in a beautiful setting. I felt right at home. The pool is lovely. The place was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

This is by far the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in. The photos do not do it justice. The architecture of the home and garden is phenomenal. The sweeping views of the ocean are jaw dropping and made for a relaxing stay. Robby was very welcoming and helped with many recommendations from restaurants to things to see around Malibu. I will definitely be back in the future and highly recommend anyone book this home if it’s available!

The apartment was very well appointed. The kitchen had everything I needed for cooking. There was plenty of space. Jeff and Irina were great hosts. I like the location for bike riding in the mountains of Santa Monica. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. I highly recommend this place.

We really enjoyed this airbnb. It is in a perfect location and has everything two people might need. The hosts made the absolute best use out of the space. It is very clean, comfortable, private, and peaceful. We felt right at home. We will definitely be booking again!

Beautiful spot; very secluded and peaceful but still an easy 10 minute drive to downtown Carpinteria. Loved sitting out in the evenings and seeing and hearing all the different birds. I highly recommend walks at the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve, and in downtown Carp some favorites are Brass Bird, Carp Kitchen (for good takeout), Rudy's for Mexican, and Giannfranco for a nice Italian lunch or dinner. Valerie was a wonderful host. I hope to be back!
