Very comfortable and well-equipped cottage, perfect for a quiet break. Set in a very nice garden, a short walk from the sea and with cycle routes directly into the forest. Host was very friendly and helpful, we had an excellent time.

A fantastic place to stay… off the beaten track in and amongst the trees surrounded by nature. Very private! The lodge is well equipped, comfortable, warm and with spectacular gardens. We had a lovely long weekend and even saw a red squirrel a few times doing a nut run. Recommend others going to the Butchers and Fishmongers in Kirkcudbright to stock up. Fantastic produce and a great price! Please note the Sat Nav does NOT take you to the right place so follow the detailed instructions (including photos). You can walk from the Lodge to Rockcliffe and Kippford through the forest which is a stunning walk (perfect for dogs off lead) and takes about 30/40 minutes. Bring your own dishwasher tablets, oil and everything else you might need to cook with.

We were totally impressed by the welcoming atmosphere at Foxbrae - spotlessly clean, nice & warm after chilly rain outside, fresh milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, cooking oil, etc all to hand (and they often aren't). View from the upstairs sitting room over the estuary is fab, especially when there were occasional patches of sunshine. We had a great couple of days, thank you \^*^/

Cosy cottage was listed as dog friendly and indeed IT WAS !. I can’t explain how many self catering establishments say dog friendly and when you arrive it’s nothing like dog friendly. The garden is completely enclosed by secure fencing…which meant we could leave the doors open for the dogs to pop in and out. It was a delight to find an outdoor tap to wash mucky feet before entering the cottage. We all had a great and relaxing holiday would we book it again in a heart beat.
