Villa holiday rentals in Castro

There were four of us visiting Marcella on a girls' vacation. The house really offers everything you need for a short trip to the south. Marcella also responds to every message and request within minutes and helps where she can. We enjoyed the patio and the roof terrace the most! The sea is also within a few meters :)

We had a lovely stay. A relaxing place, lovely pool and outdoor space, close to Tricase with a good choice of restaurants.

We had such a great time. As a party of 11 the villa felt spacious and had everything we needed. The pasta making class and dinner cooked at the villa provided by Daniela were brilliant and delicious! We would love to come back!

An absolutely wonderful villa with a great view to the east and sunrise. Lots of space to sit and lounge and eat and spend time together with family and friends. A bit of a drive to the beach, but all very doable. Definitely in the return to list. Last but not least - Fausto is fab!

Carlos' little house is an absolute gem for a quiet and romantic stay in the south of Italy. The terrace is a dream, the sunset every evening fantastic. The house is renovated and modern and tastefully furnished. Carlo himself is very caring and takes a friend to translate with him in case of language barriers. 6 stars 😍

We spent seven amazing nights at Franco’s place. The house and its surroundings are just stunning. I second the person who had said that the pictures do not do justice to this place; the view is breathtaking and the house itself is lovely and cozy. We immediately felt home here, and it was very difficult to leave. Franco sent very helpful instructions on how to get in the house, and he was always available and responsive when we had questions. Overall, we had a wonderful time!

We had a great time at Antonino's house with our child. The part that was dedicated to us is large, independent, modern and clean. The pool is easily accessible and the views are stunning. The house is fully equipped, with the barbecue on the back terrace. Antonino was very attentive, showing us around the property, showing us the animals (chickens and cats), and bringing us, for example, fruit from the garden. We recommend it!

Great location, within walking distance of Specchia for restaurants etc. Camilla was extremely quick to respond to any questions.

A wonderful family holiday in a beautiful place. Mario and his family are excellent hosts who cannot do enough for you. Their hospitality was very appreciated, especially during a family emergency that occurred during our stay. They arranged cleaners and a chef for us, making a 5 star holiday more like 6 stars! The villa itself is beautiful with so much space and the swimming pool is a wonderful thing to have, few and far between in this part of Italy. Location is excellent, with the sea a short drive away and lots of lovely places like Gallipoli to visit. As a host myself I know how much work goes in to keeping a property in great condition and ensuring guests have a lovely stay - Mario has achieved that here and i hope to come back really soon!

Beautiful house, gorgeous view from the pool that looks bigger in the photo than it actually is. The lower level is partially under the terrain. Super bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen equipment ok. The living room feels a little bare, it would like to retrofit it, and there's an uncomfortably sharp blue light. At this price, you wouldn't expect to still pay €150 for linens.

Andrea is a fabulous host and could not do more to help us settle in and be looked after. He was always available and very accommodating. The property is a gem if you like peaceful, quiet places with a wonderful view. Two couples shared a bathroom without any problem, but generally it has a nice layout, with lots of space. We had one rainy day but we were still just happy to admire the view and relax, and it was a great surprise one evening to be able to see the mountains on the other side of the Gulf of Taranto. The beach at Lido Malibu is Caribbean and almost empty when we were there late May, but probably busy later judging by the number of available deck chairs. Gallipoli (30 mins) is a great trip to do as is Lecce a bit further, but generally we were happy to stay at the Villa by the superb pristine pool or go down to the beach. As we were self catering the house is well equipped, with lots of linen and towels, comfortable and nicely decorated. Definitely recommended.

The Borgo Gelos was a true delight . With a large group of 11 of us it broke up easily into the the different apartment and amazing central kitchen. No one felt cramped for space with great privacy. The infinity pool was a highlight! Our host Elia was there for any questions and made some excellent site seeing recommendations including a fantastic private boat coastal tour and Kayaking, wine tasting. Etc. The little town of Surano was charming and the huge grocery/retail shops center was only 5 min straight easy drive The Borgo Gelso is optimally located to explore beauty of the area around Surano from Lecce to Castro to Otranto, Marina Serra, down to Leuca and even across the peninsula to Gallipoli. I hope you enjoy the Borgo Gelso as much as we did. A great value and special place.

We had a wonderful time. Lots of space in the villa for two families and the teenagers loved having their own bathrooms! Very helpful in every way, we had a lovely dinner in the recommended restaurant in the village. We would definitely return!

An unforgettable stay! The villa is beautiful, perfectly equipped with an impressive pool and a tennis court in excellent condition. The whole house is air-conditioned, which makes the stay very pleasant even in the middle of summer. The host was exceptional: available, attentive and very good advice for visiting the area. The welcome was impeccable, warm and professional. The setting is peaceful, ideal for meeting up with friends or family. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. Many thanks!

We had an amazing 5 days at Acquaviva villa. We fell in love with it as soon as we saw it on the airbnb site but loved it even more when we were in it. What a beautiful villa and breathtaking surroundings. It had everything we needed during our stay and more. As for our host Marinella, we were impressed by her care, warmth and professionalism from the second we connected with her via messages. She did everything to make us comfortable, cared for and excited to start our stay at Acquaviva !! She even prepared a delicious lunch for us at our arrival and was there to greet us and welcome us like good old friends😊 It was wonderful to finally meet this lovely lady ! She was also wonderful to check on us every day and make sure we are ok and have a good program for our day. Not to gorget that prior to our arrival she had already prepared a whole program for our stay and we were happy to follow many of her good advice😊 Thanks Marinella for making us feel at home in your beautiful home !!

I have to say that we found a courtesy,kindness ,availability from Alessandro and Mauro , accellent hosts;never happened to find people like this, they made us feel like family, they satisfied our every request with a grace and politeness that is not from everyone , they pampered us with your welcome overtime that we really appreciated... we can only say that Alessandro is Mauro gave us care and the true warmth of the South...simply wonderful people. ..Thank you for Cuore and the whole Company of the Pets

Nieves is a truly lovely host who went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Her recommendations were invaluable and it was a genuine pleasure to meet her and her family. The house is beautiful with plenty of space, comfy bedrooms and everything you could possibly need. The large open terraces and pool surrounding the house make it a great place for socialising as a large group whilst enjoying the peace of its spectacular surroundings. It is easy to access and nearby the historic city of Lecce with all it has to offer including stunning baroque architecture and some great bars and restaurants. We will be back! We had a wonderful week at the house. We traveled with a toddler and the hosts were so considerate babyproofing everything. The view is just like out of a movie and the garden is breathtaking. Our absolute highlight was the outdoor kitchen. We will be back for sure!

Wonderful hosts very warm and friendly . Antonio and Claudio are a delight. Very comfortable house with magnificent gardens and great swimming pool. Any easy 20min drive to gorgeous Lecce and close by to lots of other parts of Salento. A magical oasis in which to relax between adventures! Handy restaurant next door at the Agritourismo.

With its glass doors the house has an amazing view over the marina of Castro. The house was perfect for us and our baby and we’ve had an amazing stay here! The house lies perfectly between the old town up the hill and the marina down below. Here you can have a dive in the beautiful azzurro sea or buy a gelato in the beautiful coffee shop. We’ve had everything we wished for!

The location is stunning. The sounds of the sea are gorgeous and the colour of the water is beautiful. Mauro is a wonderful host and it didn't matter that he spoke no English and we spoke no Italian, Google translate was fine. We didn't have a car and in hindsight this was an error and the villa is not particularly close to amenities and requires walking along a road without pavement or across a rocky beach to get to restaurants and the local supermarket. Also with a car, we would have been able to visit more of the beautiful local towns and villages. If you are looking for a peaceful break from a busy life, this is the perfect spot to stay. We loved Salento and hope to revisit. Thank you, Mauro.

Great weeks stay. Manuela was always very responsive host and any minor issues resolved quickly. The villa is a little way out of Town so You need a car. The upside is that’s it’s very peaceful and private. Casarano has some nice restaurants - our favourite was san Lorenzo Pizzeria for eat in or take out. Also ate in the other towns around Would happily return

Arturo is responsive and knows the area well. He recommended and reserved great restaurants, and spots at a beach club in the nearby town. He clued us into the best gelato in Italy, and arranged for bike rentals to be delivered and taken from the house. With an assisted bike it is easy to visit nearby beaches and towns, but in general you will need a car in Salento. The house is spacious, and air conditioning in the rooms is great (note the common areas are not air conditioned but can have great airflow). We had five kids with us, and it was a bit nerve wracking with all of the art and glass around, but we managed to survive. There are two rooms on ground level, good for the elderly. The rest of the house is accessible by a steep set of stairs. The pool was lovely and maintained each morning. The house is near the center of Vitigliano which is a quaint sleepy town off the beaten path, but seaside towns of Castro and Santa Cesarea Terme are a short drive away.
