Our historic cottage is nestled on the side of the dramatic Shibden valley, famous as the home of Ann Lister, 'Gentleman Jack'. Shibden View offers luxury, self-catering accommodation for up to four adults. Situated on the cobbled Hough, our recently renovated, 18th century building boasts two en-suite bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen/diner and a cosy , first floor lounge with panoramic views over Shibden Hall and estate. Follow in the footsteps of Anne Lister made famous in ‘Gentleman Jack’ or a trip to The Piece Hall, full of shops, bars & restaurants. Entertain the kids at Eureka or journey further to Howarth, home to the Brontes.

This stunning, newly renovated cottage is located adjacent to Shibden Hall Estate, the ancestral home of Anne Lister, and inspiration behind the recent BBC period drama “Gentlemen Jack.” A mid terrace cottage with gardens, front and back and surrounded on all sides by green wooded areas. We’re only a 2 minute walk to the historic Shibden Park, where you’ll find a cafe, boating lake, land train and model railway, a well equipped modern playground and of course the majestic Shibden Hall.

Beautiful country cottage renovated close to Dales

This is a beautiful country cottage. Full of antiques and oil painting. The entire cottage is to rent with 3 double bedrooms. The bedrooms are sumptuous with top of the range Egyptian bedding feather pillows and feather duvets. There’s one king sized bed . 1 Queen sized bed and 1 double bed. I renovated the place top to bottom a while ago . Guests will have 2 bathrooms. Because it is a family home, some belongings are still there. If you like minimalist style my home isn’t for you !

Ridings Cottage is attached to the owners historic, victorian home with connections to the Bronte sisters. It is self contained with one spacious bedroom which has a very comfortable double bed and a pull out sofa bed. We are close to Dewsbury Hospital with easy access to Leeds, Huddersfield and Wakefield. M1 and M62 motorway links. We have made the cottage as comfortable as possible to ensure you enjoy your stay.

Our little cottage is the perfect base for visits to the local tourist attractions, such as Hebden Bridge, Haworth (home of the Bronte's), York and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, to name but a few. And if you're into walking and taking in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, then look no further, you could start with the Calderdale Way or the stunning North Yorkshire National Park which is only an hours drive away.
