Monthly Rentals in Drapanos

My husband and I have only stayed 4 nights at Nikos' Kafenion, but it was a real pleasure. The place is an architectural gem, in an old, charming traditional house, and we were delighted to blend with the local community, even for a few days. We had dinners at a taverna in the village, among locals, kids, cats and dogs, and went for an evening coffee at the coffee place in the vicinity, too. It was our greatest pleasure to enjoy our breakfasts on the terrace, and to spend late evenings there, too. It is a quiet place in a nice village, and that was all that we needed for our vacation. Nikos has a well deserved reputation. He was friendly, helpful, attentive, answered to all our questions, and gave us valuable suggestions, every time. We've rented one of his cars and went to different beaches in the area, and to Kournas Lake. We would love to return to Crete and stay again at Nikos, and we definitely appreciate his hospitality and generosity. Efcharisto poli!

Amazing stay! The house was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed – a lovely pool, a fun game room, and a peaceful location. Great for families! The hosts were kind and responsive. We’d love to come back!

If you are looking for peace and quiet in Crete, you will find it here. Located in a small rural community with views of the mountains, the house is charming, thoughtfully arranged and decorated. It was very clean on arrival. Dimitri is a very responsive host. There was a problem with the toilet when we arrived. One text message to Dimitri, and five minutes later a local guy arrived to fix it. A 5-minute walk will get you to the village which has a popular taverna and small community shop. Almyrida is a ten-minute drive down the hill. The house is part of a small collection of residences, with mostly British neighbours. The communal pool is squeaky clean and the neighbours don't use it much so we had it to ourselves quite a lot. The only thing to be mindful of is that the house has no mosquito screens so if the weather turns humid, it's not comfortable to sit out at night without getting bites. We had to retreat to the house and shut the doors, which was a shame. Loved it, though!

Magali's place is small and nice, we felt very comfortable! The contact was very warm, the communication smooth. We will be happy to come back when the weather is better and then explore the beautiful hiking area :)
