Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Chard

Having grown up in the area, Kennel Farm is the place we choose to come back for our family holiday every year. We love the house and surroundings. Excellent location and Tanya is a perfect host. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time at Brookside Farm - Swallow's Return was even nicer than we'd been expecting, with stunning views across the Dorset countryside and everything we needed for a few days of rest. The place was easy to find with the directions provided and we were given a very warm and friendly welcome by Charlotte, Jonni, Stanley and Maurice. They left plenty of local tips and suggestions for us in the apartment, which we made use of. The highlights for us were being given the chance to feed and learn more about their beautiful alpacas, eating out on the terrace in the evening at sunset and enjoying the sound of the brook that runs along the bottom of the farm. If you're looking to disconnect for a few days in a beautiful place surrounded by nature, we'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

An absolute gem. Such a beautiful place, even better than the photos. The garden is gorgeous with comfy seats. It is fully dog-proof (if you have a small dog there is one stretch under a trellis they could get out, but my spaniel couldn’t). The whole interior is lovely and well equipped. The shower is lush. Wonderful dog walks within walking distance of the house (you can see them on the footpaths map online) and at the coast a short drive away.

Had a great time staying here with all the family, the house is so close to the beach it was perfect for us! Was such an easy and chill stay with a surprise hamper full of goodies when we arrived. Would love to stay here again and Tristan was super helpful with recommendations and extra info!

My friends and I enjoyed our beautiful and quiet girls weekend away. The lodge is exactly how it’s described and looked like the pictures, very comfortable and clean stay, the hot tub is incredible. On a cloudless night you can sit back in the tub and see how clear the stars are. Lisa is a wonderful host who greeted us when we arrived to show us how to use the hot tub and gave some locations to visit. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, away from the everyday hustle and bustle of city life, recharge your energy, you need a stay here. We visited Wincanton, Sherborne and Glastonbury during our two night stay. An absolute gem of a find, friends and I would love to book again next year for a few more days, absolutely breathtaking scenery for an amazing price.

A cosy , peaceful place. Not at all intrusive from the owners, but very responsive if anything was needed.

The Apple press was exactly what myself and my best friend needed. A quiet break away to rest and relax was ordered and received. The accommodation was comfortable, inviting and had everything we needed. Comfortable beds to feel well rested. Clean bathroom and kitchen with essentials available to use. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended ☺️

One of the best Airbnbs we’ve stayed at. Dianne and Stephen were responsive and so welcoming to their beautiful home. The space was comfortable and clean and lovely and light. Our little private decking area was perfect for the children and the dog and had beautiful, peaceful views over the garden. Having access to the pool was amazing, even on a cloudy day we spent a lot of time in there with the children as it was lovely and warm. The garden is beautiful and it was nice to be able to wonder around.

Wow wow wow! Headland hideaway is stunning! Absolutely gorgeous, Mike was amazing!!! Messaged every day to check all is okay, send photos of the signpost where to turn and exactly where to park etc. his food recommendation were helpful and stop on! Tried lots and all were amazing! The pool was the biggest hit and we were so lucky when we stayed we had amazing weather! Everything was spotless and modern, loved the remote control curtains! A fabulous half term dreamy weekend! We got to the Wales Retreat and from the moment we walked in we flet so at home with the cosy features. The property smelt beautiful all throughout. Everything was spotless and even the fridge was equipped with essentials which was greatly recieved. The loaction is absolutely beautiful and I was in love with our own secluded private decking area with the most comfiest beanbag seats! Pet friendly which was a bonus for our GSP - she loved having a little area outside of her own and tje site was very welcoming to dogs. We will really be booking in again although we sre struggling to find your availability! 🙂

We spent the half term break at Little Burston with our two young children, we had a wonderful time. The accommodation was everything we hoped from the previous brilliant reviews and more. A clean, bright and large space. Well equipped with everything you could want (games, DVD’s, kitchen utensils). A tranquil and peaceful setting not far away from Dulverton and within striking distance of lots of activities. The hot tub kept the adults happy and the kids loved the garden, trampoline and games of football. Carol was a great host, instructions left at the property were clear and easy. Walking recommendations all great. Goats and chickens out of the kitchen window was a highlight for the kids. Up there with the best Airbnb’s we’ve been to in the UK. We would not hesitate to return, if visiting North Devon again and couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.

A great place to stay for families and groups. Super quick responses, loads of info provided in advance and useful links to places in the area. Lovely house and so much to offer for the young and old - our group ranged from 5 years old to retirees and we all had a fab time. Everything was lovely and clean and well maintained. Would happily go back. Thank you!

My friends and I stayed at Louise’s place for a long weekend, and it was a wonderful time. The house fit 11 adults no problem. Lovely and quiet, the pool was so much fun, and we made good use of the fire pit to have s’mores. Harry gave us a tour of the dairy farm & beehives, & let us see the calves which was lovely. Louise was a fab host, very good communicator and always at hand if needed. Great stay overall!

This is our first Airbnb stay, also our first stay taking our dog. Having read and turned down a number of other Airbnb places the ducks wing seemed to fit the bill (no pun intended). The garden is lovely and secure, the rooms are extremely quirky which we both liked, our dog loved it. We didn't make best use of the many facilities including the pool, BBQ etc. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden listening to the countryside. As I've said our first experience with Airbnb but we were very impressed.

Iveta was a fantastic host and everyone we met at Timbercombe was incredibly friendly. The lodge is super cosy and perfect in every way. All of our expectations were exceeded! Amazing hot tub, squeaky clean accommodation and mega comfy. We walked miles with our dog every day, leaving completely refreshed. Thanks so much!

Had a wonderful solo stay with my dog at Dawn’s place. The cottage was cozy, quiet, and perfect for unwinding. Great local walks right from the door, a friendly dog-welcoming pub nearby, and a real sense of peace. Felt safe and relaxed the whole time —would absolutely return. Thanks for having us Dawn!

What a fabulous stay, couldn't have asked for better. Such a tranquil village and the cottage was idyllic, hearing the birds and church bells and nothing more. Just what we needed. The garden was perfect for our little girl and the dog to play football and had all you need to eat nicely alfresco, as the kitchen opens out. The pub is quite something, a truly quaint village pub and we had a lovely meal there one night. Def recommend. Alison was a lovely and helpful host and had all the information we needed. Thank you for letting us stay to unwind, we will be back. Just wonderful!

Wonderful half term stay at little Gem Cottage. We used it as a base to explore Dorset, Somerset and even drove through Devon. It is well equipped for a baby with a lovely clean highchair. The kitchen was light and well stocked, we cooked every night.

The setting was absolutely beautiful and the hut was very well presented! Great suggestions for places to eat from Danette and the views and sounds from the hut of the countryside are unbeatable! We watched a barn owl from the hut on both nights we stayed!

Beautiful setting and a beautifully built log cabin. Peaceful and tranquil. Well worth the money and we will return in the future. Visitors need to visit the anchor inn in seatown for lovely food and drinks

This is a cosy and charming property, which is tastefully furnished and contained everything you could possibly need (including delicious flapjack!). The area is rural, and perfect for complete rest and relaxation. Melanie was a perfect host - very friendly, relaxed and helpful. We would love to stay here again.

We had the most wonderful stay, the place is absolutely stunning, peaceful and tranquil. Mary is a fantastic host, she has really thought of every little detail, we felt really welcome. We loved spending time in the hot tub admiring the stunning walled garden. The sound of the church bells was joyous. Mary was so accommodating and the instructions and information provided were super helpful. Thanks Mary, we will certainly be back to visit again in the future!
