The accommodation is in a quiet residential neighborhood that is well located, 5 minutes on foot from Yamagoe Station on the Tozai Subway Line and 8 minutes on foot from JR Yamagoe Station, with good security. JR Yamashiro Station is one stop (5 minutes) from JR Kyoto Station. This area is home to many people, so there are many supermarkets, 24-hour convenience stores, restaurants, and bars, so you'll have no trouble finding things while traveling. The house is in a residential neighborhood, so it's very quiet at night, so you can enjoy a stay and experience as if you were living in Japan. You can access all of Kyoto's tourist attractions by public transportation such as trains and buses from the nearest station, JR Yamko Station and Yamko Subway Station. It is also easy to get to Kansai Airport, Osaka, Nara, Tokyo, and many other places. The highway (Kyoto East IC) is a 3-minute drive from the inn. * Free parking is available for 1 car in the parking lot about 300 meters from the house. The private rental accommodation "Takasegawa Shichijo" is a fully renovated 115-year-old traditional Kyoto townhouse. The traditional Kyoto townhouse, which forms part of the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been redesigned as a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation, while retaining its original structure, so that you can enjoy a comfortable stay even in the humid and hot summers and harshly cold winters that are unique to Kyoto. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the tsubo garden, which is designed to resemble a "roji" (*a garden leading to a tea room). There is also a sofa in the hallway where you can relax and enjoy the view of the tsubo garden. In the evening, you can spend a relaxing time watching the illuminated tsubo garden. There are two bedrooms on the second floor: a Japanese-style room with two single beds and a Western-style room with two single beds. If there are 5 or more guests, we ask that you use the Japanese-style room on the first floor as a bedroom by laying out futons, though this may be a bit inconvenient. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and dishes for simple cooking.

My grandparents were wealthy merchants who used the above-mentioned Soso (inclined canal) to transport white sand, gravel, granite for gate pillars, etc. to the shrines and temples of Kyoto in wooden boats from the early Showa period. They built a torii gate and shrine in the garden of the house and worshiped Inari to prosper in business. There are many old and rare items such as a large water house (dish rack), a long brazier, and a lantern with a family crest.
