Your stay at Red Cottage will be comfortable, easily accessible, and minutes away from Canton, Waynesville, and Maggie Valley. The circa 1950’s Cottage is fully renovated inside and out. Beautiful front porch and lovely sitting area in the rear of the Cottage. We are climate controlled with a mini split HVAC to keep you toasty warm in spring, fall, and winter and comfortably cool in the summer. Internet access and TVs in the living room and master bedroom. This small cabin is close to hiking and mountain biking trails, waterfalls and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is 30 minutes from the eclectic Asheville or 15 minutes from laid back Waynesville.

The Water Wheel is our place to unplug and detox from the hustle and bustle of life. When we are not here enjoying this space we want to share it with you. Imagine yourself lounging by our fire pit with a local brew or taking in the mountain views from the hot tub then creating an amazing meal. Detox in our cedar sauna after a long hike. Or if you are exploring the area then it is the perfect home base for adventures in the mountains or to Asheville for breweries, dining or shopping.

Bring your Motorcycles as the cabin is located a couple of minutes from the Rattler. Experience hiking, skiing, shops, breweries, white water rafting and more all within a short drive.

We are located a short distance to Maggie Valley, Waynesville, The Smoky Mountain National Park and Cherokee. Mountain Retreat 20 minutes from AVL

Your stay supports our nonprofit animal rescue Misfit Mountain which is located at a separate location. The space is a bottom (pet friendly) apartment of an A-Frame cabin. We live on the top part of the cabin with our dogs who will bark at you when you come and go (security). You may hear some light treading above when our pups are using the potty. Guests will have access to their apartment with a separate entrance as well a separate deck for their stay.
