This is a super clean and cozy cottage which is perfectly nestled into a beautiful neighborhood. We loved this location because it was within 20 minutes of everything we wanted to do. The two private beach areas were clean and not crowded. Highly recommend.

Absolutely perfect stay! The house was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The hot tub was the highlight—so peaceful and private, surrounded by nature. We loved unwinding there after a day of exploring. Communication with the host was super easy, and check-in was a breeze. If you’re looking for a quiet escape with a touch of luxury, this is the spot. Already dreaming of our next trip back!

The house was amazing as well as the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking in the luray area. Close to everything luray has to offer . The house was spotless and fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. we will most definitely be back

I had an excellent stay here and would be happy to return again if my work brings me back to this area. I enjoyed the lake access, hot tub, modern appliances, ease of access and privacy. There is a short walk to the lake but that is well described in the listing and was expected. The neighboring houses/properties were a little close but not overbearing at all and I felt comfortable using the hot tub, going to the lake, etc. There is a bit of a drive (15+ minutes) to get to a legit grocery store or restaurant but that was not unexpected. I like that this location is more isolated. It's like camping in a posh 2 bedroom house. When I first drove down the short gravel road to the house around sunset I saw deer, rabbits, a pileated woodpecker and an abundance of fireflies. I had not even checked in yet. I would easily recommend booking a stay at this A-FRAME Lake Cabin.

This house is a gem! The location allows for privacy and great hikes while still being close enough to Luray and Sperryville for restaurants and activities. I’d absolutely return. The house was clean and as advertised. The hosts were very responsive! The creek on the property was such a lovely feature. The only note I’d like to make is the area must have had a lot of rain right before our visit. To access the house, you drive over a very small concrete bridge over the creek. When we arrived the water was over the bridge, and probably 5 or so inches at its deepest. We had a sedan and weren’t comfortable driving over. Jerry quickly gave us alternate directions, so all in all in worked out and provided some excitement :). But if there’s been a lot of rain and you have a low car, be aware!

We LOVED our stay! The screened porch overlooking the beach was so peaceful and our favorite place to be in the evening. The house was lovely, well cared for, very clean, and very tastefully decorated. The welcome book provided everything you needed to know about the house and surrounding area. We will be back again!

This was our third visit and we have loved being there every time. We travel from Florida to Pennsylvania in the spring and fall and this is the only place we stay two overnights because it’s such a lovely place to be. Chris is as nice and welcoming as anyone could possibly be. Everything you need is there. The pool and hot tub are amazing. The gardens and bird life are like nowhere else. The Graves Mill Trail, about 25 minutes away is a beautiful place to hike. And Chris introduced us last year to old house Vineyards where you can have amazing brick oven pizza on Mondays. We will return again and again!

We had an amazing stay! The views of the mountains were absolutely stunning. The space was clean, comfortable, and just as described. We really enjoyed the short hike down to the river, such a beautiful spot. There was a grill and campfire set up right by the water, which we didn’t use, but it was a nice touch. Scott was always available to answer any questions, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable getaway close to nature.

This small, historic town was nice to see. I loved looking at the old houses while we walked our dog through town. The house was clean but very historic. If your into old houses and antiques this is the place for you! The bed and linens were very comfortable.

Clean, comfortable, and cozy spot. Lots to do in close vicinity, but we prefer to enjoy the cottage and farm. Hosts go out of their way to ensure an easy and relaxing visit. We will return soon.

Great house in a fantastic location! Kids enjoyed the rope swing and book selection at the house. We loved the beautiful setting but still being close to all the wineries/breweries and restaurants that we love.

Loved staying at this quiet retreat! Mornings listening to birds, afternoons in the sunny backyard, stars and stars! Really loved this place and will be back again.

Cozy, adorable little cottage close to downtown! It has everything you need for a short or long stay, and plenty of room for a doggo. Amazing shower and cozy bed! Only ‘complaint,’ which is not even one, is that it got chilly inside at night and the heater was a bit difficult to use to raise the heat. Overall a wonderful weekend stay!

What a great place for our family to stay during W&L Graduation week! The location is beautiful and just a few minutes from downtown Lexington! We loved being right next to the tasting room to just walk over and grab a few of bottles of wine! I loved that my dogs were able to be a part of our mini-vacay. The gated back area was so convenient and perfect for our pups. I would recommend getting there during the daylight. The gravel road to the guest house is dark. Overall an amazing stay!

Perfect location to stay with extended family (and extended dog family!) for a local wedding. Loved sitting in the sunroom and watching the horses.

This was our 1st visit to The Crab Shack. All I can say is Wow, just Wow! This was the cleanest, nicest and cutest Airbnb that we have ever stayed at over the years! It was amazing! My husband and I traveled from Sarver, PA with our 2 Golden Retrievers to celebrate our 10 year Wedding Anniversary! We all had the best time ever! We spent most of the time here at the Shack just cooking on the grill and listening to music and the girls did a lot of swimming fetching for balls! Thank you Carlisle and Mary for making our 10 year Anniversary simply perfect! ❤️☀️😎🥂🍾🦀 We can’t wait to come back! ☺️

This is the third year we’ve come back to the Gatekeeper Cottage and it’s just as wonderful as always, Adrianne and Brick are very friendly hosts! We hope to come back again in the summer even if just for a day to enjoy the house in another season. Thank you again for having us back!

Great spot. Brought a camp chair and binoculars and sat by the shoreline. Drove to the windmill point tiki bar on fleets island for a sunset walk. Enjoyed kilmarnock & white stone. Had a soft shell crab sandwich at Bay Bistro, oysters & crab dip at Tides Inn. Great thrift stores in kilmarnock. Nights were peaceful and starry with the sounds of frogs. Definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking to explore the northern neck.

Joyce has done a phenomenal job with this lake house. Everything has been thought through. The house actually looks even better than the pictures. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor. And it is super clean. The kitchen is fully stacked with everything you would need ant home or away. Ample seasoned fire wood and starter sticks makes using their MASSIVE fire pit a breeze. The best part is she gives you access to both of their docks and you will not have to take your boat or kayak out of the water once. We kayak fished Johnson’s and Lacey’s with ease from her house. 100% coming back to stay again.

My kids and I went for Memorial Day weekend and absolutely loved it!! The kayaks, dock and lots of sunshine. My children are already wanting to plan another trip 😊 Thank you for the wonderful memories!

What a wonderful place and host! Pictures do not do it justice. It looks like a cosy cottage on the outside, but it is much bigger on the inside. Very clean. The first floor provides an extremely functional living space - living room, dinning area, kitchen and sun room. The couch in the sun room is extremely comfortable. The bedroom and bathroom upstairs are palatial. The two bedrooms downstairs are very cosy and have their own beautiful bathrooms. One of the downstairs bedrooms has a wonderfully enclosed porch off of it. Everything is up to date and very functional - Wi-Fi, heating and air conditioning, washer & drier, kitchen appliances, etc. And the host was quick to respond to any questions. We hope to return soon and take advantage of the outdoor activities.

Viola cottage in Bedford Va. Perfect location.Lots to do .Cottage was spotless, comfortable beds .Classic farmhouse feel with every amenity thought of. Beautifully renovated with all the old world charm retain.We felt right at home ,couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay. Exceptional property.

Perfect place to stay as long as you remember you are in the NQZ and there is no cell/wifi allowed. I will be back next year, so don’t tell my colleagues, or they may reserve it first.:)
