Monthly Rentals in Galnewa

My husband and I spent 2 days at Sumedha and her family's place, and the experience was great! The place is amazing, a treehouse as you wanted to. The amenities are more than enough, the bedding is very pleasant. The cabin is at the end of a cul-de-sac so we are quiet. When it comes to the host family, it's a golden family! They are at our disposal for any questions, very helpful (for visiting recommendations, ordering a taxi or other) and the evening meal was a delight! We recommend eyes a second thought!

Stayed between 15-18th of April 2025. This is the second time I visited this property. Absolutely a gem of place to relax and unwind. The location is full of nature only the sound of the birds can be heard. The views are stunning with a beautiful lake in front and a large paddy field. An unspoilt village to show children how the rural village life goes about. There are plenty of bicycle for the guests to use FoC and Can take a bicycle ride across the village and on the bundt of the lakes in and around and enjoy the picturesque views of the lakes and the Galkiriyagama rock that spans for 7kms. During the night only the sound of nature you can hear. In the evening a dip in the lake with the villages is not to be missed. The property is very clearly kept. The food is absolutely tasty and made in a kitchen cleanly kept. Ideal place to enjoy traditional Sri Lankan Rice and Curry and other Sri Lankan food. A place definitely you want to revisit over and over again. Great value for money.

Asitha and his family made us feel right at home for the duration of our stay. Anything we needed they provided, and the free breakfast prepared each morning was so good, using fruit and vegetables which were grown in same garden we were eating in! We kept in contact throughout the stay, and he helped to drive us wherever we needed to go via his tuk-tuk, which made it easier for us to get to and from the property. The room itself is beautiful, with a comfy bed and a nice view out the back which we sat by at night to watch fireflies, as well as a very lucky morning where we sat with a cup of tea watching a family of grey langurs playing and eating in the nearby trees - they even had a giant squirrel with them! Asitha arranged an elephant safari in Hurulu national park for us (which was amazing), and also helped take us to Sigirya rock for a sunrise hike. All in all, the stay was amazing and we would highly recommend!

We were picked up in Habarana with the Tuc Tuc. We spent 4 nights there and felt comfortable right from the beginning. From the balcony you have the feeling of being alone in the middle of the forest, although the nearest house is not far away. The concert of the forest at sunrise is indescribable! Only suitable for nature lovers! Good mosquito net available. Open air shower in the forest . The very simple kitchen of Marlon's wife can be used. If they are on site, they can prepare breakfast and dinner on request. Otherwise, self-catering is needed (unless the neighbors bring something by). Drinking water should always be brought with you enough. Channa and his wife look at the place when Marlon is not on site, they are super friendly! Channa also makes safaris in the adjacent national park. Marlon and his wife are extremely warm, helpful and accommodating. They have a lot to say and it's very interesting to talk to.
