Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Windham County

The Ashford Lake cottage was absolutely perfect for our sister birthday weekend! The hot tub, fire pit, screened in porch, and dock all were perfect for catching up, relaxing, and enjoying each other's company. The house was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need and everything was extremely clean. Jason was extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. I can't recommend this cottage enough and hope to visit again in the future!

Memorial Day weekend was cloudy, cool and windy, so my husband, elderly mother and I were especially pleased to have a nicely appointed and welcoming home base for hanging out. From a large screen TV down to the smallest of decorative details, Nicole has thought of everything to make for a relaxing stay. Having rented other places, I particularly appreciated spotless cookware, new bath towels, comfortable beds, and to top it all off an espresso machine! My tea drinking husband kept the electric tea kettle warm all morning. All this and a very nice, peaceful water view with great bird watching. We look forward to returning.

What a GEM of a place!!!! Book this house you will not regret it for a second!!!! First the house is so spacious and easily fit our two families on our weekend getaway and it was perfect!! The fish pond was perfect for our kids entertainment they stayed down there for hours fishing, we did have one rainy day and still managed to get some playing on the porch inbetween the rain storms. Porch is huge with a beautiful table for eating outside. I loved the entertainment room in the lower level we were still able to play games and the husbands played pool, they have a great restaurant style booth seating down there which is perfect for kiddos to eat or do crafts! Absolutely loved the layout of this home. Every room was big with big closets too! Easily could’ve fit a pack n play in each one. This house was built to perfection and to house some amazing memories and that’s just what we got some beautiful memories and a weekend of fun!!! Absolutely will be back!!! Great hosts!!!

We had the most wonderful stay in Woodstock while vending at the Brimfield flea market. It was so nice to have a peaceful getaway during the show to sleep well at night. The kitchen was fully stocked with all essential cookware and even seasonings/sauces to assist our meals. Same with the bathroom! The house was cozy and clean, clear and easy instructions in the manual. Mike messaged frequently to check on us and was very kind. Can’t wait to come back to this little woodsy oasis!

Immaculate space. Location and views are incredible. Check in was easy, hosts were very communicative and you can tell they put a great deal of energy into their home. They also included fresh eggs from their farm. We were obsessed with it and will definitely rebook.

My husband and I stayed at Peter's lake house from June 9th to the 12th. We found the home to be clean and bright, as well as spacious. The bed we slept in was comfortable with soft linens, and both bathrooms were clean with plenty of towels. It's a quiet neighborhood and although we didn't use the backyard, we found it to be private with a nice patio. The last minute tasks before check out were very basic. Peter was a great host, very welcoming and communicative. We felt right at home staying at his house and we would definitely book it again!

We were on the way back home from Acadia and were highly pleased with our decision to split up the drive with a night at Cheryl’s place. Perfect landing place for families with kids, as ours instantly went to town playing in the bedroom, which was packed with all sorts of fun options. It is cozy and feels very much like home. Old Sturbridge Village was a short drive the next day and fascinating itself. Very welcoming and affordable option for families!

Elisa was super helpful and accommodating. We had a very enjoyable stay and felt very rested and comfortable. Truly felt like a home away from home. If we are back in the area we will 100% try and stay here again.

I loved this little stay, it was very peaceful and lovely. Matthew was an excellent host and the snacks and breakfast options were a lovely addition to the amenities. Matthew is a really thoughtful and lovely host, I'd love to stay here again on my next visit to Providence/Pawtucket :)

We felt right at home during our stay. Comfortable and spacious apartment. The view is spectacular. The hosts were super responsive and accommodating with special requests. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Storrs.

The hosts Marybeth and Douglas were so welcoming to us and accommodated our request to check- in earlier than scheduled! They were very friendly and provided extra stuff to make our stay feel so homely and comfortable! Everyone of us (13 people) truly enjoyed our stay at their beautiful, spacious and historical home!

We had a great stay at bobs apartment. The unit was just as described. It has a large yard where we could let our toddler twins run around to burn energy. Bob was very responsive when we had a question. Instructions were clear and concise. He gave us a lot of grace when the little ones had middle of the night tantrums (we had a 24 hr drive so our routines were totally messed up). My only critique would be we really wish we had a broom to sweep up. Thanks again!

Lovely living space. This stay was now my second time staying there as my wife and I stayed there last August. If I’m ever in the area again and need a place to stay, all bets point toward this listing. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a one or multiple nighter. There’s a wonderful local bar/restaurant literally next door, Rapscallion, with great food, friendly staff, and a nice selection of drinks (if that’s your thing). Overall… 10 out of 10, would do again.

Obinna is a great host and this apartment is so comfortable and lots of space to stretch out. Fully stocked kitchen and there are fantastic restaurants within walking distance. Two 65", high end tvs and the mattresses on the beds are sooo nice. Obinna puts effort in where a lot of hosts cheap out, which really makes this pad special. It's tough to get an open spot here on the calendar, but, if get the chance, make your reservation here. It's the best in the area.

The Villa was exactly as described! Easy communication with owner. A perfect getaway weekend, every amenity we could want or need! Look forward to visiting again in the near future!

Host was responsive and helpful, instructions were clear. The apartment was clean and very nice, we enjoyed eating dinner on the porch. It was easy to drive to downtown Providence and Gillette Stadium. It was easy to get to and a lot of space for parking (we all arrived mostly separately and there was space to park all 3 cars). Also, we were all very impressed by the shower and the water pressure lol. A great location and great Airbnb!! I would def recommend this spot and would come back! 😊

This is a wonderful property that is close to everything we like to do! Krista is a wonderful host and I’m always excited if her place is available.

This is a ground level apartment in an historic home just off Benefit Street, a prime location on Providence’s College Hill. Because of the sloped terrain, it might seem like a basement apartment from one side, but it has a garden entrance at the front door. If you can handle the steep streets in this hilly area, it’s a perfect location if you want to be within walking distance of Brown University, the Rhode Island School of Design, and Downtown Providence. I did not rent a car while staying here and never felt I needed one. Tall travelers should be aware that this dwelling has low ceilings by modern standards. That didn’t bother me in the slightest; in fact, it made the apartment feel more cozy. Nevertheless, visitors over six feet tall should be aware of this aspect and make an informed decision. The apartment has a warm, comforting esthetic with all sorts of art on the walls and books on the shelf, and both made a great background for video conferences using the robust wifi signal.

We stayed in town for an event at Mohegan Sun. The flexible check in was helpful as we got in late at night. The place was clean and welcoming.
