How many people can say that they stayed in a Sea Lion Shanty Yurt? We can! Perfect for our needs, and a unique experience that I would repeat. Loved the communal kitchen, and the relaxing interactions with other travelers. Highly recommended.

The yurt was adorable and cozy. We enjoyed making waffles and visiting with some of the other guests during breakfast. We had a last minute laye night reservation and Heather was very accommodating and a great communicator.

My husband and I are local Alaskans, and decided to escape for the weekend from Wasilla to Seward. We couldn't have picked a better spot than this charming yurt village. Our yurt was not only cozy, but also spotless, making us feel instantly at home. The outdoor kitchen was well-equipped, providing everything we needed to whip up a meal. We also loved the outdoor seating area, which was perfect for playing games and socializing with fellow guests. It truly was a magical getaway, and we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely little find for my pup and toddler. The kitchen space was so great and loved that there was a fire going. Peaceful and an all around beautiful community feeling.

We enjoyed our stay at this really magical yurt camp, it felt like a really unique experience! The camp kitchen was well organized and charming, and the shared bathrooms and showers were super clean. we highly recommend!

Omg! It was an awesome experience. The yurt was totally private and super cute! The Inn was located in a beautiful and convenient location. The yurt had all the required amenities and more! It was a fun and fulfilling stay. Will definitely visit again if possible!

We really enjoyed this unique experience. This was our first time in a " yurt." It was kind of expensive but again it's the adventure. It is about 10 min from downtown Seward which was perfect for us. It was cold and rainy for our visit but we still was able to enjoy a fire then inside the yurt was a heater which kept us very toasty. We would def recommend if you get a chance!

When I looked at the listing the thought occurred that the price seemed high for a yurt. Wrong. Jason and Charity have built a beautiful and hospitable series of yurts with soothing creek underneath; a view of the ocean and mountains with phenomenal hiking ( short but dramatic) trails and excellent kayaking. Host Cooper was also our kayak guide and did a great job of settling fears about ocean kayaking and highlighting some great spots to visit. Capt Emily likewise was a great boat captain there and back. Shearwater Cove took ingenuity and hard work to build and we as guests got to enjoy it. Priceless.

Shearwater Cove is a magical and stunning hideaway. I am so thankful to be able to spend a few nights in this amazing setting. Airbnb’s usually come up a bit short in comparison to the photos but this place exceeds the photos which were beautiful of course. It is the result of such thoughtful hard work and it shows. Care for the environment while sharing a special piece of this planet. Thank you!

My mom was visiting from Florida, and we were looking for a place near Seward that offered both comfort and enough space for our family of six. That’s when we came across Sourdough Sue's, and we’re so glad we did. We rented the larger 30-foot yurt, and it was perfect! There was plenty of room for everyone, and it had all the amenities and cozy touches that made it feel just like home. The peaceful setting was exactly what we were hoping for - quiet, scenic, and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring. Sue checked up on us a few times to ensure everything was going well and was so hospitable, and a pleasure to talk to! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and relaxing getaway in the Seward area!

loved this spot. saw 2 bald eagles haggling over a silver salmon. saw 2 silver salmon swimming up stream. all of this opposite where we were sitting eating our dinner. there's a bald eagle nest opposite where we were sitting and 2 eagles hooked up whilst we were there. very comfortable bed andxeverything we needed for a great stay. Thank you.

Incredible place that I highly recommend if you’re in the Seward area. Remote off grid cabins perched on the coastline with beautiful views. Plenty of activities with kayaking, rowboats, hikes, paddle boarding, snorkeling, campfire etc. It’s a pack in pack out ordeal, with basic amenities. In my opinion, you are paying for the location and access to have an untainted wild glamping experience deep in nature. Totally worth it.
