Family-friendly holiday rentals in Fushimi Ward

Thank you to this traditional old house for making our trip a pleasant experience and for the patience of the host.We are very satisfied with this trip, the construction of the homestay is very good, and the location is convenient!

What an amazing place to stay! You step back in time. The house looks full of history and has a small garden and outdoor tub! Koji and Eri are great hosts, friendly, responsive and welcoming. They have a lot of recommendations about the area. Just keep in mind that there are steep steps to the second floor and also if you’re very tall there is a possibility of head bumping :) The area itself is very convenient and we walked to many places of interest. Can recommend this property to any adventurous traveler!

It really felt home and Shi was responsive whenever I reach out. Everything went smooth and easy. The house is fully equipped and we enjoyed the bathtub while it was raining.

Great location! Nishiki market was a 2 minute walk. Family mart was just around the corner. Everything was close and convenient. We love the free refreshments and some nice gifts when we arrived. We love it so much we’re already planning my next trip. LOL

The house offers an authentic experience of a traditional Japanese home. Spacious, has spaces for guest room, living room, kitchen, bedroom, storage, dressing and a cute little backyard. Loved the bathroom amenities and enjoyed the bathing tub. The hosts were very kind and waited for us to arrive. They welcomed us in and walked us through all the amenities and operations in the house. They also showed us bus routes to all the popular Kyoto spots laid out on a map. They even provided a bike for our grocery runs etc. Everything we ended up needing was in the house, like umbrellas, full-length mirror, extra stools, washer-dryer. The backyard is smoking-friendly. Overall, very happy that we decided to stay at this property.

Great Machiya stay with a traditional feel, but with modern amenities such as heated floor! Also perfect location to explore Kyoto. Tokuji san was always very responsive during communications. Overall, highly recommended!

Our group of 3 couples loved staying at Patrick and Akiko's house. It was an excellent combination of traditional Japanese with modern amenities. We especially appreciated the separate living area with couches where we could sit, hang out and discuss our adventures from the day. The hosts also provided some tea for people to enjoy. The hosts shared places to visit and local restaurants, which was very thoughtful. The laundry was a little confusing, but we eventually figured it out. The house is very conveniently located near a train station, allowing us to go out on day trips to Himeji castle, Kobe and Osaka. 2 of the rooms have Western-style raised beds, and the 3rd room had Japanese futon matresses. Umbrellas were also provided for use during our stay. Patrick and Akiko clearly put a lot of thought into their guests. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing stay here in Kyoto. We were in a lovely neighborhood that felt like we were living there. The space was clean and tidy and had all the amenities we needed. Highly recommended!

We had a good stay. Mineral noise since it was in a residential area. Walkable to public transit and Nishiki Market. AC was very good. Washer and dryer worked well for small loads.

Totally recommend staying here. It’s at a great location. Right in front of a 711 and right next to a really good restaurant. Mio is a very nice person. Thank you for the stay we loved it

We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious. For us, the best part was the location. It truly felt like we were locals living in the community where Cozy Cottage is located. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the stay definitely made our time in Kyoto extra special. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace in Kyoto.

Nice house in a quiet neighborhood. Location gives fantastic access to the city through the Green Line (Karasuma). Easy to access from Kyoto Station shinkansen. Less than ten minute walk to the Aeon Mall. All facilities in working order. The washing machine is very useful in extending the usefulness of your carried clothing.

We loved our stay at Yamano’s place. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet, but it was just a short walk to the river, bus stop, and train station. The hosts were extremely responsive and kind. They met us at check in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They also sent suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area.

I can’t say enough great things about Uzu’s place. It was so clean and comfortable. When we checked in she was very thorough about the house and also about the surrounding areas and places to go. She had a great hand drawn map of the area that we actually used a lot! The traditional beds we chose to sleep in were very comfortable. Everything in the house is labeled which makes it very easy to find things. Uzu went out of her way to show us local restaurants and spots to try. She is a very friendly host that cares about making her guests stays very enjoyable! One thing we found was that it was a bit out of the way of central Kyoto. However, if you want to experience a quiet traditional neighborhood this is the spot! It’s about a 10 min walk to the closest train station or bus stop. One of most special Airbnb i've stayed. two adjoining parts—one a lovingly kept 100-year-old beauty, the other a slick, modern build—linked by a garden walkway. Inside, the highlight is a dramatic lounge filled with antique pieces and original details, while on the living side, the shower room is enormous. The setting is a calm, local neighborhood with easy bus and train access, and the host is unfailingly friendly and quick to respond.

Shogo was an amazing host!! His home was clean and he had so many great directions in english for me and the other guests. I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in Kyoto! I know we will be back :)

Seiko’s place feels like a home. It’s pretty and quirky and cozy enough that every afternoon during our 5 night stay, my husband and I, along with our two teens, would head back to the apartment to put our feet up for an hour or so before heading back out. The shower has great pressure and plenty of hot water. The air conditioner works well and we were happy to have it for a summer visit in Kyoto. The location is great for getting around but also quiet. Things to note are that the bedrooms get bright in the morning and that the traditional beds may be uncomfortable if you like a soft bed.

I wish I could’ve stayed longer ! Everything was perfect during my stay, it’s a very peaceful and quiet place, and we’re not too far from the center of Kyoto It was my first time sleeping on a futon and this is honestly very comfortable ! I’ve got welcomed by Mrs. T (I don’t know if I’m allowed to say her name in the review), she was so sweet and kind, she showed me some food recommendations, and brought my breakfast in the morning Thank you so much again for having me, and I hope to come back soon ! ☺️

Cozy and spacious townhouse, with gorgeous furnishings and comfortable futons. Made staying in on rainy days a pleasant option. Close to many stations - perfect for exploring the Kyoto region.

I had the pleasure of staying here about eight years ago and everything was perfect again! Great location across the street from a gorgeous Kyoto icon, Toji Temple, nice and close to public transportation including the city’s mega train station, and wonderful, gracious hospitality from the host. One of my favorite Airbnb stays ever!

This place had a great location for bus stations leading to many attractions in the Higashiyama area. The bath tub was awesome. The rooms were more spacious than most of the other places we’ve stayed at in Japan. It felt like a traditional Japanese home without sacrificing on modern amenities. The washer/dryer was a huge plus to have. Can’t recommend enough!

This accommodation was the perfect place for us to wind down after spending the day exploring Kyoto. It is comfortable, quiet and very private with all the required utensils to cook proper meals. We would stay there again in our next trip to Kyoto. Special mention to our wonderful hosts, who were extremely helpful and attentive!
