Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Downers Grove

One of the best Airbnb stays and certainly the best in the Chicago suburbs I have stayed at. When I booked Enis’ home there were no reviews but the photos and value could not be passed up. His place was just as advertised and we had a great stay. Importantly, many Airbnb’s are not as clean as my standards and I have to clean things more upon arrival but that was NOT the case here. I could relax seeing that everything was thoroughly cleaned. Spacious bedrooms, although we only needed 2 of the 4 rooms. Cozy living room sectional. Modern sleek kitchen. 2.5 baths. The espresso maker was awesome! Location is quiet and peaceful but also near all you would need. We would absolutely stay again!!!

Cristina’s place was exactly as advertised. More than enough for a family of 6 and close to everything that a family needs. The “great western trail” that’s just around the corner was a highlight for a runner. We would definitely recommend this home.

Taylor's place was very nice; she really thought of everything. Everything you could need was there; Taylor makes you feel right at home. The neighborhood is nice and you're close to a number of things. Oh and the shower pressure was great!

What a gem! Beautiful, secluded house with a large backyard, a pond, a tree house, and a fire pit were a dream come true for our family's weekend getaway from our daily busy city lives. We'd all love to come back one day. We spent a lot of time in the backyard, but also visited the neighboring Kline Creek Farm as recommended by the hosts and went for a walk at the Red Oak Nature Center to dip our feet in the Fox River. Daughter's wedding in Naperville! Great weekend and the Nest was the perfect place to base out of for all of the festivities we attended. Precious little house and backyard which we enjoyed staying in with our fur babies. Thank you and we will definitely stay at Liz's place the next time we need to visit Naperville. : )

My colleagues and I really enjoyed this apartment. It was very clean and was set up for the needs of a traveller. We were allowed to check in early which was much appreciated. If we are ever in the area again we would stay here, no doubt. Thank you!!!

Absolutely amazing place. If you like Victorian houses, this is for you. Spacious and beautiful with a large kitchen. Gas stove so you can cook and not swear! Easy access to Elgin and the train station. Parking behind the house on the property. It’s cool and comfortable (we went in June) with plenty of fans for air movement.

Ericka is a fantastically thoughtful host! After a long day of travel, she had welcoming gifts in the fridge! Very helpful with any and all questions, the place was just exactly what we needed! Not far at all from the train station either! I’d stay here again for sure! Thank you!

5 star for sure! This place is a hidden gem, its so clean and has so many little extras to make you feel at home. I found seasoning to cook with,.coffee, tea, cream and sugar..and even a couple of pods for laundry. All of that plus an easy check-in, great parking space in the back (which you will need since street parking can be dicey) and the friendly neighbors made my stay wonderful. I stayed 7 nights and it is quiet at night so I felt very safe and got a good nights rest each night. I will definitely book again!!!

We loved our stay. Not a far drive from downtown Chicago but far enough out of the city that you can escape the chaos. Would definitely stay again.

It was actually pretty nice and it felt very comfortable and soothing. I loved the kitchen when I saw it. And the bed was very comfortable. i was able to get a nice sleep.

Place was centrally located with lots to do in walking distance for food and entertainment. We could walk to the venue where we saw our live music. The host is very kind and had a lot of information about the area to share with us. We felt very safe the house was peaceful very clean. The outdoor garden area is really pretty too. We definitely wanna stay here the next time we’re up for a show.

Zirrell was a wonderful host. She always responded and her instructions were very thorough. She was also very understanding when our flight got delayed and we checked in later than expected. The apartment was clean and looked just like the pictures. It was a wonderful stay!

We had a great time here. The place is really cozy and located in a nice neighborhood with plenty of stuff in walking distance. Totally worth it.

Anne is a great host. Very responsive. The home is in a beautiful neighborhood nice and quiet with easy access to the city. And within walking distance of great restaurants. I would definitely recommend friends and family to stay here.

The time spent here was wonderful. This place has everything you need to feel at home away from home. Everything was clean and comfortable. The area was also really nice with tons of food and drinks within walking distance. The blue line is a short walk away and the busses run on the corner. I would definitely stay here again when coming back to Chicago.

The apartment was clean and spatious, better than in the pictures. It's located in a corner of Hyde Park, at a 15 minute walking distance from the University of Chicago. It is a very residential area, with not many shops or restaurants near by, but if you walk 15 minutes east you will find bars, grocery stores and a few restaurants. I came to do research in the library's archive so it was very convenient. I had some problems with the door code sequence, but Erika was very helpful and responsive. My only suggestion is that more detailed information about the check in is provided, because not everbody is familiarized with lockers and codes! But my general impression was very positive! I'd definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Michelle's place for a long weekend girls trip. The building was secure, quiet and clean. We enjoyed the shared pool, deck, and lounge spaces. I appreciated the secure parking for our vehicle, this was a great bonus. Michelle was easy to communicate with and always prompt to respond. I would recommend Michelle's place to anyone visiting Chicago & the surrounding area.
