Such a lovely place to stay in the Lakes. The views are incredible and the hut is really cosy. Although it’s small it’s really well set out for one or two people to stay. I wish we could have stayed for longer!

We had a great time staying here. The home is private and easy to find. The interiors are well designed and the entire building was warm and cozy for us. We loved the downstairs open kitchen dining area with plenty of worktop space and a great SMEG hob/oven. You can look out any window in the building and get fantastic views. The working fireplaces add that extra homely feel. The laundry allowed us to pack light and leave with fresh clothes! Highly reccomended.

Over the years we have stayed at quite a few AirBnBs and this has got to be one of the best. Seemingly everything had been thought through. Everything worked and there weren't any issues. Parking was okay for our two cars. Would definitely look to stay here again as the house easily held the 6 adults and 3 year old.

Superhost doesn't capture it. It was such a pleasure to stay at The Byre and lovely to meet Victoria. We can clearly say it was the best Air BnB experience we've ever had. Such care must have gone into the renovation and furnishing of the property, from the large airy upstairs kitchen/diner/living room to the handcrafted live edge furniture. The location in Matterdale End was beautiful. We were even able to go fellwalking directly from the house - just a few feet up to the church, then left onto the public footpath and on up to the top of Sheffield Pike and many more summits from there. We can recommend this Air BnB venue wholeheartedly. Thank you Victoria and Jim!
