Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Chincoteague

The Shell Hunter was perfect for our family of 4's fourth summer vacationing on Chincoteague. Janel's instructions for check in were clear, and everything was exactly as shown/described in the listing. The location was perfect, tucked away but still walkable to the main drag. The house itself was ideal for my wife and I and our two young children, with a great king bed upstairs and two additional private rooms downstairs. There were plenty of dishes/cookware in the spacious kitchen and we especially loved the two porches (front and back) and the outdoor shower so we didn't have to track beach sand into the house. We've stayed in a different vacation home on each of our visits to the island, but this one may have to become a repeat!

This was our second stay at the Magnolia house! It’s a charming place with tons of character! Comfortable furniture and very clean. Great kitchen and the rain shower bathroom is amazing. Great outdoor space and convenient parking area. Lots of walkable fun things to do. Great restaurants, shopping and we even caught the local farmers market with locally made crafts, fresh produce and seafood! The beach is a short drive and saw the wild ponies on our way into the park! It was a wonderful experience! We look forward to our next trip!

This place had a great location; it was less than 10 minutes for the local restaurants and only a 15 drive to the beach. The kitchen had everything you needed, there was plenty of space for atleast 6 people (even though there was just the two of us). The airbnb itself was really charming. Host was amazing, really responsive and communicative. Their checkin and checkout procedures were really clear. My only “asterisk” is that since it is an older house and in the middle of a marshland basically, it was pretty humid inside. It seems normal for the area especially considering it was raining half of our stay. The AC boxes in every room definitely helped but just something to note about our stay. I’d recommend a dehumidifier to the hosts. Overall a great stay, would recommend this place to all when staying in Chincoteague!!

Great spot for a mother/daughters retreat. We enjoyed the cozy and cute decor and each having our own space in the Seaside Cottage. Also, the kitchen was will equipped and we made several meals together as a family. Just a short drive to everything on the island and super close to water and the Misty Pasture. Kathleen was a wonderful host— responsive and proactive throughout our stay. We had a wonderful visit!

I highly recommend this place!! The house was newly remodeled, very clean, had nice decor and furnishings and most of all felt like home. The hosts were wonderful to deal with and very accommodating!! Thanks for a wonderful place to stay during our family vacation ❤️

The Haven was truly a gem. It was so private and secluded- just what we needed to relax and reset. Ashley was so friendly and provided so many helpful accommodations that you’d typically not find elsewhere, such as complimentary coffee and a stocked s'mores station. Collectively, I think my family most enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle boards to explore the bay everyday. The kids absolutely loved hunting for wildlife around the house and pond. I’ll never forget this trip!

the place was beautiful and felt very cozy! It was a very short drive to and from the beach as well with plenty of things to do nearby!

We had an amazing weekend at Kevin’s place. Walkable to great restaurants and shops. Beautiful bay-view from the front deck. House was spotless. It was a quiet and peaceful setting. Even deer visiting at night. Would def stay there again.

We were short notice but the place was great. We enjoyed the relaxation time. Glenn & Susan are the perfect host. Fantastic community.

This was a lovely place to stay! Brianna was very communicative and the place was very clean and pleasant to stay in when we arrived.

Good place, nice and clean, well maintained as Airbnb type, freshly colored, several things to make place beautiful. Everything was there as described no surprises. I didn’t have to ask for anything during my stay, that made stay so much smooth.

Condo was exactly as described! Amazing oceanfront view! I was also impressed with how much room there was. It was cruiser week so it was a tad bit noisy at night, but other than that and the fact we couldn’t stay longer, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay!

Had an amazing time at this beautiful beachfront Airbnb. The location couldn’t have been better, literally steps from the sand with stunning ocean views right from the balcony. The space was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The host was friendly, responsive, and made check-in a breeze. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to unwind by the water.

This place was so clean and comfortable. The deck was very quiet and private. The entire place was very accommodating. The beds were so comfy that it was hard to get motivated in the mornings….lol. The local Rise Up coffee was a special touch. It is one of my favorite places to get coffee when I’m in the Cambridge area. I had two other quest with me and they too agree that the place was delightful. The steps going up to the apartment were a bit difficult for my 77 year old mother but other than that we had a wonderful visit. I would highly recommend Kara’s place. Thank you again!

Donna & Neal’s “sweet suite” was absolutely PERFECT! Beautifully decorated to every detail to make you feel relaxed, cozy & at home! Donna was great at communicating check-in details & any other info or suggestions we may need. We were able to meet Donna & Neal, they are the most kind & sweet people! The suite was VERY clean & free of any chemical cleaner smell like another review mentioned & I really appreciated that. We loved all the treats, fresh flowers & special touches just for us & to feel so welcomed in their lovely town of Frankford. The bed was super comfy, kitchen area had everything you would need, bathroom & shower was AMAZING! This was a last minute getaway for us so we feel so fortunate to have found such a beautiful place to stay! The only Airbnb in the area that met all our needs & wants! We will 100% return again & recommending the “sweetest suite” to all our family & friends! Truly believe this trip was meant to be & our paths were meant to cross w/Donna & Neal!

I had such a wonderful experience at this Airbnb! From the moment I walked in, I could tell how much care and attention went into the space. It was spotlessly clean, with everything neatly arranged and thoughtfully stocked. The homey touches made it feel warm and inviting. The neighborhood was incredibly peaceful and quiet. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, cozy, and tranquil place to unwind!

This was a great find! We had so much fun, the location was perfect, and the house was just as described. Benjamin responded quickly and was very helpful with check in/check out. I highly recommend this spot!

Michelle was very responsive and offered some good restaurant recommendations. There was an emergency for her cleaning staff, so they weren’t able to complete a task, so Michelle generously offered a small rebate, which was done very quickly. The condo was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything you needed. She included some paper products, which was helpful and appreciated. She even had ice cubes and a container of filtered water in the refrigerator. The king size bed was soft (but not too soft) and comfortable. If the living room furniture was more comfortable, it would have been even better. The balcony has very nice & comfortable furniture, and we spent plenty of time out there, overlooking the beach. Access to the beach was literally steps away, which was great. Although we brought our own beach chairs/umbrella, they had some stored out on the deck. Access to plenty of restaurants and shopping. Great condo & location overall.

Really enjoyed our stay at Stephanie's. Awesome condo that was clean, comfortable and roomy. Wonderful views from Living Room, Balcony and Master Bedroom. Close enough to the water to hear the waves breaking. Plenty of restaurants and shops close by. Definitely hope to be back!

Bryan is super responsive and easy to communicate with. He notified us of detailed check in and check out instructions. He then checked in on us towards the end of the trip to make sure all of our expectations were met; to which they were. This condo is exactly as described in the listing and pictures. It’s clean and cozy. The view from the bedroom is unmatched. The location is perfect in a sense that it’s not too close to the boardwalk, making the area a little more quiet, but also within 10 mins to the best restaurants and bars. The staff at the condo and even other guests were friendly and courteous. If you’re afraid of heights, this might not be the best place to stay for you, but as I previously mentioned, the view from the master bedroom can’t be beat. That view alone, would have us stay again. I would definitely recommend this stay to others.

This is my second stay here and I love it! I will definitely be back. The first visit we got engaged on the beach right in front of the condo so we plan on staying at least once a year as long as Brooke has it on Airbnb. Lots of things within walking distance; grocery store, Wawa, CVS, restaurants, icecream, beach stores, mini golf, etc. I highly recommend staying here, the view is worth every penny and so relaxing.

Would definitely stay again. Wonderful place for our anniversary.
