Staying at Panchwati Farms, Prashant’s homestay in Almora, was an experience to remember. The highlight was the delicious Kumauni food—every dish was authentic, flavorful, and prepared with so much care. This AirBnB in Almora was classy, safe, comfortable, clean & adequate for me, a little home away from home. My hosts provided furniture for my needs. Kitchen starter provisions were thoughtfully placed. The bedding, linen & comforter were just right. Everything was spick & span, & Meenakshi helped me to find help for cooking & cleaning. Warm hospitality is second nature to my hosts. They did not spare any effort to help me have a good time. I had conversation, friendship, knowledge of the Kumaon Himalayas, Army anecdotes, and a Pahadi Karhi to remember ! The view from Prem Kutiya is exceptional, it's set over an expansive valley with greens & spurs. My teas were had on the terrace under a shady grapefruit tree. The month was so delightful, it sped past ! God willing, I will return.... I thoroughly loved my stay (6 nights) here. Located on the upper part of the slope, the place is peaceful, quiet and has rustic vibe. Last 60 mts of access is through a narrow winding path. Be prepared to carry your own luggage. Tiny groove of tall Deodhars lends a special charm. The thoughtfully appointed home has all the basic necessities. Bathroom was clean. Bed linens could have been fresher. Balcony on the first floor is a wonderful place to while away the time gazing at unfolding mountains beyond the valley. Food was authentic local cuisine provided by the adjacent neighbour and was healthy and delicious. The place is good for both long stay as well for as a stop over. I loved the quirky jugaads, such as fan regulator, to take care of the needs of the guests!
