Cabin holiday rentals in Channel Islands of California

Finding a rental in this area of Los Angeles is very rare. It’s near where my daughter and her family live so we could walk there every day without having to hire an Uber or Lyft. Plus the area is quiet and felt very safe. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice quiet spot. It’s surrounded by houses but the unit still felt private. There was an issue with the hot tub when I arrived but the owner was quick to respond and took care of it right away. Would definitely recommend!

Paul was a wonderful host. Very responsive and helpful. He had the spa already heated and ready for us to enjoy! He allowed us to pick avocados on his property and had some lemons in the kitchen from his trees as well. He even recommended an excellent foreign film that we never would have discovered without him. We had a restful and relaxing stay. Such a great way to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. We went horseback riding with the company down the road from his home and enjoyed having a glass of wine on the deck listening to the footfalls of deer in the trees below and looking up at the stunning star-show. What a cool place! Kagel Canyon is so close, yet feels world's away from the frantic pace of LA. The house is great - and you quickly get used to the canyon's winding roads to a parking spot right at the gate to the property. Host Vic is very responsive - when we had one issue the first evening, he was there in less than 10 minutes to correct it. He and his co-host are dedicated to making improvements to create a perfect guest experience - even brought over a new table & chairs for the patio while we were there. Kagel Canyon may be further away from downtown LA & Hollywood, but has a similar vibe to Laurel and Topanga canyons, legendary hangouts of the late 60's. Quirky and interesting homes amongst the giant trees - fun to stroll the streets even if there's alot of up and down hiking. Especially enjoyed hiking up the trail from nearby Veranda Dr. - 360° views down into the canyon and into the mountains. Very quickly felt at home - a perfect respite from a very busy city. 5 stars!

If you live in LA and looking to get out of the hustle and bustle without going far, this is perfect location. Not even an hour from me and it felt like i was in a different country. Very romantic and peaceful. There is no TV which is supposed to be the point, but at the end of it I was watching a movie on my laptop on the beyond cozy bed. The cedar hot tub was beyond amazing also. Late night I was worried about getting Postmates, but there were so many places that delivered there (we had to drive down to the main gate to meet the driver, which was its own good time also. So no complaints) Highly recommend this to anyone

Such a unique and wonderful experience! I was amazed at how comfortable the bed was. The Cedar hot tub was the highlight of my stay. Sitting on the deck at night looking up at the stars was just so peaceful. I loved everything about Ardie’s place.

Off the beaten path cottage that truly feels like another world. When you walk in, you feel right at home.

My partner and I came up for the weekend and absolutely loved this getaway. Tatyana’s spot was so cozy and peaceful. It was nice to disconnect and be with nature for the weekend. We stayed only for one night but definitely would love to go back for an entire weekend. The bed was very comfy and the shower was AMAZING.

It was a pleasure staying in Parvin’s eco cottage. It had everything I needed and more! Most importantly, it was in a safe and quiet place. I was a solo female traveler and never once felt unsafe. Parvin, the host, was an absolute pleasure to interact with. She was kind, caring, and made me feel right at home! The location was perfect for what I needed. A quiet neighborhood that was two min from the freeway and 10 min from the beautiful beach. Parking was never an issue. I look forward to my return trip in the future! Thanks Parvin :)

We had a great stay. Very clean, comfortable. Therese was a great host. Always asking if everything was alright or if we needed anything. We enjoyed our stay!!

The cabin is spacious and very comfortable. The location is very out of the way and super quiet. There is a lot of interesting bird life including Acorn Woodpeckers who have been storing their acorns in the cabin walls! The kitchen is well equipped with the exception of a few essentials - limited crockery / glassware. The beds were very comfortable and the wifi fast. We would have loved to light to fire - situated in a stunning fireplace but it was just too warm! We stayed over Christmas & found John’s cabin excellent value for money.

this boat was awesome to stay on. great view great everything! the neighbor was really cool too. me and my buddy will definitely rent again!

My only regret is that I didn’t stay another day. This place is so serene- you can really step out of the hustle and soak in nature and the quiet. Love the hammock and all the places to sit. Watching the moon cross the sky from the windows around the bed- a true treehouse experience.

Emil’s place was great …as described or reflected on the website photos ….easy check-in, very responsive to all my questions and texts. I would recommend anyone to stay here. It was great.

A unique space in a great location!

Wonderful experience. Fabulous place. Vincent and his family are a pleasure, and the room, full of sweet and interesting items, colorful, with a great bed, is on a gorgeous terrace with lush and planted huge cactus bougainvillea and agave. Great place.

Jesus’s home was very clean and updated with beautiful modern farm house touches! So much thoughtfulness went into their welcome basket, to baking supplies, fully stocked coffee bar, variety of fun complimentary snack cupboard, and lavender soaking tub supplies! Property was very private and quiet with lots of outdoor seating along with a big Santa Maria charcoal grill. Definitely would recommend 100%

Wonderful wonderful wonderful experience! I stayed here after driving cross country from Atlanta and was totally taken by surprise how lovely this place was. Lisa was an absolute goddess of a host and I feel thankful to have met her. The space feels quite “off the grid” though it isn’t far from PCH and other access points. The trailer is definitely rustic (very cold some nights but all the more reason to bundle up!) but quite charming and super inviting once you get settled in. Honestly this is the condensed version of my experience but if you are feeling drawn to this place for whatever reason… book it! Thank you Lisa and Cross Bull Ranch for making me feel at home and for being such a beautiful space. Aho!

This stay was one of the most peaceful stays I’ve been on! You can hear the birds and fountain in the morning. There’s a cute cafe we got to go to, as well. The location is very beautiful with all the greenery. The place was just as described and John was very helpful and kind to us.
