Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Albemarle County

We loved staying at Leora's place. Would definately stay again! Me and my family were very comortable and loved the surroundings! My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful time on the canoes that were provided at the lake close by and really loved the scenery. When we were settled in after many outings, it was so nice to relax on the deck and screened in porch and also enjoy the board games that were provided. The place was very spacious and had everything that you would need. Wish we could of stayed longer!

Lisa was a very good host and responded to my messages in a reasonable amount of time. The house was nicely decorated and spacious for our group (5 people). The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The location actually turned out to be better than originally thought for what we wanted to see and do. We were basically 10-15 minutes away from downtown Charlottesville, wineries, and Monticello. We had a great time and plan to come back.

This home and hosts are both rare gems, from the ease of checking in to the homes beautiful ambiance, its makes a great place to get away and enjoy nature. We would love to come back and explore more of the trails and wineries.

This property was just perfect for a weekend meeting up with old friends for a local wedding. The area is gorgeous and peaceful, and the porches in the front and back of the house are a lovely sitting area to spend time. The layout of the house is great and feels spacious while also being cozy. The only thing to keep in mind is that there is only one bathroom - certainly not a dealbreaker but it required some juggling with 6 people in the house. Overall 10/10 and we were reluctant to leave!

We can’t say enough about our stay at The Wooder House. The home was perfect for our group of six, giving us all our own space to retreat while also offering large spaces to enjoy meals and movies together. Our kids loved the collections of board games, vinyl records and Calvin & Hobbes books. Everything we needed was readily available and thoughtfully organized, and Amy was such an attentive and kind host for our entire stay. Our visit revolved around hiking in Shenandoah, so the home was a great base camp for our adventures. It’s about a 30 minute drive to the south entrance of the park, and 20 minutes to a variety of breweries, coffee shops and vineyards. We truly can’t wait to visit again.

Steve was very helpful to us. He allowed us to check in early. The entire house was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The only negative is that the two steps onto the porch are not enough for Seniors. You have to step up a long way from the second step to the porch. A handrail would be helpful. I don’t think younger people will have an issue with the step. Steve has a lot of books in the house about the area. The thing that stood out to me was how spotless the entire property was & how Steve went out of his way to make our stay pleasant!

This place was awesome! From checking in, to checking out…. The owners were always easy to communicate with! The scenery was out of this world! Sadly i only stayed one night but i will definitely be back!!!!

We were looking for a place where we could gather and celebrate our bother’s birthday. We found it here. Easy access, pleasantly decorated with a kitchen fully equipped for our dinner preparations. There was an issue with the Keurig but Jonathan quickly responded to my message and brought in another that worked just fine. I would stay here again.

We had a great time at Tara & Mark's. It was as good as advertised and we really enjoyed the comfortable and clean space, and the beautiful surroundings outside.

Colleen’s place was comfortable and cozy. Let her know our ETA - she was outside when we arrived. She is friendly, kind and gave us some recommendations of things to do. She also has a book filled with menus, etc. Her place was extremely clean! The kitchen was stocked with everything you need for cooking, baking, cocktails! She had snacks and water. Items like coffee, spices, cooking oil were in the cupboard. There were extra toothbrushes, razors, extra towels, tissues, noisemakers, night light! So many extra touches! We only stayed one night, but it was a great experience! We would come back in a heartbeat! Thank you Colleen and Richard!

I had a wonderful stay. Ruthann’s place was beautiful both inside and out. The room was spacious, spotless, and full of light, perfect for a solo traveler. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked, great water pressure in the shower. I especially loved the raised nook beside the bed; it was a lovely place to begin the day, reading by the morning light and listening to the birds. The private patio is peaceful, a well-shaded garden with comfortable furnishings; you can spend all day out there. Ruthann is just lovely. Her instructions for parking and accessing the space were clear, and she was very responsive and checked in with me each day. It was great to chat. I felt very welcome. I appreciated all the little touches, from snacks and water to the collection of DVDs. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and hope to stay again!

Andrew's place was just as described. It was 5 minutes away from everything I wanted to do, so it was also in a great location! I stayed for a week, and it fit my needs perfectly. I would stay here again!

Beautifully decorated and extremely clean! Had everything we could have possibly wanted and the location was perfect for visiting wineries and breweries! We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to the area!

Great location close to the arena. Much better than having to drive home 2 hours at midnight. Saw deer and a chipmunk in the yard so that was cool. Nice quiet neighborhood.

Jodi was the sweetest host! She was so quick to respond to any of our questions or needs. The pool was the perfect spot where we spent much of our time. The screened in porch was also so lovely!

Our stay was peaceful and the apartment was close to everything we needed - dining, site seeing, etc. It is a quiet residential area that's tree lined and inviting. Shawn's place is well accommodated, we especially liked the roomy shower (some BnBs lack that simple yet important amenity.) Apartment was as described and pictured. I was a return client as I had stayed a weekend the year before, so that is as positive a recommendation one may need.

We really enjoyed it! Walking distance to all of downtown, the train was a little loud but not too bad!

I had the pleasure of rebooking this cozy condo in a leafy quiet neighborhood in north Charlottesville for my mother and sister while she had some work commitments to complete. Chet and Dorothy displayed unparalleled flexibility and hospitality, accommodating my mother’s shifting circumstances due to work and family pressures. From the moment she arrived, my mother and sister felt right at home. The condo is beautifully appointed and nestled on the top floor of the building in a secluded quiet neighborhood offered a much-needed respite after long days. Chet and Dorothy went above and beyond to ensure their stay was comfortable and stress-free, making it a truly memorable and heartwarming experience. We are immensely grateful for their kindness and would highly recommend this lovely condo to anyone looking for a long-term home in Charlottesville.

Great place in a great part of Charlottesville! Very modern & kind of funky! But spotless & easy to stay in. Issac was super responsive during check-in while we were trying to figure a few things out. Would love to go back! Highly recommended.

Great stay. Isaac was easy to deal with. The place is beautiful and in a great location. We would definitely come back. It needs more hangers and more towels. Next time I will bring an extra set of towels for each bathroom with me. Very easy check out. Very relaxing stay.

We had a great girls weekend at Melissa’s. The property was the perfect size for 4 and was very convenient! Ear plugs and white noise machines really helped with the street noise. Melissa was very responsive and helpful.

We stayed in this condo for a month and found it to be very comfortable. Although in an older, fairly large complex and on the ground level, we found it to be quiet, private, and secure. The kitchen was well stocked, all appliances in good working order, furnishings in good condition, and pleasant decor lending to a homey atmosphere. Condo is in a great location with shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. All in all, a good experience. Angelique was immediately responsive to questions/concerns. We would definitely stay there again.
