The view alone is worth the price! Everything was so lush and beautiful! We felt like we were in our very own private resort. We enjoyed the spacious house itself and the outdoor area. The pool was great and the beds were super comfortable! This was a great base to explore the entire Big Island of Hawaii! I would recommend this home to anyone! Just book it already!

This is our 2nd stay with Debra & Mike’s house. It’s a great property with a salt water pool. We were in the pool morning and afternoons. After a long day we enjoyed cooling off in the pool. Beds are very comfortable and there is an outdoor lava rock shower. If exploring the volcano and driving to black sand beach, this is a great location. The house tends to warm up during the day but the pool area is nice place to lounge. Very peaceful place to come home to.

We had an unforgettable stay at Sina’s beautiful Japanese-style home! The design of the house was stunning—open, peaceful, and incredibly accommodating for our entire family. The kids were in heaven with the spacious yard, spending hours exploring, playing, and splashing in the pool. The location was perfect—peacefully secluded for privacy and relaxation, yet conveniently close to stores and everything we needed. Sina was a fantastic host: extremely responsive, thoughtful, and supported by a wonderful team that ensured our stay was seamless from start to finish. To top it all off, we were lucky enough to witness the volcano's 25th eruption during our stay—an absolutely breathtaking and once-in-a-lifetime experience! We highly recommend this stay and will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Sina, for sharing your amazing home with us!

We enjoyed the private and peaceful location and it worked out well for our brief stay on that side of the island with a reasonable drive to some areas that were just too far from the west side of the island. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the AC as my husband gets hot and sweaty at night without it. The frogs were loud at night but the fan helped cover the noise so we appreciated it. We didn't get the chance to meet our hosts but had a great stay overall and would happily stay again in the future.

Absolutely perfect! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow—what a gem of a place! This tropical paradise is everything we hoped for and more. The home is spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and feels both comfortable and luxurious. Our group toured the house in amazement of all the little touches that really added to the experience. Breakfasts on the Lanai were relaxing. We truly wished we could have stayed longer! Chase, our host, was outstanding—he’s incredibly responsive and helpful, and his guidebook was a lifesaver. We followed his advice and headed to The Kea’au Deli to pick up lunch before heading to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. Everything was so delicious, from the coffees and teas to the sandwiches and salads. For dinner, we tried another recommendation - Kaleo’s, just down the road, and again, the food and atmosphere were amazing. Chase and his family clearly know the area inside and out. Staying here is living in paradise—highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing experience!

We absolutely loved The Sugar Shack! It was more than what we expected - the house had everything we needed, and the flow was seamless. Even though we arrived pretty late, the instructions on how to get to the house were very clear, and we found it without any issues. It felt like we had lived there for years, which made it so perfect for us. The location was fantastic - about an hour away from Hilo, nestled in the beautiful SeaView subdivision. We had the opportunity to check out an event at the SeaView park, which was a lot of fun. Plus, we were close to Volcanoes National Park and some stunning black sand beaches. We highly recommend The Sugar Shack - it was the perfect spot for our stay!

Our recent stay at the Teahouse Cottage in Volcano was perfect for our staycation. The home was impeccably brand new, with every detail thoughtfully designed. The Asian-inspired theme created a serene atmosphere that we adored. Shannon, our host, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, providing all the essentials and extras that made our stay enjoyable. The highlight was the back of the house—a romantic oasis featuring a luxurious Japanese furo hot tub, a cozy fire table, and enchanting outdoor lighting. The ambience was incredibly romantic. Highly recommend this gem for anyone seeking a special escape in Volcano!

A slice of heaven in Volcano. Lovely cabin, spacious and thoughtfully furnished and equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Todd and Olivia are exceptional hosts, with proactive communication and clear instructions. The cabin was spotless and beautifully maintained, inside and out. Highly recommend!

Perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing.

Everything was as described. We had no issues finding the place, checking in or out. Everything was easily identified. Everything was clean, organized, and not “cheap”. Sometimes you get some Airbnb that use cheaper stuff (plates, cutlery, cups etc) but these cups were clean and legit. It’s small things like this that are appreciated. Beds are comfy, patio is comfortable. Locations: short drive to gas and small local market. Short drive to volcano and hikes etc. Great base camp for the area.

Dusty and Luba thought of everything! They gave us great tips for daily activities and were very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. Beautiful home and neighborhood!!

Absolutely loved our stay! This Airbnb is a hidden gem nestled in a serene rainforest—waking up each morning to birdsong and sipping coffee on the back porch while watching colorful birds flit through the trees was pure magic. The home itself was comfy, clean, and just the right size for our family of four. John is a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. His insider tips led us to some stunning local beaches and made our visit to Volcanoes National Park even more memorable. If you’re looking for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway with unique local experiences, this is the place. Highly recommend!

This Airbnb is quite unique and if you're looking for peace and quiet and an unusual setting this is the place. Located literally on a lava field with a view of the ocean and it's amazing. The breeze here is strong and comfortable and we even had a double rainbow. The little cabin itself is quite comfortable and pretty modern with everything you need. The host Morgan is always available and very easy to deal with we had no issues getting in the place. This Airbnb is about 30 minutes south of Hilo and although it's next to the Volcano National Park you cannot access the park from the AIRBNB by car and must drive around heading to your commute time to see the biggest attractions on the island. That being said the Airbnb in itself is a destination and well worth it. I highly recommend this Airbnb and I would definitely stay there again, 👍🙂

We love “unique stays” and this was so unbelievable peaceful and luxurious and so uniquely beautiful. It was the most perfect place to stay to make the most of Volcanoes National Park. Would absolutely recommend!!

It is such an amazing place. So close to the volcano national park that we were able to go and see the volcano eruption on time. The surrounding is very peaceful. We felt like we are in a rainforest. The place has more than everything we need! Very considerate. We strongly recommend it!

Place was exactly as described. No issues finding once address was provided. Hint: take the "southern" way in/out of the neighborhood, even if longer. Quiet area; but not all that private with homes on either side. You'll certainly see some wild pigs, if not entire families. Lots of other wildlife nearby to hear. Zero water supply issues, but pressure is on the low side. Top loading HE washer and regular drier available and work great! TV plays nice with NTFS formatted USB devices. Kitchen and bath both well supplied. No built in heat or AC; wasn't an issue for us. Both bedrooms have a faux fireplace wall heater and a portable unit is available. Place is rural, which I actively sought out. Just be aware of where you'll be in relation to where you want to go. Volcanoes National Park is only ~20 minutes, but Kona is 2+ hours.

Roberta’s home in Volcano for a one night stay was perfect for my wife’s and my 55th anniversary. Celebrating with our son and his family incl two granddaughters w most of the time in Kohala area. We’d stay here again. No negatives at all.

Peaceful and relaxing in a serene secluded jungle setting. Between the hot tub and fireplace, this house left me feeling rejuvenated after my stay. The house is clean and new, yet still feels cozy. You'll always remember the great places you've stayed on your travels and for me this is one of them.

I’ve stayed in many airbnbs and this is by far the best home I’ve stayed in. It’s so unique and beautifully laid out. And it’s tucked away in such a beautiful patch of giant ferns. Kent is an excellent host. Very communicative and incredibly accommodating. He also puts so many personal touches in the house to welcome you. Fresh flowers, beautiful bouquets, and all the amenities you’ll need and more. The house is 5 minutes from the National park, which made for easy trips in and easy excuses to go back and spend time on the deck amongst the ferns. I can’t recommend this place more highly. Stayed two weeks at Suzys little paradise and it was fantastic - from bed to kitchen as described and as expected (we've been there before and it's no secret, we already plan our next stay). Located in a quiet and pleasant residential area (quiet but not lonely), just south of Hilo and on the way to the volcanoes, just perfect for us. Washer and dryer are a huge plus for longer stays. Communication is easy and you get quick answers (if you have any questions at all because the information before arrival covers everything you need, including excursion tips). We love this place and we surely come back even if it's halfway around the world!
