Waterfront holiday rentals in Iceland

Not much to dislike about this place. Great location on a small street with all the cute shops, restaurants and bars, but was still fairly quiet. Inside was large and bed and couch were comfortable. Big kitchen and bathroom. Definitely nice to have an easy to use washer/dryer after hitting all the sights. Nice top floor balcony off bedroom but didn’t use much because of weather. Didn’t matter much as we had fun people-watching from the living room table. Jon was extremely responsive and helpful. Parking garage access in the building was 100% worth the extra fee. Highly recommend. Note: you MUST try the small restaurant right across the street(Svarta Kaffio) that serves hearty soup in a bread bowl. Place was jammed for good reason.

We will forever remember our stay here in Iceland. Anna is an exceptional host who greeted us on arrival and welcomed us into her beautiful home so kindly. She was available whenever we had questions and was extremely accommodating. The picturesque landscape is quite unbelievable surrounding her home and we felt so welcomed to walk about as we wished. Her home is conveniently located within driving distance for great day trips and her clean hot tub was great to relax in after a day of exploring this beautiful country. Thank you Anna!

I don't know where to start. We were tired from an overnight flight and when we got to the apartment we felt so relaxed. Disa is a wonderful hostess and it was such a pleasure to have several conversations with her. She is so energetic and friendly. Skagafell was so comfortable to be in. Phenomenal bed, plenty of hot water and very nice temperature inside. Several times we saw horses go through and saw several herds as we approached our place. You can't go wrong renting this unique place.

We enjoyed the peaceful place- lovely views - pretty walks on the coast - well appointed small place but felt comfortable and relaxed- Thordis is a wonderful host! We will try to come back sometime - east to drive to many wonders of Iceland -

Lovely lodgings for our stay on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Well-appointed apartment. Groceries, restaurants, and a waterfall within walking distance. Would stay again!

This is a great place to stay for exploring Reykjavik and surrounding areas! The apartment is small and cozy with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We loved the view of the bay and the ability to enjoy the late sunsets. There are a few great restaurants just steps from the apartment and it’s very close to a grocery store. The apartment can be a tiny bit noisy from traffic if you have the window open, but when it’s closed you don’t hear much at all. Overall, we loved our stay and would stay there again!

We loved our stay at this cozy place. It had everything we needed. It was our first stay im Iceland and gave us a launching point to many places all the way to Vik and Rekiyavik.

We had a very nice stay in a cozy house. Given our situation, it was very nice to be able to check in earlier. The kitchen was spacious and it was wonderfully clean.

It was very enjoyable & near some of the places we wanted to go to.

We stayed wishing to catch the Northern Lights and we were lucky enough to do so each night and be there for a huge solar storm. We ventured out the first night and after that realized we were able to stay comfy at our airbnb and see them both in the front yard and backyard. The house was spacious and our children 7 & 1 loved the books and toys available. We were offered a portable crib and high chair which were convenient. There were plenty of novels for adults and a variety of books on Iceland. There is a washer and large drying rack, dishwasher, and full kitchen which was wonderful since it is a serene spot you can relax and not run down the road 15 minutes for food or coffee. I enjoyed walking the road to the church and admiring the horses next door. The location is remote and going to parks or the city required an hour drive. Our host was gracious and extended our check out which was helpful. Thank you for your hospitality.

Out of hundreds of rentals, this is one of my favorites. The home is only 15 minutes from a little town, but you feel like you are totally alone on the beautiful lake. We loved sitting in the hot tub and watching all the birds come and go. It’s incredibly well stocked- extra towels, great kitchen stuff, kayaks, fishing gear, laundry room, games closet, etc. There are luxuries like under floor heating, double black out curtains and several nice televisions. It kind of ruined the rest of our Iceland trip because no other home was nearly as great. Even with 4 kids, there was so much room and we all loved it.

This was a luxury experience. The place is beautiful with premium amenities and overall build. Everything works and makes sense. Larus was a great host who went above and beyond for us by helping with special arrangements as a surprise for my wife. The overall experience made us wish we stayed longer, but will return if we are in the area.

Absolutely stunning views and an unbeatable location. The host was incredibly welcoming, easy to communicate with, and their pets made the stay even more delightful. Our whole family had a wonderfully relaxing time—we’d love to return!

We wish this was our house! It was a stylish design which gave beautiful views of the Icelandic countryside and wildlife around. It had everything we needed for our family of 4, including supplying a highchair and cot for our younger son. Faxifoss wayerfall was a short walk away and places like Geysir and Gullfoss were a short drive from the cottage. The owners were always quick to respond to our queries and gave us a great recommendation of a local tomato restaurant where you can eat unlimited tomato soup and bread in a greenhouse. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

Really enjoyed my stay at Erla’s place - very well equipped for 6 people coupled with Erla’s responsiveness which made our stay extremely comfortable. The house is located opposite Akureyri but the view was well worth it.

Location: absolutely perfect for Reykjavík. The apartment is in a quiet, family-friendly building with peaceful views, and just a short drive from everything you need. It’s ideally located for daily hikes and provides easy access to highways—great for exploring Iceland without the hassle of city-center traffic. Also a convenient drive to the airport! The apartment: beautifully designed, nicely furnished, efficient, and minimalist. It had everything we needed: cooking utensils, appliances, dishes, washer/dryer, and a handy air-drying rack (an eco-friendly touch we appreciated). The entertainment area was cozy with a comfy couch and large TV. The bed was a bit snug but still very comfortable. A great base for anyone visiting Reykjavík & Iceland for nature, comfort, and calm!

We had an exceptional stay here at Myvtan. The unit was well appointed, tastefully decorated with local influences and crafts. The owners are wonderful people and take pride in their home and business. I would highly recommend the space.

The apartment was very spacious, clean, comfortable with a lovely view of the little harbor nearby. It provided my son and I with a base to explore many of Iceland's attractions using our car rental. Getting into the city takes about 12 minutes by car and around 45 minute by bus. We opted to cook at home since there's not a lot of restaurants nearby. Generally speaking this was a fantastic place to stay and made our whole week in Iceland stress free and relaxing. The apartment also has great water pressure and lots of warm water!

It was a very beautiful flat, spectacular view and had everything we needed and more. The location is perfect to much of the tourist spots in Reykjavik and bus stop 4 is incredibly close which was so helpful. Otherwise, a few buses only stopped at 5 or 3 which are both easily walkable. As many others said, there were welcome snacks and drinks which was very thoughtful and above and beyond. Lots of cute restaurants across the street and downstairs within the same building. Would 100% recommend to anyone!

Harbor Apartment was a great place to stay! Walking distance to all the prime sights made it convenient, as well as the many restaurants. So convenient!! Host(s) were so responsive, as well as the information shared about the area, the apartment and the restaurant suggestions made our visit perfect! We definitely will return one day!

The host was really communicative and accommodating. Her home is clean and has everything. We enjoy our stay and would recommend!

Snorri and Svava’s Airbnb was so cozy, clean, and in a great location near the city and next to the water. They were so responsive and friendly! I would stay again!

I stayed here for about ten days, fantastic experience. Property exactly as described and as premium as it looks. Don’t worry about it looking over a street, the multiple layers of well sealed glass and insulation does the job. Hosts were incredible, responded at all times and especially when I had an issue in middle of night was notable. Kitchen had everything I could want plus the air fryer a nice touch. Bedroom with tons of storage and bathroom was great. If you’re here especially to go to Harpa convention center, it literally can’t be beat.
