Cottage holiday rentals in Yarra River

This is an absolute gem hidden amongst the trees of Cockatoo. A beautiful wood cottage nestled in the woods, so spacious, well appointed, airy, lots of light, great in any season. Quiet but at the appropriate time, you could watch and take great pictures of the famous Puffing Billy railway making its way past Felder Station which is just a short walk away. This is a great place to make as Headquarters for exploring the Dandenong and Yarra Valley regions. We spent three nights there and it was too soon. Kane and Brook are terrific hosts and made us feel at home with little kind touches, greeting us on arrival and made us feel right at home. This is a place not to be missed. Well done and thank you so much!

This property is beautifully serene, private and well equipped for a weekend to get away from it all. The host was stellar in ensuring that the time at the property was the best it could be. 5 stars.

The cottage was beautiful, neat and tidy with plenty of character. The short walk to the beach and private, quiet street was ideal. I would definitely stay again.

The Windmill Barn is a truly unique and special property, set in the most stunning outdoor surrounds - honestly made me want to give up inner-city life and move to the hills! We had a lovely time at this cozy barn and enjoying a morning cuppa in the courtyard listening to the kookaburras and watching the sun rise. The only thing we thought was strange was in the listing it states outdoor amenity includes a firepit and private hot tub, but this wasn't there - maybe this used to be available but isn't anymore? Also a lovely continental breakfast was provided, would definitely book again!

Stayed for long weekend to accompany client for respite. She loved everything about the place, as did I. Place was as described and looked even better in person. The pool/sauna/spa area were awesome and we made good use out of these amenities during our stay. Great little living/kitchen area and comfy bed upstairs, Very accessible and accommodating to clients needs. Neighbours were a little noisy, as it was the long weekend that was to be excepted but other than that it was a Relaxing little get away, hope to visit again soon.

Immaculately presented, peaceful and welcoming. Heather’s guide to the area was also super helpful and helped us plan our weekend. Our dogs enjoyed sniffing the grounds and pretending to be country dogs for a couple of days. It’s a nice drive down to Inverloch or Venus bay and the nearby Middle pub in Korumburra was lovely on a sunny afternoon in the beer garden.

We had such a fantastic stay. The house is so thoughtfully pieced together and Tricia was such an accomodating host. Heater on got arrival, bottle of wine from the winery next door and offered flexibility with checking in and out. Fantastic property and host!

A lovely relaxing stay at a very cute cottage in a great location. The cottage was set up well with all the amenities you could need. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others!

The cottage was comfy, well equipped, and spotless. Sue and Rob came by soon after we arrived and gave us a warm welcome. The peace and quiet was so relaxing, and the views fantastic.

Judith and Paul’s cottage was perfect for our stay in Healesville with our 15 month old son. The property was clean, tidy and had lots of amenities that were important to us as a young family, such as outlet covers, children’s toys, books and tableware. The back deck and gardens were stunning and provided a perfect spot to unwind. In terms of location the cottage is a short 6 minute drive to the Healesville sanctuary, and a short drive into town where there are lots of shops, cafes and parks. We can see why this property would be ideal if you have a dog! We will be recommending the property to our friends who like to travel with their pets.

This was our second time staying at the cottage. We absolutely loved it. It is very cozy and peaceful.

Charming place with lovely amenities. Was perfect for us to stay overnight while we attended an event, I can see it would be fun to settle in a bit longer. Check in was fuss free and easy to do.

This was our 3rd visit and we love it. Such a great place for little kids. My boys love exploring the yard and surroundings, as well as playing with the dinosaurs and dragons. I love the fire place, out door fire, scenery and peacefulness. We all loved seeing and feeding many rosella's outside the front door. A very special experience. Kester is so lovely to deal with and goes out of her way to accommodate your needs. We certainly hope to return.

Michelle & Edward were amazing. Michelle even came down early to let us in when we arrived sooner than expected. they also set up the cutest little happy birthday sign & treats for my birthday which was truly above & beyond. great recommendations for restaurants & walks were given. Michelle even came down & helped us with the fire place when we had trouble as we are definitely not fire start savvy haha. the cottage had great heating for how cold it gets & is awesome acreage with its own little forest which Edward mowed a path out for visitors to walk through! all in all we would highly recommend & visit again. just a tip for young ones like ourselves who love our Netflix bring a chromecast for the TV or DVDs for the DVD player.

We stayed at Kate’s cottage for a cosy wholesome getaway to celebrate my birthday. The space is honestly better than the photos, location is perfect, you feel completely secluded but only a short drive into town. Kate had the heater going for us before we got there and all the firewood we needed to start the wood heater that lasted our whole stay. The linen and bed were super comfy! and the added addition of the heated blanket were appreciated on our first night too. The space had everything we needed and more but the highlight was definitely the llamas and horses on the property and watching them in the afternoons. Perfect getaway for two! couldn’t recommend enough :)

Went there to celebrate a milestone birthday and was pleasantly surprised on arrival. The house lived up to reviews by previous guests. The surrounding property and outlook complimented the house. The highlight of our stay was the stunning bathroom which had panoramic views from the bathtub. The only recommendation for future guests would be to check cupboards for food, such as the sourdough loaf Cheryl provided.

The entrance to the cottage was like a fairytale- overhanging trees and a winding path. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bed comfy with lovely sheets. The bathroom large and clean, water hot. Plenty of seats outside to enjoy. It was quiet and peaceful, just what was needed. But close to the beach , shops and cafes.

We had an amazing stay at Harry’s house. The cottage is located at a wonderful location very close to Yarra river and surrounded by lush greenery. The cottage itself is super cosy and has everything you would need for your stay. Steph is such a kind host. She was always responsive and accommodating when we wanted to extend our stay. One of our fav stays! Will definitely be back. 😊
