Elm cottage is a great place to escape to and explore the Peak District including Thors Cave, Hartington, Tissington and Mam Tor. Local pubs, cafes and shops are excellent, just a short drive away and public footpaths from on site. We have some local walks from site on National Trust land. Away from the hustle and bustle, this peaceful spot has unrivalled far reaching views of the peaks and your own bench outside to enjoy them, or the stars! The cosy stable is located in the beautiful rural and tranquil village of Grindon in the Peak District. Situated 1000 Ft above sea level come and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills and sheep. Overlooking the famous Thor’s Cave, there is an abundance of beautiful walks from the property. Local pubs in Butterton, Hulme End and Warslow. Lovely local towns nearby include Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell and Leek. Grindon is the perfect get away for those craving peace and tranquility.

Delightful converted Stables offering one bedroom accommodation in the beautiful Peak District village of Alstonefield. The cosy living room includes a much admired kitchenette with stairs leading to the galleried bedroom and ensuite shower room. There are numerous scenic walks from the door, with the River Dove 10 mins walk away. Other attractions nearby include Chatsworth House and the Tissington Trail. The village also boasts a Michelin guide restaurant and a regular concert programme.

This is great for bike riding as well as walking, with Thors cave halfway down the track. Dove Dale and its famous stepping stones is only a 10 minute drive away. And for the thrill seekers Alton Towers is only a 10 minute drive. We have some lovely country pubs within a few miles of Shepherds Watch.
