We had a great stay at Toes in the Sand. It was even better than pictured. I was originally worried from the photos that maybe you couldn’t see the ocean from the main living floor, but you absolutely can see the ocean from nearly everywhere in the house. It’s lovely. Such a charming house, quiet, beautiful beach, and near enough to groceries, gas, and anything else you’d need. Also, had a great Oceanside dinner at Fish Heads <30 min north! Kite's Inn was exactly as advertised and more. The home is beautiful, well-furnished, and the kitchen was well-equipped. We loved the location with great views of the Pamlico Sound. The House was ideal for pets and small children. The grass yard allowed our dogs to play outside and to swim in the Sound without having to worry about stepping on burs and the beach was ideal for our 1 1/2 year old grand child. The house is easy walking distance to nearby attractions and restaurants. Joshua is a great host who was responsive and proactive with ideas when we had a rainy day.

We had a wonderful stay at Gia’s place. Place was exactly as described - very spacious home for our family of 10 to spread out. Ocean views from the second and 3rd floors. 5 minute walk to the beach - super convenient. Across the street from the Grocery Store - also very convenient. We didn’t have to use our vehicles at all. Would highly recommend, and would absolutely stay again!

Location of home was close and convenient to local grocery store and restaurants. Beach is within walking distance, but plan on carrying a light load or plan on renting a heavy-duty beach cart from a local rental place. The path to the beach from the house begins as a road which turns into a boardwalk with several steps up and down, once boardwalk has ended the trek through the dune is lengthy with soft sand partially up hill. A standard beach cart will not be your best interest; you will need one with large beach style tires. There are close ORV ramps if planning on driving a 4x4. Area attractions are a lengthy drive away; Avon is more laid back and less busy area. Overall, house is older as most properties are in Avon. For a simple laid back relaxing place to just chill and relax, this was a perfect fit. Host is very communitive and informative about the residence. Kitchen is fully stocked for all necessary meal planning needs. I would stay here again in the future.

I can't say enough positive things about Anthony or Diamond Shells. Beautiful beach front home. Do understand that, while the walk to the beach is very short, it is quite sloped - this is the case for every single beachfront home due to the topography. The house was absolutely perfect, and so was Anthony. Very responsive host and answered all questions very promptly and graciously.

Mark and Paul's place is beautiful. it is unfortunate that one of the properties across the road is in rough shape, but all other nearby properties are in excellent condition. The yard overlooking the canal is gorgeous. Do note that as with most properties in OBX, a flight of stairs is necessary to enter the house. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the bedrooms are extremely comfortable. Everything was spotless. We, unfortunately had rain, much of the time we were there, but did enjoy the exploring we could do. Absolutely recommend Sunrise Seafood, the fresh shrimp, crab cakes and swordfish were fabulous! Froggy Dog, ok, but not spectacular. We did enjoy Oceanas Bistro...especially the fresh tuna griller! Mark and Paul are not new to Air BNB and their attention to detail shows.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I booked this OBX Airbnb while I was deployed, with the goal of reconnecting with my family and soaking up some much-needed beach time. This trip was exactly what I needed, and the experience exceeded my expectations in every way. The Airbnb itself was cozy and comfortable, located in a perfect spot to enjoy both the calm of the area and easy access to all the nearby attractions. The host made sure everything was clean and well-stocked, and the house had all the amenities we could ask for. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the beautiful weather, and the proximity to the beach made it so easy to just step outside and relax by the water. It was the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure—spending time with my loved ones, soaking in the OBX vibes, and checking out some local gems. If you're considering a trip to the Outer Banks, this Airbnb is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

This was a wonderful experience. We loved the well stocked kitchen and dog friendly house. No one complained, from adults down to teenagers :). Marsha and Steve gave some excellent recommendations for our first stay at Outer Banks. Teens/young adults loved the outdoor shower and mom loved the washer/dryer. The amount of outdoor furniture was impressive. Such a beautiful weekend! Beach is close enough to walk to and the chairs were very helpful. Thanks again!

Great private location very close to the beach, and perfect for kids to play outside and ride bikes around safely! The pool was definitely not in walking distance, but worth a quick drive as it wasn’t ever too busy and a very nice place. Kids loved the outdoor shower and adults loved the porch seating. Host very responsive and friendly!

This home is really fantastic. The location is ideal for access to the ORV ramps at Cape Hatteras as well as other points of interest. It's super convenient to get to the grocery store and several great restaurants. The neighborhood is so lovely and walkable. We did not utilize the pool as it was early in the season / cold outside but it looks wonderful. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the indoors and so many great spaces to sit outside and enjoy the peaceful getaway. We would definitely choose to stay here again. Traveled with another family - three kids - everyone had plenty of room and a great time.

Hands down my favorite stay in the OBX, great location, perfect for my puppy, can walk to the beach, local convenience store/food. Host was amazing gave me great recommendations!

We had a great time at Sushma’s house. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and extras like dishwasher pods and trash bags. We also appreciated the availability of sand toys, boogie boards, beach umbrellas, pool floats and beach chairs. There were numerous decks to enjoy the sound side views. The house was spacious and very comfy. We split our time between the ocean, the pool, the sound side and even took the ferry to Ocracoke. Sushma was very responsive and a great host. We have rented from outer beaches realty in the past and this was a far superior experience.

We have been to Ocracoke many times and stayed at the Castle. This time we were there to attend the Ocrafolk Festival which was outstanding. Lynne’s place was a great place to crash after very busy days. We had a blast.

Great house, location was fantastic, able to walk to beach dunes in a few minutes. Backyard is incredibly peaceful and serene. The jasmine, oleanders and willows make it so fragrant and mornings are full of birds. Furniture was all comfortable, beds too! Showers were great, including the outdoor shower.

Michael’s property was just what we needed for a last minute get away. The house was clean and well stocked. Everybody really enjoyed their stay. I look forward to booking again.

The name speaks true! It really is a beautiful hidden gem in Avon. From its ideal location to everything, to all the amenities the host provide. This location has been the best I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. It made my boyfriend’s birthday weekend and our friends loved it! David & Misty are truly wonderful hosts. Thank you again! 😊

This house was absolutely perfect! Not only was it exactly as pictured and described, but it felt very cozy, while still being spacious and offering lots of options. The location provided quick access to a beautiful beach, and a great ‘central’ location for day trips to Ocracoke, Pea Island, Nags Head and Hatteras, which gave our group great flexibility when people wanted to strike out on their own and then meet up later. Having the kayak and paddle board handy was nice for those who just wanted to relax and ‘chill’ for the day. We especially loved morning coffee on the back deck overlooking the sound, and being able to have dinner together on the huge screened in porch. The kitchen was extremely well-appointed which made meal prep a breeze. Communications with the host could not have been easier. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend!

What a find! The house is beautiful. Dawn and Dave are great and very responsive. We had so much fun and felt right at home the entire time. We can't wait to be back! Don't miss the opportunity to stay at Pamlico Hound....you wont regret it.

We came to Rodanthe to relax and that’s exactly what we did. This is the only Airbnb in the Outer Banks that we’ve considered staying at again. This rental house was more like a home which is rare to find at the beach. So many thoughtful extras to make your stay more enjoyable. The outdoor shower was everything. I didn’t use the shower inside our whole stay. The hot tub was clean and heated up quickly. The master bed was very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the deck talking, laughing, playing games, and enjoying the sounds of the ocean and the breeze. Beach access is right in front of the house which made for a very short walk back to use the bathroom or get a drink. I appreciated having just one flight of stairs to walk my senior dogs up and down to go to the bathroom. The host was very prompt getting back to me and answering all of my questions. We had a slight issue that was out of the host’s control but they did everything in their power to make it right.

If I could give Chris a ten star review, I would. We came for our anniversary and she made it the best weekend we could ask for. So many special touches , and she even decorated for our anniversary. The water views are breathtaking and the neighborhood was so nice to walk around. We loved sitting outside in the evenings watching the sunsets on the high deck And if there was rain there is a covered screen in porch. She had anything we needed and was so kind to us ! We Will come back again 100% !!

Had a great stay for our honeymoon, was very clean, the house was cute and cozy, close to everything, just a short walk to the beach. Highly recommend staying here.
