Cabin holiday rentals in Eastern Shore of Virginia

We loved this cabin, and Caleb was such a gracious host! Arriving to a dozen farm fresh eggs was such a treat. We grabbed some bacon (Smithfield brand, of course) at the local Kroger and had eggs and bacon every day of our trip. The cabin is so quite and peaceful. It literally feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, but it's a 5 minute drive to all kinds of shops and activities. The povided kayaks were a major selling point for us. It was a very relaxing and beginner friendly paddle up the creek to the river. We saw all kinds of wildlife including otters playing in the creek! It is true that the hot tub is a little glitchy, but it was plenty warm and didn't impact our enjoyment of it at all. Caleb was kind enough to stack wood in the fire pit for us, making our evening campfire easy and streamline. The cabin is really close to great hiking, boutique and antique shops, the brewery, winery and restaurants. I wish we would have taken him up on the offer to bring our dogs. Next time!

We stayed at Julie’s home with a group of friends and our families and had a wonderful time. The lakefront setting was incredibly relaxing—we found ourselves rarely leaving the property because it had everything we needed. From soaking in the hot tub to enjoying the game room, there was something for everyone. The kids loved having space to run around in the basement, while the adults enjoyed peaceful mornings and evenings on the screened-in porch. Julie was very responsive and answered all of our questions quickly, which made the entire experience seamless. We would absolutely stay here again!

Great place! We really enjoyed all of the outdoor amenities. The kayaks, paddle boards, fishing, hot tub, hammocks were all great. Have two teens who very much enjoyed. Was relaxing but a lot to do there also. Lots of jellyfish so we did not swim at all. Definitely a lot of fish and crabs that can be caught right at the dock. If more serious and knowledgeable about fishing then us, may want to bring extra hooks and tackle box. Definitely some size-able fish. Bait shop in town has a lot of supplies but very limited hours. The house had tons of towels, washcloths, etc. which was nice. Kitchen had oil, spices, plenty of cooking utensils, pots / pans, dinnerware etc. Blackstone was nice. Made it very easy to cook. Very few restaurants open M-F. Of those that were, most closed by about 3. Newsome’s was a great local place for lunch. Crab cakes were outstanding. Definitely would stay again. Had a great time!

Beautiful house and beautiful view. Outdoor jacuzzi with the view is not to be missed! Gorgeous and clean home. The private site made it an amazing getaway from busy life. Thank you, we will be back soon!!!

This place was nothing short of breathtaking, and a perfect location for my solo artist retreat. I essentially lived on the deck for 5 days! The place is right on the beach, and includes at least five different spots to sit and enjoy the surroundings, including several shaded options as well. You can literally lie in bed and watch the most spectacular sunrise you've ever seen, and that is honestly priceless! The home was sparkling clean, and everything was visibly/clearly labeled, including instructions for things like external lights and the awning, etc. Just a short drive to many regional gems, especially if you're interested in marine history etc. What a beautiful home, in a beautiful location! Thank you so much for sharing with others--I'll be back.

I had an amazing experience staying at this property! The home was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with everything I needed. The location was perfect, quiet and peaceful for a great night’s sleep. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful from check-in to check-out, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. They even left a few nice personal touches that made me feel especially welcome. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality stay in the area. Enjoyable getaway in Blackwater area. The cabin really felt off the grid, and I enjoyed the wide selection of movies and non-internet entertainment. The area is very buggy when we went in early June, I wasn't quite ready for that as Cambridge is not. I liked the feel and would recommend it for anyone looking for quiet and remote feeling, but not challenging to get to.

This place could not be more perfect for our trip to DC. It was the perfect distance to the metro. Our group of 8 had so much space of our own, yet plenty of room to be together in the common spaces and not be on top of each other! We went in the coldest month of the year, so unfortunately we didn’t get to experience the best of what the outdoor areas had to offer but the views were breathtaking regardless. Melanie’s place was extremely clean and everything was provided and then some! Everyone in our group would like to go back in warmer months to spend more time outside. Before we got there, Melanie explained that there was an issue with one of the sinks in the cabins and said she would credit us accordingly. I thought that was great! It did not hinder or create a problem whatsoever! I hope we get to make it back sometime!

We enjoyed our stay here. Very quiet area, nice comfortable space. The gravel road leading in (maybe a half-mile long) and driveway gave us a good area for morning and evening dog walks. We did not end up doing any fishing but the pond looked like a great place for kayak fishing. Not specific to the house but in the area: Rita's Cafe in Weems was great (food truck on a small road)--Chef Craige usually has a special and some regular menu items. Leadbellys (at Fairport Marina) had good oysters and hush puppies and was convenient for our first night. River Market in White Stone has good food to be ordered at the rear counter and prepared items in the coolers. Out of the Oven Bakery (White Stone) had great bread Miss Mary's seafood, also in White Stone had great fresh fish and prepared items. The three places in White Stone are very close to each other so convenient when running out.

Basia was very attentive and responsive before and after our arrival. Any time we communicated with her, we got an immediate response. The cottage was beautiful and perfect for the two of us and our dog. Thank you!

'A diamond in the ruff'. Our first AirBnB and we absolutely loved the cabin. Had everything we needed & very clean. We had wonderful weather, nice breeze off the water. Fish were biting. Very quiet . A great getaway cabin. Our hostess Lorena was great, checked on us to see if we needed anything. Well stocked kitchen. Thank You Lorena!

Jess' place was perfect for our stay. With easy access to beach and to all the main attractions. We cooked several meals in the kitchen it was well stocked.

I recently stayed at Crooked Elm and was thoroughly impressed. The place was impeccably clean, and the attention to detail was evident in every corner. The host's responsiveness was top-notch! One feature that stood out was the guest binder. It was incredibly detailed, providing clear instructions on everything from using the fireplaces to local attractions and dining recommendations. This made it easy to settle in and feel at home. It had everything we needed for a cozy stay! Overall, my stay at Crooked Elm was delightful, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, well-managed retreat.

My husband and I enjoy staying at Cheryl’s place. We have been here in the winter and summer. It is a cute little house and the area is nice and peaceful. It is dog friendly and our boys love walking up and down the quiet road. Cheryl is a great host and always responsive. We will stay there again.

Absolutely recommend this stay! Jonelle was very responsive and helpful. I stayed here because I was getting married at a local venue and it was perfect since it’s private but not far from everything. The house was clean and had everything we needed!

Pizza Friday was an amazing find! We spent a family reunion on the porch making pizza's in the oven. We obtained crusts from an Italian restaurant in California on our way and it proved to the perfect choice for us. We also enjoyed the dock and even caught a few crabs to show the kids. In addition we sat around the fire pit in the evenings. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean inside although we spent most of our time outside on the porch.

This was an incredible stay — the property is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful! We were constantly in awe of the nature and how expansive the land is. We loved using the bikes to explore, the pool was absolutely amazing, and the sitting areas by the numerous ponds were perfect for relaxing and having a picnic. During our stay, we looked up more about the area and found that this is the historic Woodlawn Plantation, which has a history tied to slavery. That’s something we hadn’t realized beforehand, and we took time for moments of reflection out of respect for that history. It would have been meaningful to see that acknowledged on-site. Overall, this was a beautiful stay, and Gerri was so incredibly helpful and very easy to talk to ☺️.
