Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Comal County

We had a great time and will be back!

We stayed at this wonderful home for three days. It was just as described in the listing and photos! The home was perfect for our sisters’ weekend. We had three adults and really enjoyed the large sofa to catch up and play games. We used the kitchen to prepare every meal and had so much fun in the game room. The surroundings are beautiful and quiet. We used the fire pit and saw several deer during our visit. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great. Our host was responsive and it was easy to check in and out. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a truly lovely place, near enough to Wimberley but isolated enough that you feel away from it all. It's exactly what we were looking for and I expect we'll return!

Very beautiful and peaceful place. Nice place to get away or for a retreat. The house is absolutely stunning and they have everything you need. From the balcony, camping fire, and the outdoor views. Would love to come back. Our hosts were very responsive as well. Only con, not many restaurants close by so you may want to do a grocery stop so you don’t have to drive 30 mins for food.

My family and I enjoyed our stay! The location was great and house was exactly as pictured and described! This was perfect space to enjoy the lake for a long weekend!

Place was great for a fair group of people plus two large dogs, everyone had space and it’s very close to a lot of things!

Came here with a group of 9 and we felt right at home. Laura had thought of everything and we did not go without! The views were amazing and the beds were very comfortable. Great location if you're looking to go tubing or to Canyon Lake. Laura was also super responsive and attentive to our needs. Only complaint is that our vacation wasn't long enough! Will absolutely be back again!

Everything was clean, nice and the communication from the host was amazing and timely.

Beautiful and peaceful spot that feels very removed from Wimberley while still being 5 min from town. Terry was very communicative and helpful from the time we booked and through our stay. We would happily stay here again.

We have stayed in dozens of home. This ranks up there in the top 5, but the host is #1. What set him above the rest? I asked for an early check in. He said he would need to get back to me as the previous guest will be checking out the morning we are arriving. He advised that he put a reminder in his phone. Friday morning arrived and I didn’t need to follow up with him, he followed up with me just as he said he would do. That kind of follow through is HUGE! I am very happy with Jay! The place was immaculate, penthouse decor. Picture perfect!

Highly recommend. Peaceful and serene. Beautiful space. Loved the front porch with rockers and a table and chairs. High ceilings, nice interior and very comfortable beds. Loved the friendly cats. Hope we will be fortunate enough to visit again. Hosts were very helpful, warm, and gracious. Thanks for letting us stay in your cottage.

We loved the location. Very close to Gruene Hall. The pool at the apartment was excellent. It was an added perk we didn’t realize was there!! Also, not a bunch of “to-dos” as we were leaving. Of course, we made sure and took very good care of the place and all of our trash was in the trashcan and we didn’t make any big messes at all…. But we didn’t have a list of things to do, to take all of the trash out to a dumpster, strip all of the bedding and put them and the towels in the laundry room or all of those things that are time consuming and frustrating when you’re already paying for a place and a cleaning fee. I would definitely stay again.

Place was amazing! Exactly as described. Right on the water so super easy to hang out in the river. Johnny was super responsive and flexible with some of our requests. The apartment is big and perfect for a weekend getaway. Would definitely stay here again!

Very Blessed to have a place to lay my head. Hosts are receptive and respect privacy. NO WiFI / NOR CABLE. I put it in caps due to the fact that I missed it in the trip details ( it does state). I needed WIFI for business, otherwise great if someone was on VACA. I was however not on VACA. Host was accommodating and offered their back patio to use WIFI and approved a gracious late check out She also provided coupons to fairview coffeeshop ( I forgot;((). Oh well next guest can enjoy..

My husband and I stayed at this home for 2 months. We both work remotely and had no issues with the internet during our stay. The place is well stocked for long stays. The patio space, especially the hot tub, is nice for relaxing. The neighborhood is very quiet The location is a good 20-30 minutes from New Braunfels where you’ll find many restaurants and stores. We would definitely stay here again.

Karen was very sweet and easy to work with. The cabin location was the perfect distance to the chandelier wedding venue!! I would recommend this cabin to anyone!

This is our second stay at The Moonshiner and it has, again, been a pleasant retreat. The hot tub was clean and operated fine, they left us supplies for the fire pit (though, regrettably, we didn't light the pit,) and some champagne for our anniversary! Very cool and thoughtful. There were deer feeding in the wild right beside our front door as it is private and quiet, away from neighbors and the busy road. Also, the decor and vibe of the place is fun and unique! Nice and peaceful house to stay in. My husband myself and 6 year old grandson stayed in this home. Nice to have a paddle board and tubes at the house to float on. Very nice yard , loved that you can walk right down to the creek from the back yard. My grandson caught a few fish and enjoyed releasing them back into the water. We will definitely rent this property again. Perfect location. Thank you.

We absolutely loved our stay at Maria’s place, everything was perfect and the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful and always available for queries. The view is outstanding, the cabin is beautiful, clean, cosy, and beds / linen so clean and comfortable. We even had wildlife 🦌 approach the cabin ❤️ Will certainly be back x Only thing (outwith Maria’s control) to note is that we did struggle to get Ubers to the square, we all just squeezed in 1 car and I drove, not a big issue but just if you want to be in and out of the square / town.

If you enjoy peace and quiet this is the place ! I could sit on the porch and watch the humming birds for hours. The property is beautiful and Brigitte & Shawn are wonderful host. We will definitely be coming back to visit.

Linda was an amazing host. She answered all our questions immediately and was always accommodating if we needed anything. The home was an incredible place to stay. Where else can you walk out onto the porch with your morning coffee, and watch Texas Longhorns? We saw foxes, deer, and lot of birds. If you love nature, and being someplace peaceful, you need to do yourself a favor, and book this place! Oh, and in case you are wondering, the internet is great. I work remotely and had no issues with working, or streaming entertainment. I spent most my time outside during my workday, looking at all the wildlife, while my colleagues were surrounded by 4 walls, and very jealous :)

My family and I loved staying at this cozy home nestled into the beautiful nature of the Texas Hill Country. Pulling in felt like arriving at a private resort, and we all enjoyed sitting on the rocking chairs on the deck to watch the stunning sunset. Our kids loved playing in the perfect sized pool, and the adults loved the experience of relaxing in the sauna while listening to the birds sing outside. The retro arcade cabinet was a huge hit with the kids (and with me, I’ll admit), and we enjoyed watching a family movie on the projector screen upstairs (the kids felt like they were in a private movie theatre). Maria and Larry are incredibly welcoming and proactive hosts; if you need anything at all, they won’t hesitate to help. I could not recommend this place higher, and we definitely will be coming back!

This was exactly what we wanted for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon. We wanted quiet seclusion to focus on each other and this cute little cabin was PERFECT!
