Cottage holiday rentals in Lancashire

What a wonderful place for a peaceful break away. The house was so comfortable with all the amenities needed. The hot tub was a lovely addition too! My son, who loves wildlife photography, absolutely adored the river. He spent every possible moment down there photographing Kingfishers! I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves birds and wildlife.

Stunning property, location was great for the wedding we attended in Poulton, it would also serve as a great base for exploring the local area. The house was exceptionally clean and Jill was very proactive and flexible with the sleeping arrangements for the 8 adults in our family party. It was very homely with everything you would possibly need. Jill even ran out with her personal sewing kit when we had a wardrobe emergency which saved the day. The bedrooms were lovely and spacious and the bedding luxurious. The bathrooms were spotless, We would highly recommend a stay here, it did not disappoint in the slightest. Worth every penny!!

We arrived on the Friday for a 3 night stay. The Barn is in a beautiful place inside and out. The Hot Tub was lovely on an evening and the patio fire was great to sit around for drinks early evening watching the Sun go down. Casterton village is only a couple of miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The village its self had a gorgeous pub 7 mins walk from the Barn which had a great range of food and served Sourdough pizza on Sunday evening after 1700hrs with a lovely warm atmosphere and open fires. There is a great taxi service and some fabulous restaurants near to the Barn. The Black Bull and the Highwayman were fabulous. (We did go to Number 9 also and it was not somewhere I could recommend, service and food really poor.) Patrick and Anika were great responsive hosts and this is a do not miss property, that offers every you need for a fabulous stay. Our little group loved it. Thank you Karen, Denise and Naomi

Hermitage cottage was in a beautiful situation right on the river Lune. The cottage was clean and tidy. We enjoyed the hot tub, the barbecue and the outdoor seating. We were extremely fortunate with the weather and really enjoyed our stay. Walks around the estate were lovely. It is a lovely base to explore the Forest of Bowland and surrounding areas.

Wonderfully peaceful location. Holly Toft is a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay. We paticularly appreciated how much care was given to ensuring the hot tub was spotlessly clean and freshly filled for our arrival. Kathryn is a superb host who clearly cares a lot about her guests. The field full of adorable lambs to look out on was a delightful bonus! Highly recommend! Thank you Kathryn.

Wonderful 5-night stay at Chestnut Cottage after Rob completed the Great Glen Way & West Highland Way in 6 days! @freemanwalking on YouTube 😀 The hot tub was a real treat for soothing sore muscles. Stunning bay views made the cottage the perfect place to relax. The bed was super comfy, and we loved the little extra touches like the soft robes and complimentary tea, coffee, and milk. Just a short, scenic walk along the promenade to the village for supplies. The weather wasn’t the best, but the cosy cottage more than made up for it. Highly recommend! Thank you Gemma

Spencer's Granary is a beautifully restored farm building in equally beautiful surroundings. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and clutter-free. The goodies on arrival were very welcome, especially the home made cookies that were delicious! Charlotte was a responsive host, who always made the effort to reply, with nothing seemingly being too much trouble. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend!

Beautiful property, very clean and well presented. It had everything we needed for a wonderful 3 night stay while we walked each of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. Great location to reach the start of each walk, supermarket and nice pubs if you have a car. Village was so pretty and locals very friendly. Beds very comfortable and gorgeous views from every window. Communication from the owner was excellent. Thank you!

5* accommodation! Comfortable, elegant, quiet and clean country house with welcoming garden in a beautiful part of the countryside. Well provided kitchen, pristine decoration complemented with nice and interesting ornaments. Being there is part of the weekend break.

Great stay. Perfect base for our 3 peaks walk. Clean, clutter free and dog friendly. Powerful shower to help ease our weary limbs. Comfy bed, sofa and the kitchen had most things we needed for our stay. And great value for money. What more could you want!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The cottage is a mini home from home and having the little private garden at the back was definitely the icing on the cake. We try to get back to the area regularly as having moved away after 25 years of living in the area, we have friends to catch up with, we will definitely re book and stay here again. Loved it

We have had a very cofortable stay at Laura's house. Great location for exploring Skipton, Gargrave and surrounding areas. And what a view from the kitchen window!

We had a great stay at Bluebell cottage - the location is fantastic- Langcliffe is beautiful and there are plenty of walks from the doorstep. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable and has everything you need. The garden is lovely but note if you have an adventurous dog the gate doesn't fasten shut fully so it's not 100% secure. Richard is a very friendly host but message response times were very slow when we had an issue with the WiFi not working. Overall I would recommend staying at the cottage.

The house and grounds are really lovely and beautiful. Felt right at home when we turned up. Ann and Tony were very kind and responded quickly, when we messaged them. They were very happy to stop and have a chat. The views were picturesque. It was lovely having the sheep and lambs in the next field. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone visiting in this area.

We loved our stay at Polly’s cottage! It was lovely to stay somewhere so well set up for a baby. We particularly appreciated the welcome hamper with products from the village shop and all the walks we could do from the door. Amy was so responsive and helpful as co host, which made the stay very straight forward. Thanks in particular for going the extra mile and providing some extra cooking appliances for our stay!

The Granny House was a beautiful home, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very spacious. Stunning walks from the door got this holiday off to a flying start. Jeanne's communication was excellent and she got back to us really quickly when I had a query the week before. She was also incredibly understanding and generous spirited about an accidental breakage....

We’ve just got back from a week’s stay at this gorgeous cottage and we didn’t want to leave. Firstly the cottage itself. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and so comfortable and cosy. Everything is high end and Rachel had thought of everything. On a day when the weather wasn’t so great we cooked a meal effortlessly. We’ve never slept so well either - that bed was so comfy! Secondly, Rachel was amazing. When our cat was seriously ill she was really kind and let us move our holiday dates, which we really appreciated. She was really responsive and helpful. Finally, the location is perfect. Just a very short walk away from all amenities, pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, petrol station etc but still a lovely quiet location. The neighbours are lovely too. Already looking forward to coming back!

The house was beautiful and had such a warm homely feel I wish I was there longer. There are shops nearby and Karen has spent a fair amount of time listing a variety of local information including a number of walking routes.

Marl Hill House is a lovely property in a beautiful area. It was perfect for our family party of 8 and our 2 dogs. The enclosed gardens were great for them and the house was warm, very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed cooking with the aga - makes a great breakfast! The area is beautiful, lovely pubs and great walking/mountain biking. Hearing the curlews in the morning was special as was the little wagtail who kept appearing. Sarah was a great host with excellent recommendations; responding quickly to messages and instructions were spot on. We hope to stay again and discover more of this beautiful area.

We had a glorious stay at Coutts Roost. A much needed girls weekend. This is a really nicely done cottage with superb amenities. Everything is high spec and the beds are really comfy. Jenny and Caesar are welcoming and on hand to answer any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the garden and using the fire pit. Views of the horses rolling in the dust and the feeling of being out in the countryside meant that we all had proper relax. Would highly recommend this Airbnb!

A lovely property in a wonderful location. Parking was the only potential drawback but we managed to find a space every time.

Small but lovely! Melanie has added helpful notes around the house, and also has a policy of leaving useful things left by others for future guests, which I approve of (eg some herbs and spices, also some toiletries). The house does not have a fab view - it is tucked behind other houses - but it's right in the middle of town, and is great value.
