My accommodation offers beautiful panoramic views and is close to restaurants, castles, Brunello di Montalcino tastings, horseback riding, Pecorino di Pienza, monasteries, medieval and Renaissance cities, museums, academies and the famous Palio di Siena.

You'll love the natural light, the high ceilings, the comfort of the bed, the well-equipped kitchen, the large garden, and the terrace. Ideal for couples, this accommodation promises an unforgettable stay in the beautiful Crete Senesi, just an hour from Florence.

Enjoy a bright living room in the castle tower and the unique atmosphere of this historic place.

The space
The Castle of San Fabiano, located a few minutes south of Siena, offers a unique experience immersed in history and nature. Guests can stay in one of the six comfortable suites on the second floor of the Castle, which can accommodate up to 12 people. The rooms are elegantly furnished with family furniture and ceilings with exposed beams, ensuring a cozy and refined atmosphere.

The Castle is an ideal starting point for exploring the beauty of Tuscany, from the beaches of the Tyrrhenian Sea to historic cities such as Florence, Rome, Arezzo, San Gimignano and Montalcino, famous for its wine. Guests can discover abbeys, monasteries and medieval villages far from the traditional tourist routes.

For those who want a longer stay, it is possible to rent the entire apartment for a week. The Castello's catering service offers traditional Tuscan dishes, prepared with fresh products from our organic garden.

Recreational activities include cooking classes, wine tasting tours, and hot air balloon rides. Golf courses, polo, tennis and horse riding stables are available nearby. A comfortable bus will take you to the center of Siena in just 20 minutes, where you can go shopping and admire the famous Piazza del Campo, home of the Palio, the famous horse race that takes place in July and August.

The Castello di San Fabiano promises an unforgettable stay, combining relaxation, culture and adventure in a historic and natural environment.

Guest access
Guests can enjoy WiFi Internet access in the common areas, parking and the park surrounding the Castle, where there is a 6x12 m2 saltwater swimming pool and hydromassage beds. Every morning, a buffet full of genuine, zero-kilometer products will welcome you, with fresh ricotta, pecorino cheese and ham from local organic producers, accompanied by homemade delights such as bread, cakes, croissants and jams made with fruit from our organic garden. During the summer, breakfast is served on the terrace, offering a unique and immersive experience in the natural setting of the place.

During your stay
My family and I live in a wing of the castle and are always available to guests to make their vacation as relaxing as possible. With the utmost availability and discretion, we offer daily advice on different routes, such as visits to wineries, typical restaurants and attractions of the surroundings, to ensure that guests can enjoy this area and their stay at the Castello di San Fabiano to the fullest.

Other things to note
Guests are advised to plan their stay with a car, as public transport in the area is limited both in lines and schedules. Many of the local attractions are easily accessible in 15-20 minutes by car, making the car the ideal way to explore the wonders of the area.

Neighbourhood highlights

As you enter into the landscape south of the Crete Senesi, southeast of Siena and Val d'Orcia, you appear to be stepping into another world, one which can only be described as “lunar” with its soft sloping gray colored hills, almost entirely deprived of color. The clay knolls which dot the landscape are the result of the steady erosion of the sediment which remains of the Pliocene sea, a large body of water from between 2.5 and 4.5 million years ago. This area, sometimes referred to as the Desert of Accona, is full of traces of ancient cultures, small medieval towns, local festivals and stunning landscapes.

There is a diverse selection of activities and areas to visit to fully enjoy the area of the Crete Senesi. The local towns of Asciano, Buonconvento and Serre di Rapolano offer a taste of the local cutlural flavor as well as delicious restaurants highlight the local culinary traditions. Heading southeast of Siena, the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore is one of the first stops followed by the thermal waters at Rapolano Terme and delicious flavour of white truffles in San Giovanni d'Asso.
